- This is a quick review of the Harbor Freight Daytona 3 Ton Low Profile Steel Professional Floor Jack With the Rapid Pump. I picked this up over the weekend and thought it was worthy enough to promote on my channel. This is NOT a sponsored video, just a product I am happy I bought. If you are interested you can check out the Daytona jacks on Harbor Freights website, or at your local Harbor Freight Store. I would recommend it. If you want to know how this has held up over time, drop a comment down below. #HarborFreight #Automotive #Tools

Lawsuit was dropped because Snap-On’s “made in USA 🇺🇸“ parts was actually made from same company as Daytona in China 🇨🇳
Is that really why it was dropped?
No sh*t .Haha my snap on guy! told me to go get the Daytona hahaha
Gears & Gadgets yes, and i meant both parts are made by same company in China
Thats too funny ..well I got the green one .major upgrade from the 1.5 aluminum one I had lol
MrTheDays1 got the orange one
They had a coupon typo this weekend, picked one up for $80👍👍
adam c wth that’s a great price
They go for 129.99 at my local hf store 😓
They always have coupons lol Always be looking online before you approach that register is my advice. $80 is a sick deal though. Mine was just over $100 and I am happy with that price.
89 bucks on black friday
@@greatmindof1201 gunna pick it up for 99 in january for their liquidation sale
Just bought one this past weekend (without looking at reviews 🙄) Thanks for posting this. Proved my thinking was correct and pretty much in line with yours. Thanks again!
Just bought mine yesterday. I gotta say it's amazing, the built quality is just insane. Especially the paint job on it, it matches my car.
Did u add grease. And did u check if it needed hydrologic oil or bleeding out air?
Just got mine for Christmas🎄👍🤗... super excited to use😀
It is a REALLY nice jack.
Yes I agree with you 100% about the jack stands. Remember it only takes once for a car to fall on your head.
true
I was just looking for a jack for my Silverado. thanks for the review
No problem. Happy to help. I don’t think you can get anymore bang for your buck when it comes to a jack.
It's been a while now, how do you like it? Have you upgraded to another jack? I need to get a jack but my truck is stock lifted (Ram Power Wagon). I'd mainly be using it for my travel trailer, do you suggest this one, or the one that maxes out at a higher height?
Good comprehensive vid, I like Daytona jacks. Especially their long reach model. However I never trust Harbor Freight reviews. I have written a few and none were published they weren't terrible no profanity just not 4-5 star reviews. I emailed the company and they responded we reserve the right to post or not post your review, so essentially they cherry pick reviews.
Thank you!
I had to chuckle when you mentioned standing in the aisle looking at jacks for an hour trying to compare them. I have been that guy as well. 😆
Just bought mine with the same sale lol, these go on sale for $139.99 during the "Parking Lot" Sale just been staring at it in its box waiting to have time to unbox and use it.
I'm about to get one thanks for the review
The used car tire place where i live uses only Daytona Jacks and they abuse the hell out of them and they still hold up.
I've got the yellow Daytona 3-ton super-duty professional floor jack and it's been great the past couple years. I hope your's gives you as good a service as mine. Great video video and best of luck!
Yeah I’m loving mine so far.
Thanks this review made my decision to but this Jack I’ve been using a old Jack that the safety valve just busted on and been looking around for a new Jack
I just got one. I saw the $200.00 one but, I didn’t buy that one. I got a 3 ton low profile that was priced at around $145.00. It seems like it will be plenty enough for my needs. Much better than the tiny one I have been using. Thanks for the review!
Absolutely, Thanks for watching and commenting. It really is an awesome jack.
Yeah just got mine today and it's 150 now. Nice price
Hi, how do you still like your jack ? Did it perform as you hoped ? Thanks
Question: What jack stands did you end up getting? You mentioned Amazon having some locking ones for safety. Thanks for the video. Well reviewed.
Passion the content-- extremely user pleasant and whole lots to see!
Thanks
Litteraly have the same dilemma right now. Thanks for posting.
No problem. The Daytona is really solid. I have used it quite a bit and love it
How do you remove the rubber piece 🧐 that you said is for shipping purposes only thanks I can't figure it out lol
how’s the floor jack present condition?
This review was great, so many things you said that literally, is how I would think.
Thanks I appreciate that. Thanks for the kind words.
Same here, I too lookout for the bad reviews, and too spent 1 hours just looking at both of those and overthinking as to which one to buy. I was also in the way of someone who was looking for jacks, thank you for the review. As for the beer in the begging of your video, when you get a chance check out a Canadian guy who’s RUclips channel is called “Steve small engine saloon “, he always has a different beer as an intro, cool content if you’re into that type of help.
