Owned an Evora S for 3 years, have driven several non S Evoras, as well as a GT410 Sport.
Standard Evora’s have even more plush ride than the S. Lovely cars, although you want the close ratio box for it to feel anything like a sports car. (The original long ratio box has the original diesel gear ratios, good for fuel economy, bad for going anywhere in a hurry).
The GT410 Sport is a sensational car, just watch Harry’s Garage review of it - a much sharper driving car than the Emira that followed.
Very underrated cars, in whichever model you can afford. Just get a good one, as some early cars are now a bit tatty.

Enjoyed your review. I have a beautiful Evora S Sports Racer and love it. The car is an absolute blast to drive, it’s comfortable yet handles brilliantly, it cruises perfectly on the motorway, yet delivers on a twisty b road. The back seats are useful if you have kids. With the sports exhaust it sounds great. It looks like a mini super car, everyone absolutely loves it. Ive had TVRs in the past, but the positive attention this car gets is on another level. The other thing you didn’t mention is the ownership costs or lack of. Servicing is really reasonable from Lotus, and depreciation is glacial. Mine is still worth roughly what I paid 5 years ago. What a great car and seriously underrated.

The 911 is the ultimate head decision - and understandably so, just superb things! I'd kill to own a nicely sorted one!
The Evora S is the heart decision that would likely come at the cost of usability and the odd bit of dependability but it'd be so, so special to own! That's my take on it but that's from someone who's owned neither hahaha!

If anyone is looking for a Lotus specialist who knows Evoras to the ‘rebuild’ level - they have owned several themselves, rebuilt an Esprit to concourse level, and do a lot of Seven and Elise/Exige rebuilds too - then give Andy Buik at SaabMK a call. Full disclosure, he’s a biking mate of mine, but when Lotus themselves pass him work, you know he’s good. He’ll also give you an honest opinion on the build quality, problem areas, and driving dynamics. And, he knows what he’s talking about - ex-race instructor and regular Lotus track car driver.

Ooooo see what I found so surprising was how different the Evora and Exige 410 Sport felt. The Exige 410 felt like the most raw supercar experience - how I imagine driving a McLaren F1 to feel in a way, whereas the Evora feels like a mid-engined 911 in terms of ride quality (if not better) but with the Lotus/Toyota V6 heart still!
Build quality and usability goes to the 911 though, they feel very, very well screwed together in comparison.

I think the broad supercharged powerband of tbe evora is pretty epic, considering the porsche makes most of its power up top , even though for a naturally aspirated car, it also has a wonderful power band. The room in the cayman is better, the evora is piss poor. But heat management in thr cayman is piss poor where as in the evora its okay . Lots of pros and cons

The ND MX-5 does so comfort, economy, running cost and even I think depreciation is handled really well. And the size of them too, just delightfully small to nip around in. So I can see why they make a lot of sense as a fun commuter - I loved commuting in my NC.
The Evora S would make every journey more memorable I'd just do the maths on what you'd spend per year to do 10k in just to be really sure hahaha! God this car has left an impression on me though!
