    I owned the first year one. Coolest looking Sporty ever! Changed to mids and the handling improved immensely. Rear shocks are horrible, though, and the stock seat really sucks. Changed it for a springed one (not from Harley..) I miss the little bike... I would have it back on a heartbeat, and would do something about the suspension. Great for around town. Great video!

    When riding ANY motorcycle, it depends a lot on the age of the driver. Way Back in 1983, I was just starting, what would be a Twenty year career, in the U.S. Air Force. The only transportation I had was a 1981 Kawasaki 550 GPZ. I was 22 years old at the time. I was stationed at Dyess AFB located in Abilene Texas. I rode that bike home to Northeast Arkansas and back on a two week leave. A 12 hour ride one way! I rode it home and back with no issues, except some rain. Now, I turn 58 years old in about a month. No Way could I make that ride today on that same bike. Maybe, just maybe, I could on a Goldwing. Love your channel and thanks for reminding me of my youthful days. I live a very modest life now, but looking back, God has always been good to me!

    I have a 1990 Sporty 1200 with drag bars and forward controls, can confirm, not comfortable for long distance rides but it’s fine for an hour or two. It’s a fun setup though. I’ve got a bigger tank, it’ll get me about 120 miles down the road even hot rodding it the whole way.

    I daily a 48, and I’m always on the freeway or highway. Haven’t had a problem even took a sideswipe from a car and manage to keep the bike up. It has plenty of power for the road. I have a large sissy bar where I at times put a large hiking bag and go from Ontario to San Diego with 50 plus pounds of gear. With only 1 gas stop. Does very well. That’s a total of 88 miles for me.

I did a stage 1, vance hines full short shots, joker high flow intake, fuelpak fp3. It rips. The only downside is the 2.1GAL, but u can put an iron 3.3GAL on it or a 4.3GAL superlow xl883L tank on it

    Those 1200 Evo's are no joke. They make plenty of power and torque. If guys rode their 40hp Panheads cross country, there's no reason you can't ride your 68hp Evo cross country. That's how I look at it.
    Also, Evo's are the best engine Harley ever made on my opinion, and they respond the best too modifications.
    Edit: Shit my first bike was a 42hp Honda Shadow 750, I rode that bike everywhere, in every weather, rain snow or shine, up mountains, in Twisties, and I'm a big guy. It did just fine on the highway, would easily cruise at 65 -70, but anything more than that and she struggled with me on it.

    I own a 48 and I can say 1 thing that annoys me and maybe it’s me I don’t know but when I’m on a freeway especially, I feel the bikes a bit light for the winds. Like the bike doesn’t feel solid on the ground. It kinda swerved. Again maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m a chicken. But that’s what scares me about my 48. Already thinking of getting a heavier bike like a fat bob or a soft tail.... please comment let me know if anyone agrees or is it me.

    The gas tank issues aren't really THAT bad. I commute 40 miles a day round trip to work and filling up every two or three days doesn't bother me. The bike looks awesome and is fun, that's all I care about.

      Does your mom ride it with stock forward controlls? And how tall is she if you dont mind me asking. I plan to get the 48 as my first bike: im 5’6 kinda short and will leave the forward controlls maybe depending if they are more comfy for me. What you think?

      Nice. Im getting the 48 as my first harley as well, matter fact, my first bike lol. I’ll be upgrading the tank as soon as i can aswell since i’ll be doing long distance riding atleast 10 times a year so its a must. And might buy a fairing for when i travel because im also a very very light person i only weight like 120 so i dont want that wind blowing me off the bike at 90mph lol. im also short. 5’6 5’7. Hope those forward controlls do fine for me. And I really wanted to go for the short shot exhaust but since they are stupid loud i might just got for some cobra speedster 909’s probably. More quiet pipes but still loud, wont bother me listening to music on the ride. What you think? How tall are you btw? Are you sticking with forward controlls?

      @@Cheaps928 sounds like a good plan for sure..I’m just waiting for the new 2021 line to come out and make sure we have a 48 to buy! Yeah I’m 6’ tall and 255..I’m pushing it on the “too big for this bike” saying..but I’m doing it anyway..agree with you about the short shots..my neighbors won’t be too happy ..may look another direction as well..

    I ride 45 min to and from work. Not issues. Any longer there will be ass fatigue for sure lol but I love riding everywhere on my girl. I love the customization. I fill up once a day and it cost me 484. So really for let that bother. You also have a reserve tank and plenty of time to actually find a station. But it's a sexy fun bike.

    A guy I work with said he had a Kawasaki ninja zx10 and he rode it from where we live in Kentucky down to Daytona beach Florida about 900 miles or 12 hours and when he got down there he sold it and bought a cheap truck with the money because he said he was not driving that thing back 😂

    How does it compare with the Vulcan s? Especially what's the difference between the performance of both bikes?

    • @sleeper.simulant7327
      @sleeper.simulant7327 5 лет назад +1

      rishabh tripathi the 48 makes significantly more power (74 hp I believe) and a lot more torque (either close or just over 80 lb ft torque) in the 1200cc configuration. The Vulcan S is quite peppy though and makes more then enough power for highway cruising, and weighs a lot less too. Not really a fair comparison, the Harley Street 750 is a direct competitor to the Vulcan S, they are closely matched
