- An absolutely classic, delicious cocktail that was invented by Henry C Ramos in New Orleans in 1888, the Ramos Gin Fizz is the perfect drink to celebrate Mardi Gras - or any time you're looking for something special. Simone's take on the 'New Orleans Fizz' is made with Bombay Sapphire gin and drinking it is what we imagine it feels like to sip a fluffy cloud! Don't be scared of the egg whites or the vigorous shaking involved in making this drink - it's something you have to taste at least once. Give it a go and let us know what you think! I made this at home based on this video. Delicious! One thing - shaking for ~3 minutes like Simone recommends absolutely works, and it's absolutely necessary. I tried shaking for less time because my arms got tired (despite being an avid weightlifter, it's hard work!), and the "meringue" didn't turn out right at all. The lesson: when the maestro tells you to keep shaking, KEEP SHAKING! Thanks Simone!

You don't need to dry shake, but if you do it with the strainer spiral, it will actually be faster

Out of curiosity, how would the taste of dinosaur egg affect the taste? just keeping my options open while making the drink, since the bartender himself states he would prefer using that.
+lecmg To emulate the taste you will need:
1) an ostrich egg;
2) a small live lizard;
3) a blender.
Make sure the lizard is not of a toxic or poisonous type, wash the lizard thoroughly, put it the blender. Crack the ostrich egg, add into the blender. Blend the ingredients. Filter the mixture trough a Cheesecloth to get rid of the small lizard particles. Voila - you've got a blended "dinosaurus egg".

actually your supposed to use an Old Tom Gin for this drink not a London dry gin.
