Hi Jay - thanks for another solid video. I received my Mini last week and have it setup on a slight downhill in my garage (I'm still working on figuring out how to best level it off). I hit a number of shots and the data seemed a bit suspect. I am by no means a very long hitter but I can confidently say I can carry past 150 yards with my 8iron. However, the Mini was spitting out carries in the 135 to 140 range. I suspect the culprit might be due to how the unit is reading the launch angle as it was reading launches of about 29 degrees, which seem quite high for that club. Any chance you can try and do a test to see if you get similarly high launches if you're manufacture a downhill lie? I plan on testing again tonight or tomorrow on flat ground outside of the garage.
I forgot to add - I reached out to Uneekor and they didn't have any data to to understand the impact of unit tilt on the data collection; thus me asking you would be kind enough to give it a try.....The fact your video mentions no accelerometer make me think it cannot make any adjustments for tilt.
I can try to see if I can replicate it. They definitely clearly state the unit needs to be level and on the same level as the hitting surface so I would assume it is affecting things.

Have you noticed any ball speed discrepancies between your experiences with Foresight products and the Eye Mini? I saw a video on another channel where they tested the Mini side by side simultaneously with the GC Quad and the Mini was consistently reading 4 or 5mph faster and than the Quad. Have you noticed anything like that? I do wonder how accurate their test was and if the infrared lighting on the units interfered with each other. Thanks!
Have you found units like these that require a sticker on the club for club path data to be more accurate in those specific parameters than something like the Mevo+ that does not require a sticker for the same data?
I think path is fairly easy for camera or radar to pickup. As you can see in my past coverage I think mevo+ and these units too a solid job. It is just two separate ways of doing it, a camera tracking a dot vs a radar seeing the movement of the club head (many radars use camera as well as part of their data reading)
I think the closest you could get to a perfect model that you mention is to test out a GC quad/uneekor mini outside on a windless day and then use a trackman as well at the same time. Trackman would be the acid test, and I'd be curious how GC quad/uneekor mini compare to massive hooks, draws, push draws, etc. Would be a great side by side comparison and I haven't seen this sort of outdoor test anywhere on youtube
The problem is you can't setup both at once without possible interference of the two radars working at once. I have done this comparison with camera systems instead to ensure there was no interference.
Hi Jay. Thanks for all of the great videos. You obviously put a lot of work in. Two quick questions on the eye mini - 1) I set up and take down every time I hit. Is the eye mini finicky on setup? My impression with the BLP is that it is not - just plop it down and hit. 2) Can the e-ink screen be seen in low light? Is it back lit? Thanks in advance!

