    I've recently been looking to get back into my minis,and was I blown away by the advancements the rc industry has made in the last 10 years. This video is just what I needed to make my choice. Thank you so much for the valuable information you provide and the enthusiasm with which you provided it. Good day to you sir.

    I wasn't really interested in an SCX 24 until I came across the Furitek setup. I built a comp-style crawler around it using their Scythe chassis and couldn't be happier. It does end up being a pricey rig (which you touched on) as you really do need a low CG chassis to offset the weight of the motor but once you have it dialed in, this thing performs like nothing else at this scale. I totally get the "might as well put the money into a 1/10 rig" argument but having something so capable that you really can drive anywhere indoors and tweak like a larger rig is just plain fun

      I just bout one for myself, ended up buying 3 more for my nephews, I have a rustler vxl, wanted something small I could build a track for, can’t wait for Christmas going to have a competition with my nephews. I also just got the motor waiting for it to arrive.

    I thought the scx24 was an RC that can only be played indoors, but I'll have to go outside by replacing the motor and tires.
    And I want to rock crawling. This is such a good video. thank you.👍👍👍

    I have that exact set up it’s a lot of technology for a 1:24th scale RC & has more technology then any of my 1:10 scale RC’s. The torque it puts out is real & the Bluetooth & app you can mess with for hrs. Super cool if you are 100% into custom crawlers. My SCX is completely tricked out & it’s actually my only Axial. I put mine on the shelf once I got my 1:10 scale crawlers but recently I’ve been taking it out again & it’s super fun & I think it actually improves your driving skills. I just need those tires!

    The Furitek Komodo motor gives a terrible COG due to weight and height though. MOFO RC nano beast is virtually the same size and weight as a stock motor and just as much control and power as the Komodo 💪

      @@robbryan3044 The scythe is in a whole different category of crawler. My comment was related to this video and standard scx24 chassis 👍

    • @robbryan3044
      @robbryan3044 3 года назад +1

      @@crashtestdummy27 First, it is NOT a "whole different category". In 1/10 scale, there are "trail" and "comp" crawlers (ie. different 'categories')...but, in 1/24 scale, there aren't different 'categories', as there is NO "competition" (same goes for 1/6, ie. the SCX6). Second, you are also ignoring the fact that the Scythe IS mentioned in the video (not by name, but the fact remains that "Furitek has an LCG chassis for the SCX24" IS mentioned ion the video). Seems to me, you're just "complaining" so that you can have 'something' to compain about.

    Its like putting a v8 in a jeep wrangler to replace the lame v6. Sure its fun and powerful, but does it actually go offroad any better? Thats alot of weight to smack right at the tippy top of the frame. I find poor weight distribution to be far more frustrating to handle then the brushed motors lack of power.

    Great video! Thanks for showing in your perspective. Furitek is welcomed brand for the micro rc area. Personally, the motor is heavy and hinders the performance of CG. Also, 3mm motor shaft sounds like 1/10 to me which is unnecessary for micro scale.

      Little & cheap don't always go "hand-n-hand". look at Mini-Z racing, and how much some can spend making their cars top-level performers. Look at the popularity of Spec Slash racing (not to be confused with Stock Spec Slash...and, yes, I know the Slash isn't 'little', but I'm using it as a "cost comparison")...one of the "cheapest" classes of off-road RC racing...and what people spend to make them handle better. And, to think, this video is only about ESC & motor upgrades - you should look at all the upgrades Treal has for the SCX24 (steel gears, machined axle housings, brass steering knuckles, etc). By the time a person finishes building-up an SCX24 to be comp-level competitive, it's easy to spend $400-500...and that's before adding an LCG chassis, such as gthe Furitek Scythe.

    Please stop advertising this absolutely poor motor!! It is a 1400 kv una short dimension which has NO torque!!!!. I tested on slightly Buggerru vehicle and above 700g it doesnt have traction. The real magic of all the video on the combo esc + motor... is the PINION!!!!!!!!! It moves so slowly because in order to compensate the very low torque.. they added an incredibile small pinion which multiples the torque!!!.. so no magic i the motor.. which cost too much and it generates torque only thanks to the gear ratio granted by the pinion. So basically you pay for a job done by a 2 dollar hardware. Please stop please stop selling the idea that it is super!!!
