Anyway, I decided to try to remove the old screen before buying a new one. That way if it went poorly I wouldn't have a new screen for a broken surface and secondly now I can see all the numbers on the back to make sure I buy the right one. Wish me luck on phase 2. Great video.
So I just finished removing my broken screen and here’s what I’d add. Try to drain the battery before starting if your worried about the heat. Use a heating pad along with the heat gun (I didn’t have to use the heat gun much because the heating pad keep the temp of my screen at 120 degrees). When you get to the last side (top), use a heat gun while prying the screen from the bottom. You can only pry it so much because the ribbon cables are still attached but it will definitely help loosen the adhesive. Then just use a flat plastic pick for the rest of the adhesive. You won’t damaged the antenna this way.
You missed to mentioned an important part. In the top side where the camera is, there are 2 wifi antennas you may cut if you are not careful. I did unfortunately and now I have to use an USB wifi adapter.....

you don't glue it on you use double sided adhesive like 3m brand the one that is made specifically for devices and you place the screen on and to be sure it'll stay you can heat it up for a bit with the heat gun let it cool down and then you're all good to go I don't know why this guy didn't add any more adhesive seems like he's a cheap repair guy that doesn't care about his customers and just wants to get everything done as quick as possible but new adhesive should always be added and you should try to remove the old one the best you can because it might cause little bumps underneath the digitizer if you don't

Tesla tape 61395 use along top and bottom and weaker tape on sides Tesla tape is what’s used to install the screen at factory its glue tape not just pure glue as that would run into the motherboard! Never use a liquid glue that’s v confusing I feel always use Tesla tape. It’s glue

Cause the pro has defective wifi and bluetooth, also I want to upgrade to a 256 GB SSD instead of the present 64 GB. Another question will an external monitor work even if the surface pro 3 screen conks out ??
One crucial point when working with electrical devices you need to disconnect the battery first, the battery was connected the entire time. That should be the first thing you should do, correct that issue and this will be a great video.

idk about rplacing the screen but know that if you download a panel calibration tool it would calibrate your screen and then it will work with toucth again
I just got off the phone with Microsoft support. They won't repair mine but will replace the entire device for $450. Sounds like a better deal than trying to replace the screen. The process looks really difficult even for the pros.
Yeah I don't think they replace screens. That's why they just give you a new one for $450. You should try it yourself they have screens for around $240 on eBay.

Could someone please help me? I let my Screen beeing replaced and now the touch Screen doesn't work anymore. When I go to device Manager it says that the Surface touch Controller Firmware could'nt be started, I have to restart the device. Then I restarted it and it still says the same... I've also tried to reset my Surface but then an error message appeared. (Surface 3)
