Can I replace my broken surface pro 3 display with a new surface pro 4 display since they both share the same dimensions?
pls pls emergency help ..my sp3 " 1631"lcd broken but still work without touch .. i want buy new screen from amazon but dont know what model i need to buy ..could u help to choose wright lcd screen pls .. waiting ur reply
which adhesive is required to attach the digitizer with LCD and how much
?
What version was the old digitised Nd what version is the new one?
Thanks for the video! I bought very cheaply a working assembly (lcd+digitizer) where the lcd is faulty (backlight bleed). However, my original lcd which is attached to my damaged digitizer does not have any faults.
Do you believe it makes sense to extract the good lcd from the damaged assembly and separate the working digitizer from the faulty lcd and then assemble them into one perfectly working set? Is that likely to succeed?
Will I have problems calibrating the digitizer? How should I glue the lcd to the digitizer? Do I need a transparent adhesive between them or can I just tape the lcd to the digitizer with a tape from the bottom?
Did you end up swapping for lcd's??? I have the same predicament but i have a surface pro 7..
BTW, sucks you did not get an answer. Dude ain't getting my sub. The very least he should do is acknowledge comments and if he is not comfortable answering he should say so. He for sure read your comment and chose not to acknowledge..
My touch screen is still working in places but screen is cracked.the windows square doesn't work what do you recommend I order to repair this purple monster.
Did you just say you were gonna scam your customer by charging for the LCD even if you didn't use it? Nicceeee...
ruclips.net/video/pfVpGmbUMTg/видео.html in the future he could charge less, if now he is succrsful
It’s a repair that many haven’t done before, and it is a difficult one. It’s unlikely to be successful, hence the premium. This is how all our businesses grow, by finding measures that keep the same or improve the quality of the repair while lowering our costs.
I do the same buy Touch not working. have u any idea
hola, soy de peru tengo una surface pro 3 y necesito cambiar la pnatalla porque esta rajado, en que parte de USA estan ubicados, cuanto costaria el servicio incluido la pantalla LCD para la surface pro 3

Is there a part 2 for this video. I can't find it here. Maybe I need glasses.
Hi, Thanks for such a nice video, good work..!
Where is the part 2 of this video..?
I mean, how are you going to stick digitizer to the LCD display ?
is it necessary to glue both digitizer frame glass and LCD display..?
Thanks once again,
:)
+Sai Praneeth I couldn't find it :(
hello sir,
today i just remove my screen OF MY SURFRACE PRO 3, and i bought a new screen from amazon, NOW MY BIG QUESTION: THERE IS A GOLDEN YELLOW ABOVE ANTENNA NEAR THE CAMERA; ARE NOSE NEEDED??, BECAUSE I ACCIDENTALLY TEAR ONE OF THEM ON THE LEFT WHILE REMOVING THE ADHESIVE AND I ALSO MADE A SMALL TEAR ON THE RIGHT ANTENNA TOO.
ARE THOSE GOLDEN YELLOW ANTENNA LABEL REALLY NECESSARY??
PLEASE HELP URGENT!
THANK YOU SIR
I just got off the phone with Microsoft support. They won't repair mine but will replace the entire device for $450. Sounds like a better deal than trying to replace the screen. The process looks really difficult even for the pros.
How should i glue the digitizer to the lcd?
OMG, what a torture to my eyes and heart when watch him tearing the screen apart. So KIDS be careful with your surface /tablets, or you have to do that.
Now I am glad I paid the extra MS complete, so I don't have to do that myself if mine get any problem
I left mine in the sun and it was hot and the screen popped right off...but one little section was like superglued down so the screen still cracked.
Did you ever finish this tutorial?
good job
I'm doing this same repair and I want to know what sort of adhesive you would use to reattach the digitzer to the lcd?
Loca glue surely?
fantastic
Hi there! I just got a new surface pro 4 and microsoft doesnt offer warranty support in my country. The bottom edge is lifting up about 2/3 of the edge starting from the center to the sides. Meaning the center part the gap is bigger and then it tapers to the sides. I was thinking about using heat gun to soften the adhesive and then put some weights over it. Do you think that would work? Also, how could I know the approximate temperature that would be enough to give the adhesive it's tackyness back but doesnt damage the screen or internal components?
Can I have remaining video for installation?
Doable for the surface book 2?
What is this majestic music? I must know at once!!
Ive found a cheap Surface pro 3 with a cracked screen. Was thinking about getting it and buying one of those sp3 screens from Hongkong for 200 gbp through ebay. Would that be possible?
