This is a very sturdy table which I have bought and assembled for my new office which I am setting up.
This is available in two sizes 120 cm x 60 cm and 140 cm x 80 cm. And table top is in white & beige and the legs are in white or anthracite colour. I chose white top with anthracite leg.
Dimension : 140 cm x 80 cm
Weight : 30 kgs approx
Max. load : 50 kgs
Material of table top - Particle board with plastic edging
Thickness of tabletop - 20 mm
Material of leg - Powder coated steel
This desk has been tested for office use and meets the requirements for safety, durability and stability set forth in the following standards: EN 527-2:2002, -3:2003 and ANSI/BIFMA x5.5-2008.

You are welcome. Most IKEA products assemblies are like that. They get tricky at places, but if you follow the instructions in the manual and do it patiently as you have said, the end result would be perfect.

hi what camera/lens are you using? and at what distance was it kept away from you while you were sitting in front of the table at the end of the video?
Hi Anubhav, I shoot my videos on Google Pixel phone. For the end part of the video you are referring to, the mobile was on a tripod at about 6.5 feet from me. I used 1.2x zoom on camera. Thanks.

Can this be used as a dining table if combined with chairs ?
Hi Akshat, it's a long time; how are you?
I don't find any reason why this shouldn't be used as a dining table, as it is very sturdy. There are two colours available. Moreover you get these table tops in the different sizes. You can choose the size you as per your requirement.

Anybody know how far the legs are inset from the left and right edges?
I want to buy trotten 140x80cm and cut it down to 120x80cm (removing 10cm each side)
Hi Birdi, sorry for the delayed reply. The legs are inset from the left and right edges by 10 cm. So if you cut the table top by 10 cm on either side, the table will become equal to the distance between the right and left legs(outer side). Hope this is clear.
But we get the table top in a size of 120 X 70 cm. May be you could use that without cutting. Thanks.

Which Ikea table is better to study - for putting laptop and books side by side? This or LAGKAPTEN Table with OLOV legs or Malm Desk?
Hi, both Trotten and Lagkapten are ideal as an office table. Both Lagkapten and Trotten are available in different dimensions, but they do not come with legs and drawers like Malm.
So according to me Malm will be the best suited as a study table, to place a laptop as well as books.
You can buy Alex drawer on one side and legs on the other side, which can be fitted under Lagkapten. You can check IKEA website for the various combinations.

hello bhuvana, now that its been a year for you using it, can you please provide your thoughts. I have seen it bends from center after 1 year of use.
Yes I have been using for a year now. I am very happy with it. It is strong and sturdy, looks very stylish. I am surprised that the table bends in the centre. There is no bend in my table as the leg frame runs across the centre of the table and this prevents it from sagging or bending. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the video and the detailed explanation. Can you please help me with a suggestion. So I am a bit confused between the Trotten and Lagkaptne/Alex tables. I like that Trotten more sturdy table when compared to Lagkaptne/Alex. But I need a drawer unit as well which is there in Lagkaptne/Alex.
Can you please recommend a drawer unit which would comfortably fit under the Trotten table.
Definitely trotten as a standalone table is stronger than Lagkapten. But when you fix Lagkapten drawer it definitely becomes stronger (by how much I cannot say, I have not used it that way). Although there are drawer and shelf arrangements for Trotten, I am not sure whether they suffice. I also think that Trotten add ons do not attach to the table and hence they remain separate.
You could think of MALM table. Or you could check the dimensions to find out whether Lagkapten or some sturdy drawer units are available to fit below the Trotten table. Thanks.

In my trotten table box, I did not get those side hooks for hanging stuff. Were those included in your box itself?
Hi Pratik, the hooks are not part of the tabletop but part of the underframe of the table.

So, how difficult was it to put those screws on at 8 minute mark? I lost my cool multiple times trying to do it just as you were. I see you cut the entire process of that out of the video so I probably have my answer. Hahaha, I was so mad trying to put those screws in.
Hi Jxpwn, Tightening those bolts were a bit cumbersome due to the limited space available, and it took some extra time but it was not difficult.
As it is most people don't watch the full video, if I had not cut out the portions showing tightening of the bolts, the video length would increase greatly and viewers will lose interest.
Hence I have to either cut out or speed up those parts.

Actually this bolt had a drop of paint. This is normal and is usually done to provide friction between the bolt and nut so that once tightened, the nut does not loosen and come off.
Generally most IKEA assembly procedures are simplistic and can be done by any layman without hassles. But if it is difficult, I would not hesitate to mention it or show it.

I cannot even fit the bolt through the nut provided. I have the desk size 140*80. How did you make it work?
I can get the bolt through maybe 80% or maybe 100% insde the nut if i force like a madlad but i cannot make it go through so the nut touch the surface of the desk as in the 8min mark
It looks too easy in the tuto I watched so I am wondering if the bolts provided are the correct size or proper.

@Big Moist, sorry for the delayed reply. I was a bit busy.
We felt Linnmon/Adil set up was very basic.
What we wanted was a sturdy table top which we found in Trotten. It is made of particle board and we also get it in various sizes.
This particular A shaped Trotten legs seemed perfect not only in looks but also the way it is designed, making it a strong support to the table. I'm sure you would have seen this in the video.
When we compared various table top and legs combinations in the IKEA store, we felt this was what we were looking for.
Btw, we even bought another desk - Lagkapten with Olov extendable legs. I have posted an assembly video of that too. Like Linnmon this too has paper filling like the other viewer has mentioned.

No, there is no such issue while using the table. The table is very sturdy and stands firmly when placed on a level floor.

Sorry I seemed to have missed your query. I think you can put plywood. But you will need to drill holes on the plywood to match the holes on the leg frame. Thanks.

@@BhuvanaAdi i did end up buying this specific table because of how well you shared the details on it. is the table surface strong enough and durable how has it aged so far for you ? can it hold a computer with at-least two screens.
Good decision. It is a great table. I have been using it for one year and there has been no problems.
It can hold two screens depending on the screen size and the table size.
This table holds upto a maximum of 50 kgs.
