Great video. Thanks! Maybe you could mention that some Surface Pros 4 have wifi and bluetooth antennas on the top plastic bracket on either side of the cameras. If you are not super careful you can shred them to bits. Your one doesn't seem to have them but my Pro does and I just tore one of them up ;P
Really cool video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd like to mention something completely off topic though. I noticed you have a thin coloured line on the fingernail of your left thumb. Not trying to boss you around or anything but I actually had the same thing happen to my inded finger and when I went to the hospital to get it checked they told me it could be an early sign of melanoma and I had my fingernail removed for that reason so I'd suggest you look into it if you haven't already. Sorry for prying (no pun intended) but it could potentially be a serious issue so I'd really suggest you get it checked if you haven't already.
If you don't have a couple of the metal shields that cover the ribbon flex cable ends, can you use Kapton tape? Also, when M'oft came out with the Win 8.1 Surface Tablet, it used a 5 pin (similar to Apple Magsafe) magnetic charger tip. Is there an adapter for the 8.1 5 pin to the newer Pro 4 type?
Hey i have a question Please anyone answer me 😞 I have a surface pro 4 with the glass cracked, the pc is funcional but aesthetically is horribly, but I love the colors of the pixelsense screen Ok my question is: The screens in eBay have the same colors than originals screens?
There are two different major model screens, one for early built surface pro 4 and one for late built surface pro 4. The late built one is compatible for late pro 4 and pro 5 and pro 6. All early model built surface pro 4 screens are interchangeable.
After some research I am not quite sure, when I buy they usually ask if it is the early or late version. I usually buy the early version as 90% of them are. Very few of the surface pro 4 had the newer model screen that was used in the pro 5 and 6. So to answer your question as best I can, yes I believe all early version pro 4 screens are interchangeable. If you have the old screen match the number as best as possible. Also you can check the manufacture date on your surface pro.
@@TheFixTech thanks man I had to fix my teachers surface pro 4 so i was going through it anyway thanks for the support you are the only person who responded to my comments thanks slot for that may god bless you
I bricked mine. It was working, but the screen was flickering so I figured something was loose. Opened up, redid it (never glued the screen back on) and I opened other compartments out of curiosity but didn’t touch anything else, sure enough when I turn in again it won’t even show the surface logo, and the keyboard lights up, on off on off and it makes a sound like it’s trying to do something. I accidentally stopped the fan with the ribbon cable the first time, maybe that broke and with out the fan it won’t boot? Any help?
Man, I'm trying right now to do the same on my surface pro 4, using a hair dryer, and it's impossible to pry it open. The only thing that I'm managing to do is bend slightly the frame around the screen at the top, but the pick doesn't want to go inside :/
😲Super glue (it says so right on the front of the bottle) for the new screen? Better be extra careful with that Surface, you don't want to have to get that screen off again!
Excellent guide - thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful video, thank you for sharing!
Excellent. Really helped. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
@@TheFixTech Does it resolves the screen flicker issue?

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!! Please ask any questions you may have regarding this repair. List of tools needed in the description.
During testing I have a dead spot both pen and touch along the top and right edge. Do you think this could be a cable/install issue or a defect?
If cables and cable board look good (not damaged from removal) then usually means defective part (replacement screen defective)

Great!! Now I'm ready to try this at home kids.
there is ltl123yl01-005,ltl123yl01-007 and similar model screens, are all of these models inter compatible with surface pro 4 model 1724?

by late built do you mean the lg screens?
Are all ltl based screens interchangeable?

These do have a common problem with screen flicker, chances are you just have a bad screen.
Great!!! Thank you
Great video 👍 but where can I source the replacement screen?
I will update with the link

Buy a hot air gun man. A hair dryer is not hot enough for that bad boy
Great video. But I heard some say never use glue.?
I use the e6000 b7000 liquid adhesive. It has very good bonding and removal properties. Do not use super glue. Or you can use a double sided tape.
When you mentioned "liquid glue", do you mean cyanoacrylate, as in Krazy Glue? Oh. OK. I now see your reference to "liquid b7000". Thank you.
How much new screen

It’s really more of a rubbery glue, it’s a special type of glue that will melt when heated. I really recommend it.
well, my screen has cracked...
