I think you meant to say level 20 is renamed "Boc: A Nuisance" for the dark side. Also, every time Jerec heals, the two giant statues move closer to the center. If you don't kill Jerec by continually allowing him to heal as the statues move closer eventually the level will end with Jerec's victory --- something about unlocking the full power of the Valley of the Jedi. Awesome series - really loved this and the Mysteries of the Sith playthroughs! :)
Thanks for showing the Dark Side Force Powers in this video. Force Throw was a pretty nice application of ingame physics for a game from the 1990s--furthermore, a Force Power like it wouldn't be in another Star Wars game for a long time (the expansion pack to this game, "Mysteries of the Sith" didn't have it). This game was one-of-a-kind. The Live-Action cutscenes (well-made with LucasFilm and ILM's help) helped to give it a Star-Wars-movie feel in a decade when no new Star Wars films were on the horizon. The use of Force Powers and the morality system was also pretty nice.
I played the Baron's Head level again on Steam and, with a lot of prodding and pushing managed to get Max into the Town Square Area. I then watched from the sidelines as Max proceeded to just murder everyone he came across: Grans, Tuskens, Civilians. I didnt even need to fire a shot, after a Minute or two, the Square was empty.
Fun fact: if you have enough sequencers and have enough force stars invested into Speed, you can cheeze the hell out of the Jerec fight. This is especially helpful for Dark-siders: run away from Jerec or hit him until he runs to regenerate. Key here is to make sure he's not going to follow you into where the core is. Place as many proximity-triggered sequencers as you can fit without boxing yourself in, jump out and depending on which of the two ways you got away from Jerec, either wait and watch the fireworks, or make the pansy run away. Then just hit the switches, sit back, and enjoy the show. This usually takes him out in one run, but occasionally I've had to go re-seed the core as he followed me before I was ready to get upstairs. Worst case it takes about 3 runs of this nonsense to blow Jerec sky-high.
I think there's also one more change when you go to the dark side, which is Kyle's costume changes to a black/grey outfit. Something you can't see here because of the mods. It's been a fantastic LP though, you went in to so much detail. I tried to get the game to run but couldn't on win7 + AMD graphics so I needed a good playthrough to watch!
Oh yeah! I know what you're talking about. That black suit is also reused by Kyle in Mysteries of the Sith as well. Either way, thank you very much. And more importantly, thanks for watching.
When you kill Weegee, Morgan will indeed say, "For you the choice is the dark side," and your place on the morality scale will probably slide all the way into the dark; however, it will not stay there permanently. It will still move around until the first mission on Ruusan, but it won't be cemented there as it does once Kyle finally chooses his path. As for the door to Max's house: It was originally intended for you to wait around for the woman to return, who then re-enters the house, and you are able to follow her in. I've found that your operating system makes a difference. When I used to play this game on Windows '98 back in the day, it would not over-perform, and the woman would always return, no problem. When I played it on XP, I'd find that she would not return because she would get stuck against one of the steps she has to climb in her journey. So on XP, you have to activate Force speed and enter the house quickly as she exits. I have no idea how it behaves on Vista, 7, or 8.
the big fishes in barons head and the lost planet of the jedi draped the shit out of me, at one point I could not advance through the game because in the lost planet of the jedi you must encounter those fishes, if not you can't advance
Ah, I remember a time when Dark Side endings were a thing. They allowed us to entertain our inner psychopaths. Killing Rosh in Jedi Academy and handing Kyle Katarn his ass on a plate, taking over the Sith Empire after killing Darth Malak in KOTOR, killing the Chancellor in the SWTOR bounty hunter storyline, they were just fun. Now, they're nonexistent, with new SW games like SW Battlefront 2 2017 EA and Jedi Fallen Order not even letting you join the Dark Side. The former game got you out of the Empire's side after a few missions, and the latter game doesn't even bother with a dark side experience.
@@HolyknightVader999 It isn't fun on a long term. Very often you go as far to loose yourself completely. Just makes me wonder what she's doing while she's out.
That bunny was really a truly Easter Egg, lol. About the Dark Side path, yeah, it's more tough to finish the game. On further games of Jedi Knight, the Dark Side powers are a little bit different of Dark Forces II (they're Grip, Lightning, Drain and Dark Rage), but the principle is the same: Light Side powers are for protection, while Dark Side powers are for destruction, so that fact makes the game harder to finish, because you can't use the Force to protect (both from physical and Force attacks) or heal yourself. It's just brute force (Dark vs Dark), lol. Anyway, I have to say... Emperor Kyle it's much more cooler, lol. Nice video man!
Ah, the Max-extra. I faintly remember that I had actually managed to lure him into the city once. He started firing on everything that moves, and I mean *everything*: Enemies, Civilians and myself. That was 15 years ago and I never managed that since. :\
You actually got him into the city area?! I've never been able to lure him past the bridge by the water. They say that he's supposed to help the player in that level, but I don't think it actually works.
***** Believe it or not, but I was playing that Level just now and finally managed what I didnt for 15 Years: Manage to get him into the City. Its not like you have to lure him, you actually have to push him until he gets past the bridge. Past that, its a strange mixture of him following the player and random wandering around. And he shoots all civilians he comes across! O_O
With level 15, you have, ah, 4 minutes to escape on Easy, I think? Or 3. And there are FOUR separate routes that can be taken, two of them reconverging early, and the rest all meet up near the Crow or the falling ship's ventral 'bridge'. Hitting switches on the bridge and in another control room will slow the descent of the ship via braking thrusters, buying more time. The other routes are via the holes in the airlock where you begin the level, and one goes around the ship's ventral 'fin'.
Something I recalled from a long time ago watching this video. On the falling ship level, if you look down when you're on the catwalk out to the crow, you can see AT-STs walking around at the bottom of the canyon.

