Thank you for talking about your loss. I lost my wife and soulmate of 40 years to cancer 4 years ago. It takes a long time for the grief not to hurt as bad, and getting therapy is a good thing to help with these issues.

I want to applaud you for being real about the grief you've experienced and the help you got. Too often, especially with people who always seem to show a happy-go-lucky face to the world, suffering in silence so they can keep up the facade is all people think they can do even though they're in a dark place. Good on you for helping break down a stigma.

No Hoovie, there is NO stigma for asking for help/therapy! Good for you to talk about it and even better with a sponsor! Sadly "closure" never comes when you lose a loved one. That big hole will remain unfilled. But you get to keep all the cool memories every time you look at that 85 Mercedes and drive it. She'd want you to keep on doing what you love...and you are...so do that. 1.44 million people want you to keep on doing it too.

Hey Tyler, losing a loved one is very hard and I know your SL reminds you a lot about your grandmother; when you can take that car out for a spin. If you try and remember all the good memories you shared, this will pass and you'll be fine. I lost my dad in January of this year and he left me his prized possession, a 1994 Dodge B350 van with the 5.9L in it that he loved so much. I enjoy driving it and it will be my honor restoring it back to its former glory as the roof is rusting out and lots of parts that need to get replaced as well. Hopefully you're able to enjoy your car once again and we both shall remember our loved ones in the best memories. Always looking forward to seeing your clips

These things are so good!!! upper and lower pulleys, exhaust, intake, injectors, ported blower and send the ECU to Renntech in Florida to be tuned. Not sure if there is a valve body upgrade for the trans and a tune. This would get the car up to like 475 to the crank. You'd stomp Scatpacks being 1,200+lbs lighter. Super sleeper. I always wanted Hoovie to buy an old SLK so I could live through him vicariously and not have to worry about fixing it. But I should have realized that when he did it would make me want to buy one. Maybe I’ll just wait until he’s done fixing his and offer to buy it…

I have a 2003 SLK32 AMG, silver with black and silver interior.
I was thinking about selling it.
The car is from Tempe AZ, I am friends with the original owner.
I am the second owner, the car is outstanding! I just have too many cars/trucks.
The car has been garage kept in Sandpoint Idaho for the last three years, the lowest temp in our garage is 55 degrees regardless of outside temps being below zero. It's a warm weather runaround for us and rarely gets used.
Fast? OMG this car is fast! My wife and I are the only ones to drive it, I won't let my kids use this car at all because of the speeds it can generate in seconds. If I don't let them use it, they can't screw it up or end up killing themselves or others.
Definitely NOT a car for young people that think they are invincible!
If you think you may be interested or anyone else in the area,,, just send me a response here.
No big deal one way or the other, I don't need money, I don't need the car either.
Just something to think about, maybe you or someone else would be interested,,,,, who knows...
      Fun to drive? You bet!

If you think that SLK32 hauls, then you should try the SLK 55 version.

I want to think that my ‘18 GTI benefits from VW having been involved with the supercar development. Cheaper parts for your Lambo and my econobox is surprisingly well refined

Hoovie with what you say at the end about people calling it not a real lamborghini isnt because of the volkswaggen group ownership, its the design, and part of the use of materials, as around this time when that car was new I looked at a special edition turbo beetle, an orange turbo S, which saabkyle actually has a video on
its using the same seat material as that, and Leonardo Fiorvante didnt add any color accent details to the car, as one of the tricks Marcello Ghandini used on the countach was actually black lining strips around the flare to break up the body and to give it some definition
when the VW group took over it was like someone took all those specalist details and introduced a blow torch to it, like the closest I've seen the VW group come back to that was with the 50th Aniversary version of the Aventador with solid colors and a two tone paintjob that finally made it look italian.
and the latter versions of this car do reintroduce some of that italian flare to it, which could be put on with a body piece or two or some choice color accenting
but its just that its like the passion was gone in the styling and the design, like what is the most noted thing about italy and rome
its lineage, its design, and art, the germans were just too static about it, and what made it worse was the V10 models which really drove forth this point
take any audi R8 of this period and put it against a gallardo, blind fold someone and then show them the interior, and ask them, which one is the lamborghini, and which one is the audi
and I guarantee you every single person will say the audi is the lamborghini.

My dad had one of those slk’s in silver, and was such a fun little car to drive. Was like an obnoxiously fast go-kart 😂 sadly when he got rid of it to hop in something new, i didn’t have the money to buy it off of him. Would have loved to own that thing. Not really a car I would go out looking for, but if you want a fun weekend hard top convertible, and come across one for a ridiculously good price, 101% buy it.

Nothing wrong with getting some help about fixing mental health. Sometimes going to friends and relatives to talk about stuff isn’t the way to go. It’s hard to say certain things bc you may get thought of differently. I found this out when going through my divorce. God forbid if you talked to the other side’s family or friends about an issue & you don’t want to bother your own families also. We went and tried counseling and after she said she was done bc she couldn’t take what I had to say I stayed in the counseling bc I had a lot of stuff I had to get off my mind. It helped to make me feel like I was normal again and didn’t have to clam up to talk to someone bc I thought it was just going to get into an argument.
But sorry for your loss. The pandemic didn’t help anyone deal with grieving for anyone who passed.

Hoovie be sure to get the right replacement Bosch intercooler pump and check on the supercharger oil, didn't hear the supercharger whine so I'm wondering if it's in limited mode. Car still moves quickly in that mode but it heat soaks quickly.

I had the 5V fuse on my SLK32 compressor keep blowing, and seriously reducing the power. It took a while, but I found out that Mercedes recommend a 7.5V replacement! It worked fine after that.
