      @@ceec6923 I'm taller and it fits great! I even have the dragbar without any discomfort... But do choose the forward controls! The mid controls tend to be in the way when you stop and put your foot on the ground and your legs are more bent. Get ready to scrape those pegs real hard, I have taken an inch off of them already...

      @@andreasjondesouza7067 I would suggest forward controls to have a nice legs position, they won't be streched like you see a lot of shorter people are. Other than that, I am two inches shorter than you and I am just fine. You should go to a Harley dealer, they gladly let you try out their bikes, that's how I chose mine...

    The tank is ridiculous.
    I was getting 45 miles on it.
    Had to change it for a nightster tank.
    The constant shaking done my neck n back no good at all.
    After market goods are the price of a kidney or 2.

    Looking at getting one of these. Was concerned about power as coming over from sport bikes. Think you absolutely hit nail on the head with the customisation comments. I love the fact I can do whatever I wonna do it to make it look individual. 😃

    Top vid 😉
    Definitely agree that this is one of the best looking Harley's on offer
    It would be the one I'd pick with a bit of customizing 😉 sounds like you have some fantastic dealers out there that appreciate thier customers 👍

    I'm not the Harley type, I've ridden sportbikes, and now naked bikes, since the 90's. But I was in a shop yesterday getting a title notarized and they had a Forty Eight with some kind of retro glitter paint. The instant my eyes hit it I fell in love and I just wanted to hop on and ride away. Very cool bike. Appeared much smaller than I was expecting. Seems like a bike really fun to sling around.

  • @keviny9392
    @keviny9392 5 лет назад +6

    I love my 2014 Forty-Eight. I am 5'9" 150lb. The bike fits me perfectly. Few gripes though, the peanut tank is way too small. After 48 miles, the fuel light will come on. Would have been nice to get 6 gears instead of 5 as the bike does vibrate quite a bit. For fuel consumption, I am averaging only around 36 mpg.

    • @69FOSTER
      @69FOSTER 5 лет назад +1

      My 2018 Sportster 48 fuel light went on at about 45 miles also. One rider claimed about 80-90 miles per tankful, but I'm skeptical about that number, so far, the mileage has been less than that. I'm just under 5'9'' and the bike fits me fine, too. Just would like a little more upright riding position instead of leaning forward, I don't know why Harley doesn't make handlebars that pull back like on the Indian Scout and Kawasaki Vulcan S. Overall, I love my Sportster 48 though. This video review is well-done and accurate.

    Shame you didn’t have some loud pipes on the 48 because the ride experience is a whole new ball game.
    It's the sound that makes the nimble sportster.
    You can change comfort levels with different seats and change performance with different stage tunes.
    Its good bike, endless customs options.
    I'd like you to do a 'keep it real' review of the 114 breakout and 114 Fat bob next. Good torque machines but heavier but I'll think you'll enjoy those rides aswell.

      Its the looks that sell the 48...the biggest (err smallest) part of that is the tank.....which is why the 48 exists, its to celebrate the 2.2 peanut that debuted in 1948. Without that tank, its just a fat tired iron. I've toured a bunch with my 2016 48 and in most cases the baggers are stopping to stretch before Im out of fuel anyway.

    F#@k how iconic the idiotic peanut tank is it looks shit, and it holds jackshit. Neither recommends it. I'f I bought a Forty Eight, I'd straight away turf that crummy peanut tank for a different tank which I actually liked. A tank that looked good on me Forty Eight and carried a useful amount of fuel.
    Sorry if it comes off a little harsh, got to reach into the soul and its a tough dig.

      Then it wouldn't be a 48. The bike is literally named after the 1948 Harley with the peanut tank. Buy something else if you don't like it lol

    So Tim Westwood moved to Thailand, dyed his hair blonde and started reviewing bikes? Wow, good for him.
