Great vid, thanks for the ride along. Love this machine, especially that auto trans and the fact that the zorst is not stupid loud. Kudos to the Boss Hoss engineers.
You know the coolest thing about the Boss Hoss? It's that you can run it at 1300 rpms and go 80mph. Realistically the engine has enough power to do a high idle at highway speeds. Just imagine how long the engine would last, almost zero engine wear. I'd have them build mine with the tallest gears you can possibly get, so the engine is just creeping along at 80mph.
If you want to draw attention to yourself, get a Boss Hoss. The first, and only, time I saw a Boss Hoss was back in 2009 in tiny Austin, Nevada when a rider pulled into the motel parking lot on a Boss Hoss. Let's just say the spectacle got the attention of everyone in town and he quickly drew a crowd.
This has been my dream bike ever since me and my dad went on one of their demo rides back around 2006. I rode one of their small blocks, but even that was freaking amazing. I miss you pops.
I don't know if I should make this constructive criticism or just a helpful tip, but if you can change the shutter speed of the cameras you use, you can completely eliminate screen/LED flicker, because if you "match the frames", the camera will see everything on the screen at once, and depending on the screen, it could be 1/24 of a sec for car lights or dashboards (24hz), it can be 30hz, or 60hz. if you use gopros, GoPro has ProTune which allows you to change the ISO, exposure time, and shutter speed. hope this helps!
the weight kills it, it's actually pretty slow really compared to quick litre bikes. Lots of power comes with LOTS of weight and these engines are very inefficient. A BMW v8 would be a much better choice.
@@philtwowheels it has a better power to weight ratio than a BMW S1000RRM, a kawasaki zx10r, and a Suzuki GSX-R1000R so it wouldn’t be too slow the only real drawback is drag

