I've done several door jamb videos over the past and every single time people come out in swarms to tell me that my process is wrong or I'm scratching the paint. So that led me to develop a touchless method of cleaning door jambs but also in realizing that chemical and water force are the key instruments in deep cleaning door jambs effectively without scratching the paint. Can this method work with any APC and a standard hose? Possibly, if they are lightly soiled. But we as detailers often get neglected vehicles that the door jams haven't been touched in months or years so this is how I approach heavily soil door jambs and where it fits in in my process.

For the pressure washer and sprayer nozzle that I use here is a video sharing my setup and links are in the video description for everything I have. • My New Pressure Washer... Авто/Мото
Sad that a person had to live in the car. 😥
You made me remember 5 years ago I had a customer who wanted to stay and watch while I was detailing his Acura Acura TSX and was doing the door jambs with pressure washer, he jumped write up and started complaining and saying and asking if I was nuts. I had detailed his car 2 times before and had to calm him down and asked him, Everytime I have detailed your car, Have you ever seen it with a drop of water or moldy carpets or moldy upholstery? Don't worry because when you are doing a window purchase at a fast food while raining and you have to open the window to pay and get your meal, you'll have more water that the overspray your car will have now. Same thing happens when you have to get in your car with the umbrella and you put it inside still dripping water inside of your vehicle. Please, don't worry.🤦🏽♂️ Anyway, I will be doing the interior of your car and everything will be dried up.
Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
I literally changed how i do door jambs because of you. Thank you.
That's exactly what I do, people will always try and nit pick what you're doing. There's always someone who thinks they know it all. Don't worry what people say, you know you're doing great work, and it's been working for you.
Excellent video and explanation. Not sure how folks can attack or downplay this. Its one of the easiest common sense methods. Keep up the great work
There isn't an easier, faster, better way than this method!
Happy birthday madame Chelsea 👏👏🎂🎂🥳🥳👏👏👍🇵🇷
The back hatch on a minivan 😵💫 especially after going on gravel roads. I can't leave it. I know it's gathered on the rubber stoppers. Your tips are excellent! Thank you!!!
I do door jambs, hood jambs, trunk jambs and gas door jambs when I do a full detail. Sometimes I put myself in the customers view
Another awesome video of detailing well explained and well videotaped
You re awesome for sharing this terrific method with us! Thanks so much!!!
Great video, highlighting products and technique.
Chelsea your technique makes this so easy and fast ..... really learn a lot from your videos, keep up the good work
That is so fast. I do appreciate you sharing this knowledge
Do them first as well!
It’s def worth it
Great video Chelsea, thanks for the link in my FB post. Excellent control of your pressure washer gun
Another great video!!
Great job Chelsea
Excellent technique in dealing with door jams... I used to worry about water splashing in and would waste so much time spraying a cleaner and wiping with a microfiber... They would never come out as clean, especially in the crevices...another great video Chelsea..
People have be complaining about how you do the door jams etc ??????.
You did that so delicate. I have to use a 3 phase pressure washer on all the cars i do.
3000psi 21ltr per min flow that i have you dont need cleaning products, Just blasts dirt and grime straight off
Iam a new subscriber thx for your videos much help for me ty !
There is a whole video series on this car to be made. That car looks like a nasty mess. Great video as always and thank you for sharing your expertise.
You are correct and unfortunately due to time limitations I wasn't able to make as many videos as I would like on this but I do have one or two in store. 😉
When I brought my new '18 black Silverado, I used Eagle spray Nanowax on the door jams during the first wash. I reapply twice a year. I simply wipe down at every wash with a microfiber towel and a soft brush in the tight spaces then dry off. If you don't dry off you'll see that dust seems to outline the dried water spots. Makes for a nicely clean look when the doors are open. But I do this after washing the exterior as water gets into the door jams when rinsing the exterior.
Nice vid
I need to get myself a short presure gun like that💪.
Efficient and effective 🥂
When I need to lower the pressure out of my electric pressure washer, I simply turn it off. The water pressure from the spigot going through the pressure washer and out the spray nozzle is just the right amount of flow then.
Sweet
Great technique!! I loathe doing door jams so this is awesome!
Me too! Now I can quickly get them out of the way and save energy for the really important areas. 🤣
Attention 2 Details w/ Chelsea Now I just need to purchase your pressure washer setup and I’ll good to go!
Thats smart
Thank god something easier. I go around with a damn detail brush after applying apc. Not anymore!
Great video! Where did you get your hose for your ridgid vac? I have the same vac but can’t seem to find that hose.
Awesome video with great information! What pressure washer gun are you using?
Mv925 from luxury microfiber
Awesome advice! How do you address the underside of the trunk lid?
Same technique or just wipe with waterless wash and microfiber. Just be prepared to get a little wet and pay attention to your angles to minimize overspray or mess.
Don't worry about the dumbasses attacking you on here, your smart and do a great job!
First comment.... good job 👍💪💯🔥
Hi Chelsea! What would you recommend as an alternative for protecting door jambs? I don’t have the one you mentioned in the video but I do have Formula 4 Spray Wax & Meguiars Supreme Shine.
Any wax or sealant or drying aid would be sufficient. I wipe mine down every detail so a quick detailer or spray sealant would be more than enough each time you wash and dry your car imo
@@attention2detailswchelsea thank you so much for the info!
What pressure washer is that and how do you like it? My greenworks finally crapped out now in the market for a good pressure washer. Electric especially.
Active VE52. I think they may be out of stock but when they're back in stock I definitely recommend them.
Can you do a test on Dark Fury and if it strips ceramic. I called them told them had dealer installed cermic/nano polymer and they said it safe on that just dont leave past 30 to 40 seconds.
I wouldnt recommend it. Ive had it strip weakened or old coatings
You shouldnt need something like that on a coated car imo
Was that the 25 degree tip on the pressure washer gun Chelesa ? Thanks I hope charged enough for that nasty car ?
Yes I think it rinses better and faster than the 40 degree tip. Just use common sense and keep a safe distance
Looking at the overall condition of that car ESPECIALLY that interior reminds me of the glamor of what we do...ooofff....《🥴》
How much does a job like this cost the customer ( ballpark ) if you don’t mind me asking.
This one was over $450+ due to the interior state and polishing work necessary. Two day job.
