I love my sporty. The fact Harley are ending them is criminal. It's the best selling bike in their range. They are as much weight and power that I can handle. So sad.

Not many models of harley appeal to me. I just bought this in a 2012 model with laced wheels and freedom pipes. I get compliments all the time on it. Can't beat the evo either!
Your a good, enthusiastic reviewer, and a fine salesman. I have one for the last four years with 26,000 miles on it criss-crossing Europe. For me, it is the best looking Harley and motorcycle. One point I don’t agree, the clutch is flawed - mine packed 10,000 miles ago - the brass rivets got loose and damaged the disks and housing. But I love it nevertheless.
In my place the sale of the Nightsters is nearly zero 😂 I have never seen anyone riding that thing even in a HD event. Sportster S is cool but can’t never reach the Evo Sportster’s position.
The last harley-davidson that looks, sound, feels like the bikes of the 60's 70's 80's .Before bikes got over Refined. Even better my 1985 Sportster X.L.X 61 inch IRON HEAD. They had some vibration, thay made noise thay were made of metal very little plastic. I was THERE. 😊😊❤
Love my 2022 48, beautiful bike, had to change the slips to some cobra neighbor haters and the seat, but the bike is immaculate, in the shop right now because a lifter went out (unique to my bike wont happen to 99.9% of them) last year of em as well so can't ever get rid of the ol girl! awesome review thanks for the video!
great looking bike, but i cant get past the "bare" backbone between the tank and the seat. Maybe i'm missing something, but it looks like they just used what they had on the shelf as spare parts when it came to the seat and or the tank. If they made the tank longer to fill in that gap, they could get another 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon capacity in the tank.
Totally agree with you about that. Something I wondered about myself. And I for one would welcome an extra 3/4 of a gallon of gas on that bike. I understand the look they want and do think it's Sharp but I'm for a larger tank too.
@@apocaalypso Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, looks like the tank is wrong for the bike, and that 1 thing alone would keep me from buying it.
I own a 48 sporstster and love it but to say they have great brakes, they are good enough. twelve years ago I traded in my Ducati 996 for softail standard and when I left the show room for the first time, I thought this bike wasn't going to stop at the set of lights. You get accustomed to it and it becomes normal.
I think what you're saying is it's relevant to what you're used to. I agree. However, in general Harley brakes are pretty good :-) not Ducati good though :-)
@@fuzzyamericanbiker6461Yeah, your wright I might be comparing apples to oranges and there's nothing wrong with there brakes. The new sporty's these days with the twin disc brakes are probable a cut above but I love the old style 48.
I always fancied a Sportster 1200, but after seeing a beautifully modified 48 at the side of the road but ended up buying a Breakout 114 years later which I still own. But mate, the comment that Harleys always have great brakes I can’t agree with. The first ride of a Harley Davidson was on a Rocker and my initial thoughts were “shit brakes, shit handling, lovely lazy sounding engine”. One of those three points along with the riding position just got under my skin hence I now own a Breakout now after years of sport bikes, super bikes, muscle bikes and retro bikes. In general, great brakes they do not have ! Adequate at best much like their handling. However, coolness they have in spades ! Sorry to disagree with what was a generally very good enthusiast & well put together video. I just felt I needed to offer my personal stance & honest opinion.
I'm guessing our idea of what good brakes are differ. Having grown up in the era of drum brakes and mechanical disc brakes (disc with cable operated caliper) I consider most, if not all, modern disc brakes to be predictable & consistent, meaning we can count on them work well. Some modern motorcycles do have very aggressive brakes and many riders think this is better, for those riders they are. However, some of us want brakes that match our relaxed easy going riding styles. HD brakes do this. Have given a great deal of thought into how to relate the differences between modern motorcycle brakes to the viewer. I'm thinking I need to revisit this. I always appreciate constructive, informed input. Thanks! PS Love that Breakout...Wahoo!
It is an absolute shameful disgrace that Harley quit making the Evo sporty! At first, I didn't care because they are so plentiful in the used market. But after a year without them and knowing good and well that it wasn't E5 compliance that killed the air cooled Evo (royal Enfield and other brands are E5 ready?) I just miss these bikes so much! Tge new Sportsters just are not the same! They just don't check the boxes. I want another Sportster!
i wonder why harley doesn't just sell it with the things that make it "run better", since everyone runs right back out and spends more money on stuff. makes no sense to me.
I currently daily ride a 2016 Harley 48.
My favorite Sporty I've ever had.
Love the evo Sportster
I have a 2011 Sportster 48. The 1200 engine is amazing. I have a vance & hines exhaust its a beast. Love this bike. Monster!!

Yep. So true.

Have this exact bike and I love it. Did a stage one and put some 10" bars on it. Absolute perfection. Such a blast to ride!

I have the exact bike, my last bike. Started on a sporty, had a bunch of shovels, and a knuck, but I'll end it with the last sportster. I love it.
Beautiful motorcycle, for sure!
I love my sportster 48 idk what it is but she’s so much fun to ride.

Beautiful bike, I love that white tank with the black fenders. I wish the tank was bigger.
For sure 🙂

I'm sorry to see them go also. The evo was one of the best engines ever.
My third. All were/are great.
Ending this model is Harley’s biggest mistake ever.

They will regret it, i hope they get rid of their European CEO next.
Literally they could have done something to it to save the entirety of Harley-Davidson😂

I ride an 03 with hammer 1275cylinders. Best commuter bike I've ridden. Has great torque. Upgraded suspension, it handles great.
Hot dang, that sounds fun!
Literally just got the exact same bike color and all. Love it. Just need to make it a lil louder without voiding my warranty

I wonder if you can fit a 4gall tank as I live along way between gas stops
Very good question.
I think so, I put a king tank oversized peanut shape on my 1985 1000
Probably be awhile before they have the aftermarket one.
Put the xl1200c custom tank on it. 4.5 gallons

Not sure what they get for those. Call Loess Hills Harley-Davidson and ask for Jimmy. He can help you out. Tell him it's the Sportster in the video.
