Great video. Pretty cool that you posted it, even though you weren't swinging it very well that day. "Oh wow, I didn't even know there was a green over there." LMAO. I love the self-deprecating humor.
Ha! Thanks. I just remind myself it’s about the product or information. Nobody cares about my golf game. Although I do like watching other people’s pretty golf swings on RUclips…
It would be really interesting to see some impact view videos from the mini with the GCQ operating at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if the high speed strobe system of the GCQ might cause some interference with the mini. EDIT: Oh nm, I missed that you already had an impact view sample in the video. Good inclusion! EDIT2: I would be very skeptical of the pull hook on the Uneekor at 14:30. A low hook like that is never going to have high backspin like the Uneekor showed.
Good catch, you’re right.Every once in a while I will hit a massive hook that I just don’t believe and the sidespin and backspin will be pretty close to each other just like this.
Looks like for the ones that have quite a bit of spin difference, the horizontal start directions are a fair amount off as well. Not totally sure how they read spin or what not, but that could make sense on the reading being more or less using spin axis.
By carefully looking at the spin axis of the golf ball based on the slow mo in EM, you can actually see that the Uneekor got it right. For example at 11:23 the ball definitely had a small amount of draw spin, as opposed to foresight showing a slight fade
Great video. The quad definitely is the gold standard. I've been noticing a lot of glitches with my Eye Mini too. The slow software, frequent disconnects with the view software on both iPad and PC. Just as you said, the unit itself will pickup the shot but the connection is not completely stable with the view app in both modes. It seems like the software isn't there yet. I think they could have a killer launch monitor down the line with updates. The annoying part is the putting for me. Why have a putting mode and only display speed and angle? It just doesn't make any sense. That and the terrible connection interface and no android support.
My guess is the putting mode is there just to tell the cameras/algorithm to watch for a super slow ball. I didn’t show it in the video but I did compare putting with both and the Eye Mini consistently showed 0.5 to 1.5 mph faster ball speed on putts than Gcquad. All the glitches seem like they should be fixable so hopefully that happens!
Agreed. It has told me I lined up the balls to the right every time I’ve done it resulting in shots that start left. This video is the best auto align has ever done for me. I just manually align the eye mini when I play and it has done better for me. I’m not sure if there’s a problem or if it’s just really hard to align two golf balls that precisely.
In my experience, the mini under-reports the distance side-to-side. It might get the side spin number fairly correct, but visually it's been less than real.
do you guys know a source where we can see what are the updates exactly? I am curerntly on 2.2.8 but there is no release note that I can find...my data are way off....is there any optimisation that I should consider? avoid white walls. white tees? etc?
I see release notes inside of Launcher but nothing for the Eye Mini. Regarding bad data you can click submit feedback while inside of View and it's supposed to send them your last 5 shots so they can take a look. Other than that I would take a look at your impact video and see if you see anything that might be reflective or shiny in the background behind your feet. I'm getting some wonky data every once in a while too and I don't have much of an explanation...
Every time I’ve used auto align before this video it has me hitting big pulls that start around 3-4 degrees left. Just lining up manually has always worked fine but a good launch monitor should have an accurate alignment function. I don’t know if auto align has a problem or if it’s just really difficult to align two golf balls.
I did 🤦🏽♂️I was copying the file into downloads instead of programme files no wonder it wasn’t working haha. Appreciate the videos keep up the good work

I haven’t looked at that. I’ll check it out. Thanks

It definitely seems like auto align on the uneekor results in left bias, I wonder how manual align would fare

I disagree. Horizontal launch angle looked similar. Mini just isn’t great at reading side spin at the moment.

Great video!
Thanks!
I tested a BLP and Eyexo. Same results. BLP had a little lower launch, ball speed, and distance. Spin almost the same.
I’ve never used an eyexo but I’ve heard very few complaints about the data. Almost none.
I have seen quite a few videos where Autoalign on the Eye Mini tends to draw. If you just line up manually, should the result be better?

i would love for foresight to make so you can see video of the club, i mean it take around 6000-12000 pictures that should be able to make a video ^^
You can vote for that feature on feedback.foresightsports.com
It’s under the Need Your Opinion section. Maybe they will add it in the future.
@@friendly_golfer awsome i voted and wrote some ides! :D
Seems like the SkyTrak + was far closer to the gc3 than the eye mini.
Definitely very close with the irons but driver distance with the ST+ was shorter. Did you get yours set up with GSPro?
I did 🤦🏽♂️I was copying the file into downloads instead of programme files no wonder it wasn’t working haha. Appreciate the videos keep up the good work
I bet you could put two GCQuads side by side and end up with slightly different numbers too.
My guess is you're right but now I"m pretty curious to try it. I can't think of where to get another one though....
I don’t have a issue with it losing connection with
My mini… it’s connected to my router with no issues. Setup for DHCP… like my desktop…
Good to know. My issues have only been with the wireless methods and it worked perfectly for a few weeks.