Just got it in blue. Looks good, works great.
"Staring at the jacks like a lunatic" don't worry bro that is me 100% too
I do this with every major purchase I make as well.
How’s the jack doing? Just bought one.
How is it holding up? I just got one tonight.
Didn’t really want to buy one but I recently got a truck and my low profile 1.5 just would not lift my truck safely I was using a 4x4 to extend the height but even then I could hear the wood crack. After use of this jack I am super happy with my purchase paid around $210 for mine.
What is the part called on the handle bar to twist the valve?
oh I don’t know. sorry.
Just curious how your jack is still holding up?
"Staring at the jacks like a lunatic" haha I did this when I bought my 20 gallon McGraw air compressor. Looked at the compressors for over an hour, they must have thought I was crazy too 😂 Just bought this daytona yesterday, hope it's held up well for you!
I LITERALLY had this exact conversation in my head today. The only difference between the 2 jacks (pittsburgh vs daytona) is the daytona has better casters and a rubber pad.
I went with the daytona. HF sent me a coupon for the daytona low profile 3ton for 119, i couldn't pass it up.
To everyone comparing the two, if the rubber pad and casters dont mean anything to you, save the money and get the pittsburg. Its literally the exact jack otherwise.
Yeah I agree with you. I think the extra money for the Daytona is worth it though IMHO.
Can you compare the weld job on them? Curious to see how different the quality control is.
That snap on case was specifically over the 3 ton SUPER DUTY JACK. They are very similar, but the snap on jack is shipped over here and assembled in America with different hardware and the daytona is slapped together over seas. But yes dont spend the money on the snap on, only ratchets and some hand tools
I got a motorcycle tire balancer from them this last weekend and it did better than the reviews showed. I might start going back to harbor freight
Interesting. I might have to check it out. I think I am going to pick up the motorcycle jack soon.
same i was in harbor freight looking at the jacks for a straight 20 minutes lol
lol it is disturbing to learn how long one man can stare at jacks.
Lol I'm about to go stand in front of the jacks and stare at them for a while As well. Jaja needing a jack need a good deal too
Cool ! HF gets crapped on for subpar stuff . Good to see that they have good stuff..
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I love cheap good stuff.
How is it holding up? Thinking about picking one up. But price now is $290. And snap is over 1K.
I'm crazy for one of these Daytona Jacks!
lol. They are awesome.
Just picked one up for 119. Orange low profile. Look forward to using it.
it’s awesome
Looks like you are able to pump it with one hand? Just bought one and it’s hard to pump…
Is ur Daytona car jack still working or no ?
I bought my Pitsburgh some 28 years ago, still can hold the front of my full size vehicles up with out coming down with in 2-3 hours.
But, I bought a 3 ton, Daytona 6 months ago, after using it 3-4 times, leaks pressure about 6 inches in 10-15 minutes if I don't use jack stands. Tried tightening handle for sure. No use. Harbor Frieght is the place for Jacks,..everything for me.
You’re right to be cautious about the jack stands, I did have one go on me before, I think I will invest in a pair with locking pins.
Yeah im always cautious getting under something that weighs 4000 lbs.
That's why I always put my wheels laying underneath where the frame would be. Just an exact fail safe
Just picked on up for black friday for $90! great deal on a good floor jack
Wow, that is a steal.
Saw your video on your Daytona jack. Is it what you expected? Thanks
I'm trying to decide between this jack and the extended reach version which has a 4" higher lift and a foot pedal.
Did you make a choice?
@@GearsGadgets I'm also interested on one of the high reach ones. I haven't been able to find coupons for those though, unfortunately. I refuse to pay full price for pretty much anything at HF haha I got a 20% off for anything, but it can't be used on floor jacks.
I’ve had the Pittsburgh model for @15 years or so, it’s been abused but still works great. I’ve been thinking about the Daytona & will keep the old Pittsburgh but will give away my trolley jacks, those are not the safest things ever made
Hey man just saw this video and subbed, four years later, is it still holding up good? Ford tech here looking to pick one up for professional every day use
First appreciate the sub, second, yes I would saw the Daytona would be fine for daily use. It seems overbuilt for the price point for sure.
@@GearsGadgets thanks for the fast reply man, I’ve seen some people say they drop fast when trying to lower a car slowly, but they are on sale so I will pick one up this week. Thanks again
Hey how's it holding up 3 years later?