I have a 92' Bosshoss w/ 350 and I took clutch booster off on purpose. Too many linkages to adjust. As you slow down I pull clutch in with foot because hand pull stretches cable to fast. After clutch in and before I stop I grab clutch by hand then put both feet down at stop. Take off using hand only. I've broke everything on it, except Chevy motor , at least twice, axels , calipers, risers , motor mounts , frame , bell housing , radiators, sprockets. You name it. This is how sick I am.... I put water squert pump to smoke back tire without stretching my #80 chains. Uses Harley starter button by throttle. ;). Back tire is 235/70/15 on 8",x15" Chevy wheel. Screw round tire. I raise bike up too. Broke swing arm twice. No return springs on throttle. I also have '17 Indian Roadmaster & 92 FLHST.
It does not flicker like that in 'real life' It's messing up because the display is LED and it pulses out of sync of the cameras framerate. Sometimes you see modern car tail lights flicker in videos for this exact reason.
" Boss Hoss is on top of the food Chain " Yea right . Get any modern 1000 CC Supersport next to that Big Block V8 and the Hoss ist crushed in every discipline. Still a cool Bike tho
Nah it won't crush it. U just can't put the power down with the tire thats on it. Don't kid yourselves the big block bikes boss hoss makes are unreal. Ive ridden one. They are scary, can spin tire at 80mph Buddys father also has one with a 450hp sbc 383 that one i custom painted years ago and rode several times. It was a the the world of wheels in Chicago last year. And I've owned a zx14 and many other liter bikes mostly hondas, turbo vrod, ebr 1190sx. Lots of powerful bikes, boss hoss is a powerful torquey motor just pushing itself along. Traction is the only issue. That 600hp big block is fast in a 3500lb car let alone a 1300lb bike. Its it a novelty bike yes, but they do handle and stop amazingly well for its size. If u get a chance to ride one you won't forget it. Its actually quite an engineering marvel to make a 1300lbs V8 comfortably rideable.
Set a guy who's never written one. Like the other guy said you just can't get the power to the ground. You could spin the tires at 100 miles an hour on this bike. Believe me it's really crazy turn on 1000 with a couple hundred horsepower.
My NESCO transmission failed at 8000 miles on my 502. It was a 2002 bike. My bike weighed 1500 pounds and although it was a conversation piece it was by no means a precision built bike. It took Monte Warne (company owner in Dyersburg, Tn) a few years to get the old clutch type unit (I rode one in Arlington, Tx at Boss Hoss of Texas in 1999) replaced with the NESCO unit and then I purchased a 2000 model with a 350 (ZZ4 crate 350) engine. The NESCO unit was sort of similar to a GM Powerglide transmission with first range by pressing the shifter down and second range by lifting the foot lever up. The reverse feature used an electric solenode in the transmission and a switch to engage it. That feature lasted maybe a year before it failed on the 350 version. The other failure occurred at 80 mph in McKinney, Texas on the 502. The transmission went to pieces. I pulled the transmission out of the bike. It was designed with a bell housing with torque converter going into the transmission oil pump and the secondary shaft going to a beveled gear that drove a ring gear (like a differntial) and your 90 degree output began there. It had a shaft inside another shaft going through a planetetary gear set (the part that failed) into the clutch plates and the inside shaft went through the outside shaft to the sprocket on the left side of the bike. Pretty simple design and apparently Monte laid out a chunk of money to get that design from NESCO. A Gates Belt drove the rear wheel. Here's the real kick in the butt. NESCO wanted $5000 for a new unit. That ended my affair with Boss Hoss. I will give Boss Hoss credit for design of all their products (trikes, Boss Fly, etc...). It is all American to pull this off (V8 in a bike). Another company did it too but won't mention their name. I'm a gearhead too. Pilot, classic car restorer, engineer, and bike rider). Since the Boss Hoss days (2000-2005) I rarely see a Boss Hoss. Maybe 3 times in the past 18 years. I wish Boss Hoss the best and I assume they have improved a great deal. However, $50,000 for a Big Block can get you a lot of bike and a precision technology bike. There are many out there. I have a new Triump Rocket 3 GT now and love it. It is ride by wire. And it accelerates much faster than either Boss Hoss I owned with a lower center of gravity. Spend your money as you wish. But don't expect to weave around in Custer State Park on a Big Block bike because all you do is try to keep it upright and turning.
Man you just took me back on one of my riding days. Unfortunately my baby is at a sober living property and since I left without graduating, the director won't give me my bike back and I made the mistake of leaving with him nothing the keys and the title. I honestly thought I was going to come off that bike. I have no idea the speed we reached. I told that story to Bill who replied with 8 words I would hear many more times regarding Terry's XS1100 turbo, "Where are you going to ride a rocket?" Hearing him say that as many times as I did, I heard it a LOT, made it that much funnier when he showed me his XS1100 turbo that was faster than Terry's. And yes, the first words out of my mouth were, "Bill, where are you going to ride a rocket?" To which he could only laugh with a knowing look on his face. He is quite the character.
Love your shameless devotion to giving the word, brother!
Don’t ever stop with The Word of wisdom. I believe that’s the most important aspect of your channel! Thank you for sharing and the experience! 🙏🏽❤️
It’s heavy, dumb, and nuts.... IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO RIDE ONE :D
Honestly they are pretty fun. They stop and handle very well. Just scary looking over at your throttle hand knowing if u give it full twist shits gonna get real. The have power that cannot be described.
@@fvgc454ss when you said give it a full twist shit is gonna get real, I almost spit out my coffee because you couldn’t be more right lmao 🤣
Love your videos. I ride a 2015 ultra limited low with the tire shredder kit. Its not at all unmanageable. Dyno has me at 103 HP and 123 ft lbs of torque. I'd love more power. But it is very much a daily rider as it sits now. Please keep up the great work.
Awe inspiring. Love this review. Love the scripture. Safe riding, brother!
PLEASE ROLL UP ON OTHER BIKERS FOR THEIR REACTIONS!! It would be awesome 🤣🤣