Hey Lightning, what's new? Sorry for annoying you but I wonder if one time you plan to do a replay LP of Dark Forces 2 but with a full Dark Side ending, and yes yes I know you said in Level 1 "Kyle Katarn is a good fellow" but don't you want to replay Dark Forces 2 after all these years? Just curious about a Dark Forces 2 replay with full Dark Side ending.
You're not annoying me at all! And I've thought about doing that actually! I did explore the Dark Side path a little bit with this video, but I think it would be cool to see how the game plays out in full. I might do it in a live stream here soon. =)
One thing you missed in Level 15 is that you actually can find WeeGee in the level (this reflects the book, where Kyle does see him there). However, it's been so long since I played this I can't remember where exactly he is, I think he might be near the Crow.
Maxing out the powers definitely would have helped me demonstrate each ability better, but I did a lot of level skipping and jumping around for this video.

Hey #LightninBoltForever i have the steam version of the game on Windows 7 36bit and the Music, not the Sound is missing :( Do u have have any idea how can i fix that?
Faris Hedzic As far as I know, for some reason, the music is not included in the Steam version at all. There may be a patch for it floating around somewhere, but I'm not sure. I'm sorry. =(

I search the internet then for a patch because you can´t play JK without the fascinating Music of the fascinating Franchise :D PS: Can u upload a Tutorial how can i install the enhanced graphics for theGame? Wish they made some cutscenes for the dark side version of this as well as maybe some quests where you can decide if you are dark or light. I mean it is really good considering when this was made and they kind of added 2 cutscenes for dark but it kind of feels like infamous second son without the choices. Kill civilians and critically kill enemies to become dark.
I just played the original game today, im tryin to see the light ending, the way you get the dark path is by choosing more dark than light force powers, once you pick them its done... hell yeah dark jedi power
I just played through the dark path again and Jerec was a royal pain in the ass!!! I managed to get his health down to where he tried to regenerate, but I blocked the door way and just kept hacking at him. If he had fought back, I would have been dead. I have to say that I'm pretty underwhelmed by the dark side powers. Force Throw has pretty long range, but there are a lot of areas with nothing to throw. Plus, even if there are canisters in the room, they don't move if the enemy is too far away from them. Force Grip won't even kill a Stormtrooper in one shot and he can still shoot at you while he's being choked, plus the range sucks. Force Lightning is too random and usually doesn't hit the enemy, plus it drains your Force level too quickly. Force Destruction also drains your Force Level and won't even kill a Stormtrooper in one hit. Force Deadly Sight Doesn't last long enough. It will kill all the enemies in a room (after they've gotten off a half-dozen shots at you), but it doesn't last long enough to do much more than that and it drains your Force. Grip and Deadly Sight don't seem to work again the Dark Jedi. Lightning and Destruction seem to hurt them, but they take far less damage from them than you do. Throw actually works great against against Yun and Boc. I preferred Pull for disarming normal enemies, Persuasion for sneaking up on enemies and Protection for fighting the dark Jedi. Had two weird glitches too. In the first fight with Yun, there was a security droid motionless in the level and the game crashed every time I beat Yun. I had to replay the previous level (I used cheats as I didn't want to go through the whole thing again) and it worked fine. Then in The Valley of the Jedi, the elevator in the big box, wouldn't activate. I used the fly cheat to get to the bottom and the elevator down into the caves didn't work either. I had to go through the previous level again to make it work. Weird.
For this LP, I used a recorder called Action to record this game. It allows for desktop recording, so when the game displayed cutscenes in a window, I was able to just record that particular window. =)
Never mind I have fixed it I just got beta 5 of the gsx and the yellow lightsaber works but thx very much for all of your help and keep up the good work
If you follow the Dark Side Quest, Kyle will never duel Sariss. It's never explained how she survives, but she ends up as Kyle's aid at the end of the game.
you could run a virtual machine // Wine. it might actually work better that way. this game is so old it has trouble running on newer hardware and Operating systems.
if you buy it off steam, realize its just the old 1.01 version, which noone used for mod or support. IMO, you are better off buying it from GOG. i finally managed to get JK working with mods. the main problem is this game was using software rendering vs hardware like we do now. I actually had to remove my drivers and run it WITHOUT them installed, plus run through a bunch of dll files to find out which one would work. i'm running windows 8.1, i5 4690k, and an ATI R9-280.
A drawing, huh? Hmm, I'm not sure how. I guess maybe you could take a picture of it, put it on your computer, and send it to me via email. That's the easiest way I know. =)
I remember buying this game. I don't remember it much of the game and I know I never completed it. Mainly cause I was a bit turned off from it. Which is unfortunate. This probably is due to how this game takes liberties concerning how Jedi Knights feel about using blasters and other weapons other then the lightsaber and their abilities to manipulate the Force. I am glad I found this walkthrough. After all these years, I learned that I may have misjudged this game. I still wish I had the CD for it.
Danuta is the planet where the opening level of the original Dark Forces game takes place.
And where Kyle stole a part of the Death Star plans initially...
I think you meant to say level 20 is renamed "Boc: A Nuisance" for the dark side.

