I just purchased the LP, thank you for this video as it has helped me understand some of the differences. I can fully say im completely happy with the LP
I've heard of folks doing the "makeshift quad", which is just a blp and then using a flightscope mevo for the club data. Saves a few thousand dollars and actually gets you more info! I'm super happy with my gc3, I would love face impact location but like you mentioned, I think the stickers would drive me nuts
lol that’s quite an idea but you’re right it’s actually cheaper! The stickers are just a big trade-off. I think that’s why it’s so damn accurate but you’ve got to keep up with them if you want them on all the time.
Great review. It was annoying enough putting on the GC3 stickers, but at least those rarely come off. Can't imagine having to put 4 per club and especially if the bottom ones come off. Have you ever thought of installing one of those trouble mats that Uneekor has into your extra hitting space? I've thought about installing that next to my hitting strip to somewhat simulate the rough and bunkers.
Love all of your videos a lot of info!!!! Have you been able to use the quad outside with a i pad connected to the quad and use the camera for recording video?
Thank you! I’ve only used the quad outside just by looking at the display but I could definitely use it with fsx pro on the iPad. I plan on using it outdoors more this year so I’ll probably try it out.
This is great thanks for being so transparent with this. I have a Mevo + with pro and face impact add ons and not having to put stickers on the clubs is awesome, they look like a pain in the butt. That said would you say the BLP with club data is a better overall package than the Mevo+ with the add ons?
If you're mostly using it indoors and with simulation like GSPro I think the BLP is an improved experience. If you're not doing simulation and using outdoors regularly you might miss the easy portability and all the extra data the pro package + face impact gives.
BLP will have accurate shot shapes and gear effect. It comes down to what you’re using these for. For game improvements then there’s only one choice, BLP.
How accurate is the Mevo + with pro package and face impact add ons. Have you compared the club data between the Mevo+ and the Quad. If I already have the mevo with add ons, purchasing a ball only BLP would be a nice setup.
I have a mevo+ vs GCQuad video on my channel that compares the shots. If I remember correctly they are actually closer than I thought but mevo+ does seem to have a problem with gear effect. I don’t think radar will ever be as accurate indoors as a camera based launch monitor. For indoor/outdoor it’s good option though. Someone just mentioned in a comment to me a BLP / Mevo+ setup instead of buying a GCQuad. Maybe that’s catching on…
I saw it at the PGA Show but I haven’t used one. It’s pretty much the same capability so it would just come down to if you want it to be portable or not. They’ve had the GCHawk out for quite a while so I would think they’ve got the overhead technology already figured out.
Tough to decide which launch monitor I want, really would like to have a GCQuad, but the cost is crazy high, also don't want to feel like I'm missing out if I go with lower priced Launch Pro or GC3
I know the feeling... Hopefully this video helped some. The Quad is awesome but I feel like the BLP/GC3 is about 70-80% the same experience. The good news is the Quad pricing has come down some since they released QuadMax. They also run promotions throughout the year so you could wait for the right time too.
This vid was a while ago so I am wondering if you went out to the range with your LM through the summer at all? I’m interested because in my mind, unless you’re going out to hit premium balls won’t your data get skewed somewhat with ball speed and distance hitting a variety of low quality range balls? Or are the differences too minimal to really make meaningful differences? Interested in any feedback you might have (unless you know a range where you hit can Pro V1s off into the distance? If so, good for you!!)
I've done very little practice with my GCQuad outdoors but I think the answer is yes, you will get different numbers with range balls. To me it's just something to keep in mind like wind and temperature. Practicing indoors tells me my carry distances with a ProV1, no wind, ideal temp, and my elevation. When I'm on the course I can adjust from there. Of course club data won't change and I like to watch my club path numbers mainly.
@@friendly_golfer Absolutely, I couldn't agree more RE: indoor use in 'perfect' conditions! Just something to bear in mind for all us amateurs who might be looking to buy a LM that is portable like the BLP, a QC or a Unekoor; we see the pro's doing this at tournaments on the range but they are (likely) being fed their preference of premium balls so the numbers make sense to the conditions they are hitting in; there is far less value in one of 'us' taking a unit to the range to hit smashed up, low quality range balls when we intend to use a Titleist, Staff or Bridgestone ball on the course. I don't even know the compression rating of the balls at the range, so really all I'm looking for at a range is shot shape and contact/feel, anything else is superfluous. Well, unless you're one of those animals that steals the range balls to use on the course, then it makes more sense ;)
Hi which launch monitor would you recommend if I planned to use it only outdoors at the range. I am an amateur golfer. Thanks in advance for your reply.
The Flightscope Mevo+. It's the most portable and works great with a phone or iPad. It also does not have a subscription. I recommend it to anyone that wants to primarily use the launch monitor outdoors at the range. Discount code: FRIENDLY friendlygolfer.com/recommends/flightscope-mevo-plus/
For me it's worth it. I watch my club path constantly and know where it should be. If it starts to slip out of the range I like I know I need to start working on some drills. But if you're not interested in your golf swing the fact that you can buy a "ball only" unit is awesome. So in other words if you are into game improvement then yes it's super helpful.
Okay, thanks! Also one more question about the quad…do you need the sticker markers on the clubs also for outdoor use if trying to get all the club data from the quad?
@@brianquintus5040 Yup, it's the same indoors and outdoors. You can either do the 1 dot for limited data or the 4 dots for full club data. If you're looking to buy a new one shoot me an email and I'll see if I can get you a deal from one of my Foresight partners. Bobby@friendlygolfer.com
Thanks for that, I will let you know since I’m still trying to decide. I have the Mevo+ with the pro package and I think it does a good job but I think my distances are a little off at times with the longer clubs. I’ve only had it for a few weeks so maybe just need to tinker around with it a little more. As of right now, I’m using it outdoors since I do not have a home built simulator but maybe will look into building one down the road. If I look into upgrading, I was thinking about the Flightscope X3 or switching over to the launch pro or GC Quad.
Hate to break it you bud but your impact is incorrect if you are placing the fiducial in that area of the club. Go watch some of the videos of the fitters and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I place them as they say to in the GCQuad manual. I've seen people say they lower the middle fiducials on irons because it looks like the impact is too low.
BLP is an absolute beast of a machine. Coming from an OG Skytrak there really is no comparison. Super happy with the upgrade.

Not many people that regret going with the BLP

Not really. I haven’t seen those trouble mats in use much so I’m not sure what to expect. Not sure if it’s worth the…trouble. lol
@@friendly_golferhaha fair enough. 😂

Not even close
Have you looked at the Foresight Falcon? I'm comparing to gc quad

Do you recommend the club data addon for $1750 for the BLP?

Does the GC Quad already include all the club data or is the club data an add on purchase?
I believe now they sell the original GCQuad with club data included but before it’s always been an add-on.

There’s a whole reason behind why it should be lower. Do some research and you’ll learn why.
15k lol tough to swallow
