Lewis Hamilton is set to embark on a remarkable journey by joining Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season, marking one of the most significant driver transfers in the sport's history. Just last summer, Hamilton inked a fresh two-year deal with Mercedes, intending to compete through 2024 and 2025. Hence, his move to Ferrari catches many off guard, given the recent commitment to Mercedes.
However, it appears that Hamilton's new contract with Mercedes includes a provision allowing him to depart in 2025, a clause he has opted to activate even before completing the 2024 season with the team. The suddenness of this decision is evident from the impromptu meeting held at Brackley on Thursday, where team principal Toto Wolff couldn't be physically present and joined remotely.
While speculation about Hamilton's potential departure has surfaced sporadically, particularly in early 2023, his renewed contract with Mercedes and public affirmations about his loyalty to the team seemed to dispel such notions. Nonetheless, the confirmation of Hamilton's move to Ferrari for 2025 marks a seismic shift in the F1 landscape, prompting reflection on its magnitude.
This move rivals Hamilton's previous transfer from McLaren to Mercedes in 2013 and surpasses other notable shifts in recent F1 history, such as Fernando Alonso's unexpected return to McLaren and Sebastian Vettel's transition from Red Bull to Ferrari.
This reflects Hamilton's stature as the most accomplished driver in F1 history and underscores the robustness of the Hamilton-Mercedes partnership, which seemed poised to extend beyond F1 into a lifelong ambassadorial role. It's worth noting that Mercedes has been Hamilton's steadfast supporter since his days at McLaren, and Hamilton himself considers his affiliation with Mercedes dating back to his karting days, making this breakup monumental. However, the significance also lies in what lies ahead.

Let's compare Leclerc's career with Verstappen since their debut in Karting & 2017 in the big ring.....Leclerc is only short 3 F1 World Champion titles after all (soon 4)..!!!!!...I don't see where all the fuss is....yes..he's fast on one lap sometimes and has won a few races..but come on..!!!..soon it will be a decade he's running after winning just his home GP...!!!!............I don't see him World Champion anytime soon.....and with the arrival of Hamilton...forget it...!!

talking about Leclerc's prouesse by being the fastest on one lap is the total opposite of what a great F1 pilote should be as a all...taking pole on Saturday..but crumbling down on race day has been Leclerc's problem since his F& debut ...if Leclerc does not win his home GP this year..he's doomed..it will be the 8th season for him trying to win this race....almost a decade...!!!..and I'm quite sure Verstappen is not ready yet to give him that chance.....the arrival of Hamilton is not going to help him either because Hamilton is not the future of Formula 1 anymore nor the future of Ferrari..!!!...getting rid of Sainz was a big mistake...they had the perfect duo for Ferrari"s "resurrection'..with a good atmosphère between both pilots..Hamilton's arrival will bring chaos.....
