    I've done several door jamb videos over the past and every single time people come out in swarms to tell me that my process is wrong or I'm scratching the paint. So that led me to develop a touchless method of cleaning door jambs but also in realizing that chemical and water force are the key instruments in deep cleaning door jambs effectively without scratching the paint. Can this method work with any APC and a standard hose? Possibly, if they are lightly soiled. But we as detailers often get neglected vehicles that the door jams haven't been touched in months or years so this is how I approach heavily soil door jambs and where it fits in in my process.
    superiorproducts.com/product/... (now called Dark Fury. Dilute it 4:1, 5:1 or even 10:1)
    For the pressure washer and sprayer nozzle that I use here is a video sharing my setup and links are in the video description for everything I have. • My New Pressure Washer...

    Sad that a person had to live in the car. 😥
    You made me remember 5 years ago I had a customer who wanted to stay and watch while I was detailing his Acura Acura TSX and was doing the door jambs with pressure washer, he jumped write up and started complaining and saying and asking if I was nuts. I had detailed his car 2 times before and had to calm him down and asked him, Everytime I have detailed your car, Have you ever seen it with a drop of water or moldy carpets or moldy upholstery? Don't worry because when you are doing a window purchase at a fast food while raining and you have to open the window to pay and get your meal, you'll have more water that the overspray your car will have now. Same thing happens when you have to get in your car with the umbrella and you put it inside still dripping water inside of your vehicle. Please, don't worry.🤦🏽‍♂️ Anyway, I will be doing the interior of your car and everything will be dried up.
    Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

    That's exactly what I do, people will always try and nit pick what you're doing. There's always someone who thinks they know it all. Don't worry what people say, you know you're doing great work, and it's been working for you.

    Excellent technique in dealing with door jams... I used to worry about water splashing in and would waste so much time spraying a cleaner and wiping with a microfiber... They would never come out as clean, especially in the crevices...another great video Chelsea..

    People have be complaining about how you do the door jams etc ??????.
    You did that so delicate. I have to use a 3 phase pressure washer on all the cars i do.
    3000psi 21ltr per min flow that i have you dont need cleaning products, Just blasts dirt and grime straight off

    When I brought my new '18 black Silverado, I used Eagle spray Nanowax on the door jams during the first wash. I reapply twice a year. I simply wipe down at every wash with a microfiber towel and a soft brush in the tight spaces then dry off. If you don't dry off you'll see that dust seems to outline the dried water spots. Makes for a nicely clean look when the doors are open. But I do this after washing the exterior as water gets into the door jams when rinsing the exterior.

    When I need to lower the pressure out of my electric pressure washer, I simply turn it off. The water pressure from the spigot going through the pressure washer and out the spray nozzle is just the right amount of flow then.

      Same technique or just wipe with waterless wash and microfiber. Just be prepared to get a little wet and pay attention to your angles to minimize overspray or mess.

    Hi Chelsea! What would you recommend as an alternative for protecting door jambs? I don’t have the one you mentioned in the video but I do have Formula 4 Spray Wax & Meguiars Supreme Shine.

    • @attention2detailswchelsea
      @attention2detailswchelsea  8 месяцев назад

      Any wax or sealant or drying aid would be sufficient. I wipe mine down every detail so a quick detailer or spray sealant would be more than enough each time you wash and dry your car imo

    Can you do a test on Dark Fury and if it strips ceramic. I called them told them had dealer installed cermic/nano polymer and they said it safe on that just dont leave past 30 to 40 seconds.

      This one was over $450+ due to the interior state and polishing work necessary. Two day job.