Iam looking to buy a Daytona what’s the current status of it ?
is this good for vans need one just in case we have to do a emergency pot stop gana be going to las vegas and it’s better to have ready
Probably too big and heavy for an emergency jack. I'd stick to a trolley jack.
I just got the green one its an major upgrade do to the fact that i was useing the sissor jack that came with my 2003 honda crv but i got the long reach.
haha yeah it is a major upgrade to a scissor jack but in all reality, its an upgrade to even some of the higher dollar floor jacks out there in my opinion
I just bought the 3 ton low profile green one from Harbor Freight. Just unboxed it and about to use it.
How is yours holding up? Pros?...Cons?
It still works perfect, no cons to think of aside from weight which I really dont care too much on a floor jack.
I’m leaning towards either the HF 3-ton Low-Pro Super Duty Daytona (103.84 lb., $210), aluminum Arcan ALJ3T (56lbs, ~$250 Amazon), or Al/Steel hybrid Arcan 3 Ton HJ3000 (58lbs, $120 Costco). Would love lighter weight, but a little concerned with last two because max lift is ~18” versus just over 23” in Super Duty Daytona. SDD also has 4.9⭐️ with 861 reviews! 🤩
I don’t think you could go wrong either way.
I love my long reach daytona!
I just bought it and still in box I’m excited can wait to use it
I totally agree on snap on tool prices
I got one for $20 brand new in box unopened, works awesome
Fell off a truck? Lol. That’s an awesome deal.
I just bought it for $119. How do you like it after a year?
I’ve only had it for 6 months but I love it. Amazing value for a quality jack.
About to drop a fuel tank and I might as well buy one of these. I already have an old heavy duty jack that I got passed down to me, but it doesn't hurt to have a second jack.
The Daytona is a really solid floor jack. I would recommend it for sure.
still cheaper than taking it to a mechanic.
That bike is a beauty
How's it holding up?
How's it holding it up?? Curious since I'm looking into buying my first jack
Had one for a year and still love it
holding up awesome. no issues
It’s been a year, what are your thoughts? Do you still love it, and would you buy the extended warranty for say $20-$30 for 1 to 2 years?
It has been incredibly solid. I love this jack as much as one can love a jack.
just got one. It’s not working out of the box. suggestions?
Return it?
Just bought one today, how is it holding up? I even got the same color lol
Just bought mine last week for ~$139. With HFT, if what you want isn't on sale and you don't need it right then, wait a few weeks and chances are it will be on sale. I had purchased the jack stands a couple weeks before because they were on sale, but when I went to get the jack, the stands were on sale again for $5 less than I paid. The manager rang them back up and refunded me the $10, can't complain about that. I've been buying tools there since they opened locally, only thing I've ever had issues with are their 12v air compressors, went through 3 before I gave up on them. Keep your expectations reasonable, and as long as you're not making your living with them, HF tools should last pretty much your lifetime.
That particular Daytona Jack is $139 regular price...it's the heavy duty model. The super duty is the more expensive one. I have the Pittsburgh 3 ton. Very similar in specifications. Both r great jacks....my son has the Orange Daytona like urs...open box..$75.
HF's 25% or 20% coupons wouldn't work on any of their jacks...but the guy behind me in line had a flyer with a sale price of $79 for the Pittsburgh 3 ton that I wanted. BTW...they had already pulled the Pittsburgh 3 ton jacks off the shelf so I had to ask if they had one in the back...and luckily they did.
Long story short...when I purchased my Pittsburgh 3 ton there were 1083 almost 5 star ratings.
Where else r u going to get a great Jack for that price!
Enjoyed ur video...thanks.
Thanks I appreciate it. I think it is the best jack on the market AND one of the cheapest.
Why get the low profile if you is working on a tall truck?
Versatility to work on things other than my truck and/or if I end up with a car at some point that is lower I don’t have to own two separate jacks.
I believe the Daytona's instructions state to bleed the system first. I did not see you bleed the trapped air.
I just bought the same one you have. 👍
Nice 👍
I picked up the 3 ton Blue one yesterday.
Good buy!!!
Hows the Daytona hack holding up. I'm getting a 3 ton low profile
Still holding strong. Its a really solid jack.
Is the jack still good after 3+ plus years?
Still going strong
how’s the Jack holding up ? Thanks for the review too 👍🏽
Got one of these today, the left front wheel won't spin, and it doesn't even jack up. Looks like im going back to harbor freight tomorrow...
Just bought the same one
It is an awesome jack.
I just picked one up
Good score.
I have red pittsburgh 3 ton low profile and a Torin Big Red 3 ton jack. Happy with both of them but the Pittsburgh is better in my opinion.
