I’d honestly say nishinoya was more important than anybody. The whole corny “can’t lose if the ball doesn’t hit the ground” is super true, but much more so is consistency to be able to attack at all.
@@pohorex6834yeah. That's great for Noya. But for Daichi, it's his ability to keep his team together. And keep them in line if he senses any disunity. Not to mention how scared the others get when he just glares at them.
Finally someone talks about Daichi. I feel like every match, someone mentions how Karasuno's defense would be filled with so many holes if it weren't for Daichi, and he's still underrated by everyone. Give my king some love
Daichis role is really exemplified during the johzenji match when their retired 3rd year in the flashback said "if you want to play, first you need to build a playground". Daichis ultra consistency allows karasuno to fire on all cylinders
I really liked how they placed Johzenji's banner behind him on that scene, Daichi calmly reassuring the team while "Simplicity and Fortitude"waves behind him is so fitting.
my favorite scene from Daichi comes from their match with Johzenji. the whole team is chaotic but when they see how Karasuno is the same with a more solid defense with Daichi and how that leads to success they learn from it and envy the team for having such a solid foundation.

On a base level they're very similar, they're both captains with teammates who far outshine them, and they mostly have the role of grounding the team and providing support. However, despite Daichi's teammates being much stronger than he is, he still wants to go on par with them, he will push himself even at the cost of leaving an open spot in the team's defense, he will not remain passive and he will fight with his team, contrary to Kita who never takes the initiative to score. It just adds one more layer to such a beautiful character, he's so criminally underrated
Daichi embodies this saying about "planting a tree to shade future generations (sic)." Often it refers to nation building or in a family setting, one's duty as an adult to foster what you've been given or made and to pass it on knowing that you'll likely not see the fruit or shade that that tree you planted produces. He certainly wants Karasuno to go all the way, but if it doesn't then he has the humility of knowing he's done everything in his power to get the team on that right path. Asahi and Suga are also aware to not "end" their work too soon, they can deal with exams and the team, especially with the work ethic they've put in during high school, this will be just an added measure for them.

There isn't enough Daichi appreciation in the anime OR in the fandom. He not only created the perfectly fired-up environment to foster the talents they got, AND built himself into the most reliable defensive player and captain Karasuno could have hoped for in their wildest dreams, AND got them a manager that helped with researching and creating strategies against the other teams, but ALSO (if you look closely in the dialogue) he's the one that got Takeda on board, which was the perfect match for the team. Immediately knew this video would be about Daichi, AS IT SHOULD! Ppl look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them Daichi is one of, if not my favorite, character. He’s not flashy and doesn’t get a lot of hype or laughs, but I’ll always love a mature, consistent, supportive character who puts in the work and handles pressure with a level head because he prioritizes his goals above the easy choice, and Daichi is the epitome of that. As a person, he’ll always be the character I admire and credit the most for being the foundation of the team. When faced with hopelessness and give nothing to work with, Daichi takes action, he inspires, and puts in the work- mad respect to him, and to you for highlighting that fact❤️
Daichi became the leader he wanted when he was a first year, and he created the atmosphere of the volleyball club he wanted when he was a first year too.
As I recall, in the dub, Daichi is referred to as the backbone of Karasuno. In the Wakutani match Daichi is injured and Ennoshita steps up as back-up captain. That's the arc that highlights Daichi's solidness as a player and leader, and how much it hurts Karasuno until Ennoshita gets past his hang ups.
I love captains with the ideology that Daichi has, that's why I love Oikawa and Kita as well. "If a chance ever comes be prepared and don't let it slip away", "the day will probably never come if you don't think it will", "You do it right and you do it everyday, that's the hard part" these are the foundations for their beliefs, and while all 3 captains have very different personalities, they all share that same idea that consistency and mentality matter.
"Chance favors the prepared mind." When this was shown in the anime, I cried with the 3rd years' flashback. Daichi, together with Suga and Azumane, really endured those years they were being looked down by others. However, they did not give up and look what the results of that is - the nationals. Daichi, as captain, is really one of the foundations of the team. Even Johzenji's Terushima that Daichi is the one that was really amazing in Karasuno team. You will always be missed, Captain Daichi. rip 🙏