+Bledoston I would not do it. Not worth it!
Hey, I'm looking to get a surface pro 3 and I found one that needs to be repaired on the cheap. The issue that is listed is that there is no video signal - lines or shadows, will not restore. Should I attempt to fix it or will it cost me a lot of money to do this?
+John Johnson Send it to Microsoft, best price available.
Hello I have a Surface Pro 3 256gb i5 for sale. Inbox if interested
Glad the surface pro 4 screen/glass is way easier to remove.
You also removed that lcd cable the wrong way, the plug was on the lcd behind the lid/cover thingy. So save your self some trouble next time.
Where that digitizer glasa will avalble
Got to be careful to remove glue and not break screen.....then continues to tap spugdger on screen to remove gunk 😂
I'm trying to find information about the difference between v1.0 v0.3 v0.5 etc. I see references to this all over the comments and in the video description. What is the difference between them?
Did you ever find a digitzer to fix this screen?
I found it but it just isn't worth it, too much work too much risk, it is only a 50 to 60 dollar price difference with a new screen, so i will go with a new screen with LCD attached.
Did part 2 ever happen? I'm really scared of doing this. I'm told that you can accidentally catch the wifi antenna or something @-@
and Part 2?
Put the surface on a microfibre cloth when working on it or a robber pad, I'd be so pissed as a customer if you put any scratches on the back..... You should of directed him to Microsoft, they would of gave him a new one for 300$, kinda a ripoff.
Plus you just voided his warranty, such bad advice, you really should of told him to go to Microsoft, you should do the research to help the customer out..... I'm getting the i7 surface pro 4 and be getting the 150$ 3 year warranty which covers drops 2 times and hardware failure many times....
How are you going to replace just the digitizer when you are destroying the screen? Makes no sense.
Could you possibly replace my digitizer on my surface pro 3? How can I contact you?
I just got off the phone with Microsoft support. They won't repair mine but will replace the entire device for $450. Sounds like a better deal than trying to replace the screen. The process looks really difficult even for the pros.
Question please: what part is the digitizer? what part is the "screen"?
When the glass breaks what do you need to replace? The digitizer?
+ytgoroyt Yes you need to replace the digitizer. Best to send it to Microsoft on this repair.
Hey man. Thanks very much for your reply and for your video clips. I like your style. Thumbs up!
ytgoroyt Thanks, I'll keep it up.
From what I've learned there are three parts. Glass which we see and touch, digitizer beneath that which controls the touch screen function, lcd is the part that controls the screen image.
Based on damage you'll know what to replace. Mine pro 2 has a Crack and the touch locks into one part of the screen but the picture is fine. So I have to replace the glass and digitizer but my lcd is still intact.
paid 600 for used surface pro 3 I dropped it broke then screen just ordered new screen for 300 dollars take about month to get here is will be doing this same repair but mine is all ready opened up by me so I got clean adhesive put new adhesive and new Screen. Just kneed heat gun witch I use grandma heat dryer for that.
You know they start at $799 new, right?
Yeah Not Worth it
I think Microsoft fixes then (or replaces them) for $300. i don't think that you can buy the digitizer only anywhere for this tablet.
background noise is too distracting :(
the glass is broken on my microsoft pro 3. What should I do?
wait for the asus transformer 3 pro
I just got off the phone with Microsoft support. They won't repair mine but will replace the entire device for $450. Sounds like a better deal than trying to replace the screen. The process looks really difficult even for the pros.
If you're to scared to try maybe only replace the entire LCD, that's quite a lot easier.
How i know what version of surface pro 3 i have?
+Jankovics Villatoro Read the cable. IT will say on the digitizer part. Not worth fixing btw.
+Tech MD RUclips I shattered my screen yesterday. Was thinking of fixing it but your saying its not worth fixing? How come, what is your advise?
Did you quote the customer for the digitizer only or full lcd assembly? If you quoted them for the full lcd assembly and are planning to "net" ,for digitizer only very shady my man
i would charge $500 for this job , customer has no business knowing what am i going to replace , this is a very painful job so it worth the full charge , also high chance lcd might break in the process , it is hit or miss
you def sliced through one of the cables at the bottom of the screen there is 3 you managed 2 cut the 3rd
I did research on digitizer not available for v1.1 models screen pro 3 had buy who lcd with digitizer foe 299 not bad half price they used to be.
Geez. Yeah 1.1 never made available unfortunately
+Tech MD RUclips yeah I hate that reason one just bought just cracked again full screen next to Microsoft logo from top to bottom so I contacting seller for new one mine broke next day received it.