They've gone way up in price. I just bought one in the really nice red color today. Regular price was $289 or $239 for members, which I am. Still a great value, IMO.
Great jack. 👍
Got mine 3 days Go for 179
got mine for 149.99, last week
@@sadoveryou lucky dogg
They have a couple different grades of the 3 ton Jacks. The one he's looking at is cheaper and shorter. The more expensive one is very different.
I just got mine for 189 , products go up n down like a roller coaster😂
Hahahaha me and my buddy just did the same .we had 2 Pittsburgh one in the shopping cart.till we started comparing hahah..I got the the green .he got the black
lol Its funny how long you can go back and forth on something like this.
@@GearsGadgets Yes that happended to me also ended up landing on the 3ton long reach low pro daytona with coupon $169. VERY HAPPY 😊
I just bought the 4 ton for 193 but found out the 3 ton is on sale rn for 89 think I’m gonna bring this one back and get one or 2 of the 3 tons
Yep took it back and saved 100 bucks😂 3 ton should be plenty for the f150
Oh great move, I think the 3 ton is WAY more than enough for most people. The 4 ton would be more for a really large HD truck. Good move, you won't regret it!! Thanks for watching, I appreciate you checking in and then coming back to update me!!
Gears & Gadgets thanks man! Have a good one
When I was young I used to use the cheapest lightest jack and get under my vehicles. I was very stupid. Don't ever do that. If working on your vehicle use floor jacks locking and a couple jacks. Always use a back up. No matter what the quality. Alot of people have got hurt really bad using any Jacks.
If you look at the part numbers for all the HF jacks they all use the SAME common hydraulic parts, the frames are different but the hydraulic pump, cyl, seals are the same
Is that a good thing or bad thing?
I got the same one and picked up a girlfriend with it. She fell in love with its' flashy color.
Probably picking one up on black Friday sale this year. I see you got their jackstands.... you still alive?
Did you get one? Also, I bought better jack stands.
Hello friend great video!! Hows the jack holding up?
It is holding up awesome.. I love it
Just picked up my new Daytona price dropped for parking lot sale to 140 bucks
I am infact watching this 2 years later, how’s the jack?
Still holding up great
How is it holding up?
awesome
Add a real steel zerk fitting - the first day I used this, the zerk broke I got a 90° for 60¢ @ Ace
oh I didn’t have that issue but will certainly look at it
I couldn't find the bolt for the handle
Interesting. Must have been missed in the packaging. Take er back!!
@@GearsGadgets lol nah I'm not waiting in line just to annoy a retail worker about one bolt. I went to orileys and now I've got 3 spares. Love this jack btw no more wood blocks for height. Jack's up my ford ranger and lowered ek hatch higher than my jack stands even go
Nice review, my 50 year old 1.5 ton needed to be replaced. Got a $20 coupon (92482272) good thru march 2020 and a $10 coupon off $100 or more order(50284097)...Got to use them both since I added a second item...so $109. Oh and its Green to match my 72" US General 2 which somewhat matched my JD Backhoe.
Thats an awesome deal!!
My Jack was 143.00 out the doors they dint have a coupon and I had to get black
Thats still not bad, its worth it at $143.
@@GearsGadgets I'm Gona return it the pump is squeeky and I want the orange LONG REACH VERSION IN YELLOW AND IM GONA GET THE CROSS BEAM AS WELL. LOL AND I ALSO STOOD IN THE ISLE BOUT AN HOUR TRYING TO DECIDE GREAT VID..
The snap on lawsuit was only for the super duty jack with the three year warranty not the other Daytonas that only come with a 90 day warranty. They are not the same.
Is the super duty that much better or something?
@@Username_647 snap on seems to think so
hope you returned those jack stands
TheOfficial323 they aren’t the recall ones. I just checked recently.
You can find some damn good tools at Harbor Freight depending upon what you are looking for
Yeah I am impressed. You just have to be educated on your purchases which holds true anywhere really.
How is the jack holding up?? 3 ton Daytona..
fantastic.
I was in that mofo back & forth on which color jack to get too 😄
lol isn’t it a painful decision?
Definitely not a 😼. Use those jack stands every time. I had a cheapo Chinese jack fail on me. Caster wheel came loose and the jack tipped over. Then my truck fell. Fortunately I was working on brakes so I was a bit off to the side and not under it.
Really annoyed. I want this jack so badly, but even the non-long reach one is $190 now. Dunno if I can pony up that kind of money for a car jack when my $50 has done everything I needed for the past 10 years until it started sinking a while ago.