Would love to hear your takes on 3-gatsu no lion, A Place Further Than The Universe, Insomniacs After School if you've seen any of those. Thanks for the awesome content.
It's funny that the episode meant to highlight Daichi's importance to the team is where he was removed from the episode lol. RIP Daichi my definitive Haikyuu love.
We watch and admire the beautiful monuments of moments that each of the player in the team builds but in admiring them. We forget to notice the amazing and beautiful foundation that is Daichi
Daichi really embodies the words of his senpai, the one who was captain when he was a 1st year: “Opportunities present themselves to those who have prepared.” He worked so hard at volleyball all of high school for seemingly nothing, preparing for something nobody else thought would ever come. His upperclassmen didn’t have faith in getting into nationals, but Daichi’s preparation for the past 2/3 years were vital in getting to nationals with his team in his 3rd year. No matter how good Kageyama was or any of the new 1st years, the foundation Daichi laid through sheer hard work and practice, with his strong defense skills and leadership skills that he built up over that time, Karasuno would never have made it to nationals. They made it because he had prepared, and it wasn’t in vain because once the opportunity came in the form of an all new Karasuno team filled with reliable 2nd and 3rd years and talented 1st years each with their own stories and character growth, he and the other 3rd years were prepared for it under Daichi’s leadership. He really is Karasuno’s foundation
This video is amazing and made my day. He's my favorite character. Without Daichi the entire story would be very different in my opinion. The foundation he began building as a first year and everything he's done to support the team during the series. There are so many things that go unnoticed because they are subtle and natural. One of my favorite things that no one talks about his is handling of Tanaka during the 3v3 match in season 1. Tanaka attempted to interrupt both Tsuki and Suga because he disagreed with what they were saying but Daichi stopped him with a simple call of his name and shake of his head because he knew those moments of communication were important and they were indeed pivotal to the team. Kageyama got to tell his story of what happened in high school and his teammates gained some insight and understanding to him. Suga was able to advise Kageyama in a way that lead to him setting the super quick to Hinata. There are so many little things that Daichi does that have such a greater impact and I'm glad someone is finally pointing it out.
At the end of the day, captain is the core of a team. If you have multiple talented players in your team but no one can handle them, it will be a disaster. A leader is the most trusted person in a team.
He tended the soil of Karasuno for years into fertile land for his kouhais to bloom. While I love Ukai and Takeda leading them, but when things got tough, it was Daichi that was the true leader. He is the foundation, the mental pillar of Karasuno.
The man who secretly rebuilt Karasuno might be Daichi, but the man who rebuilt the rebuilding of Karasuno is Lessons From Anime. He's truly changed the self improvement landscape thanks to his amazing, out of this world lessons from anime. He's a different breed, a man amongst men. He's the one to put Mans Wut on a leach and lead him wherever he wanted. He's the one who made Eli spend his whole life on his server. He's the honored one, the man who will change the world. Save the RUclips Society, Lessons From Anime!
Daichi is so cool, like fr. I do think he gets the credit for it in the anime, they even mention he is the base of karasuno.. If it wasnt for him, no one would be able to play well XD

Welp, guess I'll be rewatching Haikyuu over the weekend (again).
The Clutch King of Haikyu, Daichi Sawamura! In my opinion he is one of the most underrated players in the whole show.
RIP DAICHI! UR SACRIFICES WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR YEARS TO COME.
Him being a police officer in the post graduation scene is really align on who he his like Sugawara. ❤❤❤
Loved this video! Daichi is my favorite character
Daichi was always my favorite captain
MY KING IS MENTIONED
A true cornerstone
I’m glad u chose Daichi !
My favorite character
100% Karasuno would have NEVER done it, without Daichi
tell me why i just started bawling my eyes out bc wow…….. i love this guy………
Why do you have to make me cry the moment i wake up😭❤
Karasuno is the greatest volleyball team. They entered into nationals as a winners mindset.
"you never fail until you stop trying", Albert Einstein.
At the end of the day, captain is the core of a team. If you have multiple talented players in your team but no one can handle them, it will be a disaster. A leader is the most trusted person in a team.
Thanks man I really needed to hear that
Any time!
Daichi’s death was a really impactful scene
He tended the soil of Karasuno for years into fertile land for his kouhais to bloom. While I love Ukai and Takeda leading them, but when things got tough, it was Daichi that was the true leader. He is the foundation, the mental pillar of Karasuno.
Opportunity favors those who are prepared
The man who secretly rebuilt Karasuno might be Daichi, but the man who rebuilt the rebuilding of Karasuno is Lessons From Anime. Real
Thank you brother
Welcome
Daichi is so cool, like fr. I do think he gets the credit for it in the anime, they even mention he is the base of karasuno.. If it wasnt for him, no one would be able to play well XD
Fine, I'll watch Haikyuu! again
im not crying you are
Great video!
Thanks!
He might not be as good as Karasuno's Players....
BUT HE IS A DAMN GOOD CAPTAIN !!
1:04 his final game in middle school*😊
True haha
Imagine Daichi playing at the professional level
Daichi gives vibes of Haiji From Run with the wind anime
Great video
Thanks!
But then when Daichi is gone, they lose to Date tech on interhigh from what I remember. Shows how important Daichi is and Asahi
I mean they lose their moral support, the defensive core and their ace.
That’s a lot to lose
Why am I crying though 🥺
