As a mexican, THANK YOU!!!! you missed a couple of things, like it must be made of Agave Azul in the region of Tequila, it should be drank at room temperature, not ice cold... We also drink on the side of tequila a kind of drinkable salsa called "sangrita" and some people lime juice as well. As a bonus, Tequila has a couple of brothers from other regions, styles and agaves, such as Mezcal and the less popular Sotol

I don't think it's wrong to drink tequila with a wedge of lemon (or I prefer lime) and salt as it's quite a fun and social way to have a shot of tequila when out with friends, but perhaps it should be reserved for lesser-quality tequilas. Sipping on tequila is fine if it's worth the taste I think. Out of curiosity, how come you don't add the grenadine last so it filters down into the drink?

Try original version of, from Biltmore Arizona created late 1930's 1 1/4 oz. Premium tequila, 3/4 oz. Creme de Cassis, Fresh Lime, Soda Water Fill glass with cracked ice. Add Tequila, Crème de Cassis and a squeeze of lime. Fill with soda. Garnish with 3 fresh lime wheels.So fresh :D
Can you show us some drinks that use Reposado and Anejo Tequila? Got them at home and don't know what do to with them, I only know recipes with Blanco Tequila. Thank you!

Then add the other things as you go along, e.g. buy that weird liqueur when you know how to make a cocktail for it! I personally would recommend a white rum as the first rum in your cabinet because it tends to be more versatile, but nothing is stopping you from using a dark rum or a spiced rum if you prefer them!
