Schwalbe claims that the One Tubeless Road Tire is their fastest and most reliable yet.
Schwalbe was so focused on making this their best road tire yet that they went through more than 50 prototypes and built a brand new factory to produce nothing but this very tire. The One weighs in a little heavier than the Ultremo ZX, but the advantages that it brings to the table more than cover the disadvantage of a few grams.
From the onset, Schwalbe desired for this tire to have extremely low rolling resistance while still providing great grip in the wet and while turning, and they achieved this with their new Triple Star Compound. Not only does this compound perform better than previous ones, but when paired with a V-Guard protection layer, it also provides improved cut and puncture resistance. All this, combined with the fact that it can be run tubeless, means that it truly could be Schwalbe's best road race tire to date.
