Thanks for the video. my lizard pro and motor mount showed up today so this helps. I'm waiting on the new high clearance 4 links and extra long drive shafts for the front end so I can stretch it before I can put it together. I'm also waiting in a bunch of new brass weight parts. I'm turning my daily C10 into a full on rock bouncer I have the aluminum bouncer chassis and a bunch other parts. I'm using huge little guys 64mm tires, rear steer, stretch front end, extended wheels and lots of weight to keep it on the ground. Going to an axial fest in a few months so I'm getting ready and trying to build a crazy buggy for the trip
This video did really well, and I'm crossing my fingers for the next viral video. The video coming out this Sunday is pretty interesting. I appreciate your support!
I ended up mounting mine backwards and cutting the battery tray. It was minimal work with an Exacto knife. This appeared to be the best way because if you remove the little stopper at the back of the battery tray, the battery will still fit at the expense of sitting slightly farther back. However, I have the Gladiator so I don't know how that would work on a short wheel base scx24. Edit: In order to install the motor backwards, you have to turn the skidplate around. In order to do that, you have to cut or file the locating nipples off of the sides. The screw holes line up perfectly once you find the right spot.
so i have the exact same truck, and i ordered the Komodo and Stellar trans thinking plug an play lol oh how wrong was I lol. so now i need the Lizard Ultimate? on some builds i keep seeing the lizard hooked up to something more than just the battery an engine
Hey Colby. The stock SCX24 ESC is a ESC/Receiver Combo. Meaning you can use the stock electronics for it's receiver ability and piggyback your new electronics onto it. I had the option of running my truck that way initially, but I didn't want the extra bulk of electronics on my truck.
The brushless motor has far more torque than stock. It is very controllable at low speed so much that it almost looks like it isn't moving, even when it is!
The Speed Controller and Motor were about $125, which is all you need to get started. It is pretty challenging to get it all to fit with the stock Electronic Speed Controller (ESC).
I think the stock battery is a perfect combination. I picked up two 3S Batteries from MoFo RC and they're thicker, which makes it difficult to mount the body.
This motor runs slower than the stock one. I changed the pinion gear and run 3S batteries which gives it a bit more speed. The power on this motor is very controllable and great for climbing and crawling.
The Komodo is a great motor with lots of torque, but it is not the best for the SCX24 IMO. It is huge compared to the truck, It way over powers these small vehicles causing lots of stress on the drive train, and to mount it it makes the center of gravity much too high. Check out the Nano Beast from MOFO RC. It is much more in line with the size and power needs of the SCX24
I'm always open to suggestions!! I'll give it a look and maybe we'll see it on the truck in the future. For now I've got some suspension concerns to work out. These small shocks are a bit of a challenge. Got any preferred shocks?
sick motos in the back!

Heck yeah!! These SCX24s are a blast after some solid upgrades!!
If there's twenty thousand views on this video he should have at least five to ten thousand Subs

Awesome upgrades Brother. I'm a new sub and new to the Hobby as well.
Thank you for the sub! This RC Hobby is way too much fun!
@@MK-RC Your Welcome Brother. Yes this Hobby is more fun than any other Hobby for sure.
@@MK-RC would you be interested in doing a Channel Sticker Swap with me Brother?

This will help
Glad to hear that!
just what i needed thank you
Glad I could help. The furitek systems for these little trucks are a fantastic upgrade!
I'm thinking about a brushless system for my deadbolt
The torque and control on brushless is great!! I'll do a video comparing them a stock truck soon!
I would think your new brushless motor would have more torque overall, due to its larger size.
The brushless motor has far more torque than stock. It is very controllable at low speed so much that it almost looks like it isn't moving, even when it is!
I was wondering if this fit under the body of the c10. How much does this upgrade cost?

What battery is best for this motor?
I think the stock battery is a perfect combination. I picked up two 3S Batteries from MoFo RC and they're thicker, which makes it difficult to mount the body.
Is this motor run faster than stock one?

9:04 i did, until you ended the video without completing the instal. you didnt even mount the new esc and the old esc/RX combo.
Hot racing long travel shocks I herd work good

furitek makes the micro komodo, i would go with that.