At around 75 on my magna, the wind would really start to toss me around. I can't imagine any faster on a cruiser without a windshield.
gone well over 100, windshields are for geezer glides
Are you little girl?
@@noremorse4379 No, but I'm not a heavy guy either.
The brutal power and mass of these machines is attractive. The steering head bearings must be under a lot of stress. And the forks. Springs. Amazing.
"It takes 30hp to lift my kick stand!" lmfao, that was epic XD
I never thought I’d never see the day a 496 big-block stuffed into a motorcycle
SAME LMFAO!!!!
This has been my dream bike ever since me and my dad went on one of their demo rides back around 2006. I rode one of their small blocks, but even that was freaking amazing.
I miss you pops.
I hear happy. It`s very rare to sense the happiness when watching these videos but this oozes happy.
This channel is very informal thank you for doing what you do
I don't know if I should make this constructive criticism or just a helpful tip, but if you can change the shutter speed of the cameras you use, you can completely eliminate screen/LED flicker, because if you "match the frames", the camera will see everything on the screen at once, and depending on the screen, it could be 1/24 of a sec for car lights or dashboards (24hz), it can be 30hz, or 60hz. if you use gopros, GoPro has ProTune which allows you to change the ISO, exposure time, and shutter speed. hope this helps!
Pretty he blurred it on purpose so the actual speed didn't show up for legal purposes.
@@Steve61084 bless your heart
Whenever I see a Boss Hoss owner I think "wonder how he makes that much money?"
More like, I wonder why he is so insecure. 😂😂
Ow much does the new red cost?
How much the new ones cost?
wonder how he's still alive lmao
@@Morten_Nielsen1979 I think I just found it online for $67k.
I was waiting for a 0 - 200 mph time
the weight kills it, it's actually pretty slow really compared to quick litre bikes. Lots of power comes with LOTS of weight and these engines are very inefficient. A BMW v8 would be a much better choice.
@@philtwowheels the one dude has a 1200 hp version. That would be much faster than a liter bike
@@philtwowheels it has a better power to weight ratio than a BMW S1000RRM, a kawasaki zx10r, and a Suzuki GSX-R1000R so it wouldn’t be too slow the only real drawback is drag
@@daytonraught629 I heard that guy throws his balls overboard and drags them along the ground to slow down.

I’ve been looking at motorcycles on the internet for almost 2 months. I think I am ready for a HOSS
Love how You read a script before you Leave Keep up the Awesome work
I had a gen 2 vmax, which walks all over a stage 4 Milwaukee 8 in terms of raw power, and it was perfectly streetable so I can imagine the big boy Harley's feel perfectly fine on the street. Probably really nice, actually, since unlike the vmax they're made to be kinda comfy haha.
Vmax is absolutely comfortable what are you talking about
The Sound is amazing 👍👌
Man you definitely gona need those words a wisdom when you driving that beast
I also have '17 Indian Roadmaster & 92 FLHST.
ok, now you are my favorite channel on youtube
13:00 the speed dash is driving me crazy!! Lol
Got a seizure...
That dashboard is utterly fecking ridiculous. Can’t imagine how distracting it would be at night.
@@42WasTheAnswer pretty sure it’s because of the camera. If you record a pc monitor it will do the same thing
It does not flicker like that in 'real life' It's messing up because the display is LED and it pulses out of sync of the cameras framerate. Sometimes you see modern car tail lights flicker in videos for this exact reason.
@@42WasTheAnswer it's not actually flickering dude. Have you ever seen a crt in slow motion? Same concept.
I think that you may actually like running out of gas or being really low on gas.
He said you can get 20mpg and it has a 8 gallon tank so that is about 160 miles of range so it not that bad
This is what they mean when they say "you gotta get yourself a reeeaaalll mans bike"
The brake booster/clutch assist is a datsun B 210. I remember the red white and blue bike. Worked at lawrencville ga Boss Hoss , for Kent.
I love how you read a scripture before every ride.
Always keep your faith brother!!
Now that is a great beginner bike

Yet this still somehow has a nicer interior.

Definitely would like to see a drag race against a 1000cc street bike. Either from a full stop or a rolling start
I really wanted to see you ride them. But when you prayed I was done.
Love it. Keep it going.mabey one fine day, i believe i could have one. PS never would wrap it around a tree.so good bike.
"The new honda goldwing" :,D
I had a huge smile on my face the entire video. Love this monster. 🤣
" Boss Hoss is on top of the food Chain "
Yea right . Get any modern 1000 CC Supersport next to that Big Block V8 and the Hoss ist crushed in every discipline.
Still a cool Bike tho
H2R would crush the Boss Hoss, a novelty bike at best.
It's a great bike for the first & last time. It was nice to know you. RIP.
Great bike! Amazing bike! I may have a seizure though from the gauge flashing constantly inducing a full throttle into a tree as you put it. Lol
If I ever need this bike for my ego I'm just calling it quits! 😂😂 It sounds incredible though!
My dad had a ls3 boss hogg my 09 r1 would gap it like it was a 600
Love that you do the words of wisdom!! Just found your channel, God bless you
My NESCO transmission failed at 8000 miles on my 502.
My only consolation is that it is a cheap 1999 YAMAHA Road Star , but I sure do miss riding.
Imagine a 6 speed… that’s all it needs
tho it is possible to the engine to have a 6 gear transmission. it's not humanly possible to use them.