Weird.
I only played the demo of this great game
Damn it
😭😭😭
Planning on picking it up?
No Jerec! 26:12
Hey. I forgot to ask. How do you record cutscenes and do you use Fraps? If I'm right, Fraps doesn't do cutscenes.
For this LP, I used a recorder called Action to record this game. It allows for desktop recording, so when the game displayed cutscenes in a window, I was able to just record that particular window. =)
What mods are you using, games looks so much better
I believe he calls them all out in the first level
ok, don't mean to sound like i'm nagging, but its been a bit and i'd love to hear the commentary on jedi outcast. any eta for an outcast vid?
I know it's been a little while. I still have to get myself familiar with Outcast again since I haven't played it much recently.
you didn't show off force lightning and deadly sight...
Also, you become a PRIMARK before Dark Lord?
Your game looks different than mine. Is this a console version? I have it on PC.
Mods from JK hub
so... are you going to do mystery of the sith?
...When I can get it working, yes.
***** I know the feeling.
What beta version of the glowsaber x are you using i am wondering because I might be using the wrong one
I'm using the one that just says GSX on the JKHub website, not GSX-Basic.
Never mind I have fixed it I just got beta 5 of the gsx and the yellow lightsaber works but thx very much for all of your help and keep up the good work
Cool! I'm glad you got everything straightened out. And thank you, as well.
no problem you are doing a great job so thx again
Max starts shooting you and will remain hostile if you hurt him once (which you did because you pulled out your gun and shot him)
So if u dont duel Sarris, when do you meet her?
Or does the game just skip that as Dark Side?
If you follow the Dark Side Quest, Kyle will never duel Sariss. It's never explained how she survives, but she ends up as Kyle's aid at the end of the game.
Is this available for Imac anywhere anyone?
Not that I know of... I believe it's PC only. Sorry. :/
Thanks, I want to play the original Thief games too so I think Santa is bringing me an old school XP PC this year ; ) Dark Forces was brilliant!
you could run a virtual machine // Wine. it might actually work better that way. this game is so old it has trouble running on newer hardware and Operating systems.
The Rebel Alliance evolves into The New Republic btw. Well for the EU anyhow. Lol
Where can I find the download link? .. Thanks
This game isn't free. You'll have to buy it off of Amazon or Steam. If it's mods you're looking for, they can all be found here: jkhub.net/
if you buy it off steam, realize its just the old 1.01 version, which noone used for mod or support.
“Who’s standing in his way?”
You mean like Luke Skywalker?
When you verse jeric the force boon is above the opening where jeric runs to rejuvenate ☺️
Será que no final sombrio, Kyle matou Luke Skywalker??
Good game 😎👍
Hello! I drew something for you. How should I give it to you?
A drawing, huh? Hmm, I'm not sure how. I guess maybe you could take a picture of it, put it on your computer, and send it to me via email. That's the easiest way I know. =)
***** Well, seeing as how I drew it on the computer. I don't think it's necessary to take a picture of it... :P But I don't know your E-mail address.
Oh! I thought you meant you drew it on paper. =P Hang on, lemme send ya a message.
Stannis Baratheon I am planning on doing Mysteries of the Sith as soon as I can get it working.
Stannis Baratheon
Don't you have the iron throne to claim?
Emperor Katarn? I don't really like such an idea. The Galaxy belongs not to one person...
It belongs to everyone. The Light Side ending is a good one!
4.29. Cause you went against him
Well im sure luke should destroy emperor katarn in this timeline unless sidious comes to guide katarn in his clone body from Darth Empire
the resistance bro 29:20
2.33 a white rabbit .

Man. I'd love a remake of this series with better graphics and controls and stuff. Plus a few tweaks to the honestly terrible narrative.
Yup just dack vador
I remember buying this game. I don't remember it much of the game and I know I never completed it. Mainly cause I was a bit turned off from it. Which is unfortunate. This probably is due to how this game takes liberties concerning how Jedi Knights feel about using blasters and other weapons other then the lightsaber and their abilities to manipulate the Force. I am glad I found this walkthrough. After all these years, I learned that I may have misjudged this game. I still wish I had the CD for it.
plis send me the game