Somebody has to make them?
+Andrew Johnson yeah dam Chinese factories making them.
maybe use your lg g4 with a micro sd card to record longer?
Nads M No I think my camera is over heating. Both s6 and g4 where shutting down today recording ipad air 2 repair
А клеел то чем стекло ???
Nice video, but as a computer repair shop owner / tech, no way in hell I'm doin that!
Did you just bang the customers tablet on the table twice to get some glass off???and you scratched it with the metal tool!!!!
microsoft do the whole job for 450. Imho is way better sending it to them, less risky and 100 % superior oem handle of all the other components and whole equipment.
u did a great job, but I love the peace of mind knowing that a co like Microsoft provides.
LMAO I can show U a quote Microsoft wanted over 700 still lmao........
+Daniel Southcott. Do u live in US ? because if u Do is stupid for them to try to charge that much. Calk them by phone, that's what I did, I may work better this time.
No sir aus
What a bodge job
Uhm... do these tablets glue the entire digitizer surface to the LCD screen? I found a damaged surface pro 3 in the trash, and thought I'd pull the SSD and toss the rest as its not really worth spending $100 for a new screen assembly. Upon dissassembly I believe the LCD is okay and likely the tablet is okay but I lack an adapter and battery is dead. I may charge battery with external charger if I decide to waste more time on it... They are MF's to take apart...
I pretty certain these tablets were designed with destructive screen assemblies whereby opening will require they be replaced. Shame on Microsoft, especially given their high cost. (Even Asus Transformers weren't that bad.).
So couple of things...
1-Surely you know holding the power button down for 10 seconds on every computer, laptop, phone, tablet, and game device will force a power off? (At least all of the dozens/100s I've encountered.)
2 - Why does your phone only record 30 minutes of video then stop? Apparently that happens to all camera devices not classified as a video camera. Its a wierd licensing legal thing.
wow. who pays 600 for a repair??
I mean no one else will fix these things will they? Cause if they will I haven't met them. can't find a digitizer for it sold anywhere on the fucking internet and the screen itself costs at least $100
Failure.
watching you mash that glass with a metal tool is just painful
Gary got no thanks or anything 😢
Hey, next time freeze the glass off. No heat! Just .use dry ice
Thank you so much for the advice!
Haven't found your "Part 2" video, so I don't know if you actually replaced just the digitizer. Anyway, you were going to and/or did charge the customer $400 for an assembly you weren't buying...but instead a $140 digitizer and $200 labor on top of that? You are either a bad business man who rips off his clients or a mad genius for convincing them to pay that much.
Once your customers find your RUclips channel and see that you charge for parts you don't actually use on the repair, you're going out of business.
first of all I don't even repair this device anymore, second the digitizer 1.1 was never available so I never could do it. that's why I never made the second video
Tech MD RUclips Regardless of the 2nd video not being made or you not doing these type of repairs anymore . . . Your intent in this video speaks volumes.
very interesting I haven't watch the video for over a year. what would be my intent I plan on taking care of my customers not sure if you think I have any evil intention or not LOL
*"I charged the customer $600 dollars because the part was $440 (entire assembly), but what I'm going to try to do is just replace the digitizer only. And if I can successfully do that then I can net probably around $500 on the repair."*
In other words you quoted the customer $600 because the assembly was $440, but hoped to repair the device without the $440 part and instead with the cheaper $140 digitizer so you could net a larger profit. That's not what I would call _taking care of your customers_. You were dishonest with the customer and charged or had the intent to charge more than what they really needed to pay to have the repair completed.
I never seen a repair shop that doesn't do that. That does glass repair for the first time. I ended up having to buy the screen for $440 and I figured that would be the case. Because I couldn't find the digitizer only. but if you can make extra money because you do extra work that is not dishonest that is business smart. now if you where to charge $600 and said you replace the whole thing every time and only did glass repair that would be dishonest but once again you don't have a clue what you're talking about because that is actually not dishonest. Let me give you an example. You charge $100 for an iPhone 6 repair and the part cost you 25 to $60 depending on what you buy. then you send it in to get refurbished which now the part doesn't cost you as much or you sell it which means in turn you acquire a larger profit when the customer originally thinks the part is very expensive that's why they come to you. I hope you understand more of a clear situation but it sounds like you're not a business technician quite yet but you'll get there and then you'll understand.
Seems like a waste of time and effort!
you have absolutely no ability to do that
Lol what a waste of time
What the hell are you doing???
Damn this guy won’t get any business
