The new bikes have a much flatter tourqe curve when you de-cat and de-baffle the exhaust and modify the airbox inlet boot. With a 17 tooth countershaft sprocket a '22 Speed Twin pulls forever!
Great video. Beautiful bike. My question is this: I own a big cruiser (so I know nothing about these kinds of bikes) and I want something for the twisties, so should I choose this gorgeous machine or a Speed Triple RS? Thoughts? Cheers!
Speed triple is way more comfortable because of the handle bar position is higher. Thruxton has clip ons and my wrist hurt after about 40minutes. Still I don't mind riding either or. The Thruxton gets so much attention and has that English twin engine which I'd say may feel more familiar to a cruiser. The thruxton is more unique. Speed triple and street triples are everywhere. Totally up to you though. Maybe cruiser to thruxton will be a big change in comfort simply due to the handle bars.
I know the answer to this question may be “it’s called a Speed Twin” but why wouldn’t Triumph produce a Thruxton GT? After having ridden one, my impression is that tweaking the ergonomics to address the needs of my “experienced” body would have me scratching at my wallet.
I will keep it in my living room when I can't ride anymore. It's a work of art.
Same here it is standing in my living room winter time. 😊
Great review.... Just picked up the Thruxton R.... Figure the bike is probably capable of going faster than I should, no need for the RS lol
A speculative shake of the piggy bank says no, the heart pleas yes😂
Happy with my 2017 Thruxton R. Nice improvements but not enough to make a change. Only complaint is lack of tubeless tires.

Speed Twin is basically a Thruxton with a more upright riding position. The new ones are plenty fast and handle very well with just a shock upgrade.

Crankshaft info?
Great bike but an over use of superlatives - iconic, truly authentic etc
If money was no isue I would like to have one
Thailand build a great machine for sub minimum wages, Profit Profit Profit, way to go Triumph!
Do a review of the Speed Twin. I dare you. You have no idea how
good these bikes are. It's a Thruxton with a flat bar.
overpriced
How much is it?
