    Great DIY setup. Had not seen anyone suspend the frame from the ceiling like that, but it is simple and effective.
    You should be able to reduce the bounceback by removing some of the bungees.

      Thanks for the kind words, the suspension has worked out so far.
      I will give that a try!

    Hi,great video.I have been using a simulator for about 3 years now.Hitting off and old range mat will eventually hurt your wrists.What you need is a 5' x 1' hitting strip laid into your present mat.They are really not that expensive now and offer a thicker and more forgiving feel.Fitting is easy,just cut out a slot with a sharp knife.Since fitting mine I've had no problems at all.

    • @ForjGolf
      @ForjGolf  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for the advice! I'll see what I can find. It would be nice to have that strip to replace rather than a whole mat also when it wears down.

      I second this. I bought more expensive hitting mat and the difference is night and day as they have more layers and the impact is less harsh. But for a home Sim I would use a hitting strip like suggested so you can easily replace it. I also use graphite shafts (first steelfiber, now fujikura axiom) and those have been unbelievable in removing wrist and elbow pain. Steelfiber feels very similar to steel shafts and the axiom while different feel performs better for me than steel. Btw thanks for the vid, am really keen to upgrade from the rapsodo mlm2pro and the eye mini lite is top of the pile as it seems to cover nearly all bases at the most affordable price.

      @tezzlacoilz Thanks for the comment! We are looking at different inserts but have yet to pull the trigger on any. I do highly recommend the eye mini but the subscription fee is kind of a bummer.

    Love the DIY nature of this build! I am in the research phase but am about to start buying things and putting them together. What graphics card do you have in your computer and what settings are you running GSPro on?

      I have a Nvidia 3060ti, but due to my projector I bought i can't utilize the card to it's full potential. I definitely recommend getting a 4k one.

    Do you think i can get away with running the ryzen 5 5500 processor with this. Also my pc has one ethernet port thats being used atm. So im confused on how i get around that issue.

    • @ForjGolf
      @ForjGolf  18 дней назад +1

      I'm not familiar with the amd cards but I'd imagine that it'd work fine. As far as ethernet connection, you really only need the one port going to the launch monitor if your pc does have wifi capability.

      Buy a cheap switch. Then you can run as many ether cables the switch can handle to whatever devices you want.

    What side curtains did you use?

    • @ForjGolf
      @ForjGolf  3 месяца назад

      Hi Mike, we just bought standard blackout curtains and have them around 8-10" from the wall. They're WAY cheaper then any other method we'd found and have worked out really well so far. An occasional hard shank will hit the wall but it doesn't have enough energy to make any real damage. Good luck with your build!

    Okay, I have been searching for a RUclipsr that doesn’t have a million subscribers (yet) and shows their set ups and reviews the EM lite (what I’m looking to buy). So questions:
    1. Can you speak on any misreads, inaccurate data, or downfalls you have had thus far?
    2. Could I request a video where you go through and just kinda play around with / demo the data and software that inherently comes with the EM lite? As in, click through the different club selection, how it stores your data, and generally any other features you see useful. That would be insanely helpful.
    3. Tips on how to convince my wife it’s time for me to upgrade.

    • @ForjGolf
      @ForjGolf  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for the kind comment!
      Miss reads were on my mind, too, especially after my initial research and looking into the skytrak. So far, with the EM, it hasn't given any misses, but it does have a "hitting zone" that if you're too close to the edge and you don't notice then it wont track it. So, more user error I'd say.
      As far as software on the EM, I don't use it because one of my needs going into the build was the launch monitor I want needs to be able to run gs pro. I spent probably 10 minutes in Uneekors range and it felt kind of arcade like. Also, the program isn't windowed (I'm sure there's a setting) and I couldn't get it on to the projector screen, so I just gave up. I will say that if you do want to run a third party software, then Uneekor makes you by their pro version, which is 200 bucks annually. (I think you have to do that anyways for access to their courses)
      To comment on convincing your wife, I asked mine and her response was, I've been having fun learning golf with you. The kids are getting better and you're home more. Lol I hope I was able to answer your questions well enough. Good luck, and have an epic day!