I can't speak for the Eye Mini, but the Eye XO is squirrely with high clubhead speeds. I DID ask Uneekor if the Eye Mini was capable of high swing speed data capture. Their response was that their target is the 99.9% of golfers who will never swing a club over 130... so that info coupled with what I've experienced on the Eye XO tells me that people with high swing speeds should stick with foresight, trackman, flightscope for now until some of these other companies upgrade their hardware.
I plan on doing some high club speed testing soon so hopefully that can verify it. I max at about 111-113 lol, so having someone else help me with that video. He is like 130+ I wants to say 😲
I think a comparison with Trackman (which most pros use) would give eye-mini some credibility for accuracy, no? This should be doable since trackman is radar based, so there should be no infrared interference? You've done these types of comparisons in your other videos...MLM2 vs. GC Quad, Skytrak vs. Mevo+ vs. QED, Mevo+ vs. HD Golf, Garmin R10 vs. Eye XO, vs. GC Quad. Hard to pull the trigger on eye-mini without some kind of accuracy credibility other than "it feels accurate".
So it actually wouldn’t. Trackman is not a benchmark for indoor accuracy. It actually calculates spin axis using impact location which can be missed at times. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a good unit but, not a benchmark. I have never put two powerful Infared units together, look back at my videos. The facts are is that I can see the interference first hand so I don’t want a video to be misleading. As I mentioned here in this video, I’m going to see if I could possibly get a handful of shots that appear to not have interference to show the data side-by-side. That’s something I’m working on.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos what about doing trackman outdoor with eye-mini....Even though it's not indoor, it's better than nothing in my opinion. Looking forward to your attempt at comparing with foresight. Love your content and trust your approach, so don't take these comments as a criticism. Its just that this would be a big purchase for me and would love to see a little more accuracy data.
@@SoundsofSulfur Yeah there is a mix of the two for sure I agree. For many it depends on the data they want. Trackman provides the full flight tracking and club data without stickers etc. But GCQUAD continues to impress with it's excellent spin and precisely measured club data (with stickers) But, as I mentioned above, Trackman uses a calculation for spin axis based on impact indoors and it not what I consider the "benchmark" for indoor accuracy.
i have a bud that owned a 3 bay simulator teaching facility, all trackman. Him and his partner learned and switched from trackman...i always found as a 2 cap indoor trackman overpriced under accurate.
Great video. Of these i would would lean towards the eye mini, strictly due to the 3rd party SIM support and that view software. I do also have to say that if space isn't a problem, a loaded Mevo+ gives you more club data, better software (MPO) and it's 1k less.
Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion, I do think there will be a lot of personal opinion weighing in. Some prefer to have the swing path video and impact image, others like the BLP pricing offered, some like one screen over the other and even the base software of each some prefer over the other. I hope I covered everything buyers should consider between the two! There is a lot to think about!
@@gator968right now yes. In future who knows. I don't trust that they won't make you upgrade subscription in future , one reason I went with Eye Mini. Uneekor appears much more friendly to external software.
I have the Launch Pro and love it. But the Eye Mini looks like a great launch monitor. I especially like the clubhead video. I'm not sure if it's possible, but would be nice if Foresight was able to integrate something like that in the GC3/LP. Competition is a great thing and leads to innovation and new features. Hoping these companies push each other to our benefit. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I have significantly tested GC3 and I agree it’s a solid unit. The swing path video and impact image is impressive for sure. I would assume they’re unit is capturing the same or similar looking image so it’s possible it might be a future enhancement.
bushnell owner.....connetivity issues....fsx play is dissapointing, not terrible but feels like a step back from some of their previous software and competition software.
Neither. Garmin R10 will suffice for almost anyone. For the space-constrained, the new Skytrak+ is good. But these other, vastly more expensive units simply don’t provide any substantial added value, despite their steep premium.
I think if you need a lower budget option, R10 is a good value, but those looking for measured data especially spin axis and have the budget then these camera units will stand apart and are tough to really compare. You have measured spin axis so not worries of gear effect causing opposite ball flight, you have measured club data vs radar, powerful base software from both, putting and short chipping, etc. I think you are right, there will be people R10 works great for, but, I want everyone researching to have a full understanding of the differences and why units have such a wide range of pricing and what they all offer. Just to say neither R10 is fine could be misleading. Thanks for watching!

Most pros still use trackman? Just based on seeing guys warming up on the range I see more gcquads than anything else
Many good options and personally presence or space restrictions are a big factor for sure. Thanks for watching!
BLP basic with GSPro is best bang for the buck
Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion, I do think there will be a lot of personal opinion weighing in. Some prefer to have the swing path video and impact image, others like the BLP pricing offered, some like one screen over the other and even the base software of each some prefer over the other. I hope I covered everything buyers should consider between the two! There is a lot to think about!
Sorry a bit late. So you only need basic subscription to run gs pro on BLP?
@@gator968right now yes. In future who knows. I don't trust that they won't make you upgrade subscription in future , one reason I went with Eye Mini. Uneekor appears much more friendly to external software.
@@gator968Not anymore. With the new foresight integration you need minimum Foresight Gold at $600/year to run GSPro
That’s too bad to hear about the connectivity, I thought that was resolved? The software is for sure personal preference.
Put a piece of tape over the middle camera and see what doesn’t get picked up…
It will not lock into the ball to hit if you cover cameras.
Thanks for watching!
false
try short chips or putting with the R10 or Skytrak+ and you will see the difference to GC3/Mini
Eye mini is way better deal
Thanks for watching. There will be a lot of personal preference as always I am sure when pricing and features are close :)
GC3 is way more accurate
@@Okheck please share how you determined this? I’m seeing nearly identical data so far.
so get of the fence😜, which would you buy?
@@clints8888 haha. It’s my job to be on the fence, helping others get off of it LOL
