My brother and I didn't play Dark Forces II until after we got a tin boxed edition of Jedi Outcast, which also included a copy of Dark Forces I and II. I was young enough at the time that this chapter's cutscene made Jerec genuinely terrifying!
Love all the verticality and wind currents and switches and moving platforms and stuff in this level. This game did such a good job of making stuff feel dynamic.
I'm using the "Jedi Knight Enhanced" and "Retextured" mods. There's actually a pretty drawn out process on how to install them. There is a tutorial by GibbaGobba that you can watch here: /watch?v=OcpICJI40iQ But I think I might make one myself since I've gotten quite a few questions about modding. Also, glad you like the new remix! This'll be the last one for the LP. It has a nice serene kind of feeling. Thanks, too!
The Rail Gun and Concussion Rifle in this game are like the BL-10 Trollcannon in World Of Tanks. Not always the most practical, but to much fun not to use.
You don't need to use so many power cells if you are worried about how quick they go! Whenever you blast a turret, when it starts spinning and shooting randomly, that means it is about to blow up on it's own. No need to shoot it again, just wait and it will go boom.
As far as I'm concerned this level represents a huge plot hole; how did the Empire get this major installation set up, complete with retractable walkways for an AT-AT and an enormous landing platform for the falling ship when Kyle was only a few hours behind them in finding the map to this planet?
That had occurred to me as well, in fact. In the Dark Forces illustrated novellas, there is a month or more gap between the latter two volumes though, that covers this game.
Useless trivia: In the large room with the final air current, if you only hit the first switch on the level below to only partially open the hatch, you can drop through the open segments and just float there. Additionally, if you Force Jump and aim for one of the openings as you come down, you'll have enough momentum to push yourself all the way to the bottom of that shaft. There's nothing down there, but it's kind of cool. When I did that, there were two commandos outside the openings. I didn't think I missed any on my way through, so maybe they respawned. There's a section on the wall of the shaft that looks like it would be a hatch or a door, but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually get to the recessed area. If you Force jump from the bottom, you get pushed all the way up and if you just drop down, you don't go down far enough to get into it.
You never use force persuade. From maw the revenge pretty much until I face Boc I hit the persuade power, pulled out my lightsaber and hacked my way through stormtroopers. Saris was the only level I didnt use it because her Jerec and boc will use force seeing but force protection is a great way to beat all of them.
I'd just ask what SDK2K9 asked, lol. So, yeah, what mods you're using and how you installed them? I'm having some problems with it because I'm using the Steam version of Dark Forces II. I'll be very thankful if you send this by a personal mesage to me too! =) Those wind currents are dangerous, indeed. And I liked the new remix. Remembers me the final scene of Episode III, in Tatooine... Anyway, nice walkthrough LBF!
it is funny to see that you are not using any light side force power... It could have helped you a lot in that level, especially the invisibility power.
+magicalxan i used it to get through the respawning stormtrooper section and the lab beneath the wind current tube but then i gave it up. makes the game way too easy
i really don't get why all of a sudden some sections of the game require stormtroopers to respawn, it doesn't make much sense. why here and not, say, in Into the Dark Palace (although the probe droids there that hover in the air do actually respawn if i'm not mistaken)? i mean, maybe it does help the gameplay a bit in the AT-ST section because it forces you to shut the door behind you (which i obvciously didn't do because i just didn't notice the damn switch) but here it's just kind of random
Which version have you??? My version is too bad in graphics, I mean I have the original version. Do you have a link to download your version of this game and Mysteries Of The Sith????
It should open if you activated both of the prior switches. I'm not sure about the order in which you activate them though. I don't think it matters. I hope that helps!
I mean I didn't activate the door. Great videos btw, your advice for the force protection saved my ass during the fight against Jerec. Tried it with force percuasion first, but that wasn't enough.
Ah there is a button in that room below with the two elevators, it is in the center just opposite that main screen. Hit that and you can hit the button above.
Hey #LightningBoltForever i have a big problem. My music is missing on my steam version of this game and i also found a patch online in the steam forums.... but still i can´t manage to install this patch and the game shows me: inmmm.dll can´t be found or smth. Can you help me out? It would be perfect if u could give me a good instruction how to install the patch or when there is even an another way.... THX Great video of a great Game Series

The crossbow is actually quite good at distances, is very precise. I used to use it as a kind of sniper rifle.
Bowcaster*
@@SYCZ you are right, I used to play back in the 90's and i forgot the name.
jan ors is actually hot
There was never a question about if she's hot ORS not! GOT IT?
And she's real!

Thanks for doing these videos. Nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Yeah, those wind currents. At times, we could surely do without them. And also, there are four levels left, but 20 and 21 are boss battles.
Always loved the massive open spaces in this level!
Why, theres nothing in them
@@WeCareAlot4693 you just don't get it 🚬
These are great. I really hope you do Mysteries of the Sith sometime!
Believe me, Mysteries is planned. I'm just having the toughest time trying to get it to run with all these mods on my PC properly. :/
+LightningBoltForever go on the JK Hub and you can download it for Win 8 and you need the CD. I don't know about the mods cuz I don't play with them.
Remove the mods. GG WP.
That 3rd secret with the windpipe is a pain in the ass

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

U r a nerd
Goddamn, Jerec should have been the next Emperor, but Kyle ruined it! XD
13:25 What an *airhead.*
Haha yeah, for some reason it probably would never get old. =D

Fart knockers... Ha! I haven't heard that since I was a kid.
Good game 😎👍
I would just go lightsaber/protect and be pretty much untouchable :)
EXACTLY! i dont know why he doesnt did that, is so easier that way
Hello and thank you for your videos, What's the name of the graphic mod you are using for the characters in dark forces II and MoTS?
I can't go trough this air vent in the elevator shaft at the beginning 😭 i just don't want to fit and keep being pushed backwards
I'd just ask what SDK2K9 asked, lol. So, yeah, what mods you're using and how you installed them? I'm having some problems with it because I'm using the Steam version of Dark Forces II. I'll be very thankful if you send this by a personal mesage to me too! =)

I'm using the "Jedi Knight Enhanced" mod for the graphical changes. I can't post a link in this comment, but I'll send you a link in a message. =)
That would be nice, since you're getting many questions about how you install those mods. Anyway, thank you!
Wind currents! Looks like they're good and bad at the same time.......
How many more levels are there?
I wonder if Jeric would have become a Sith Lord if he completely absorbed the valley's power, even if he had no formal Sith training.
So what mod are you using and where can I get it?
did you get a chance to play any of the expansion packs for "Duke Nukem 3D" yet? if not, they're on Steam when getting the Megaton Edition
Yep. I've played each of the expansion packs, even though I haven't completed them all, but I have't in a while.

seems like you have a future as a stormtropper jk:p
your commentating style kinda reminds me of downwhere's; dunno if you've heard the name
Which version have you??? My version is too bad in graphics, I mean I have the original version. Do you have a link to download your version of this game and Mysteries Of The Sith????
here you have link to remastered version
also you'll find on this web remastered expansion pack MoTS

Same.

Faris Hedzic PS: The music files are included in the steam version but they were not played.....
This is a difficult game to do a walkthrough.
I've been having trouble downloading the mods and I'm sick of it
What's the problem? Are they not downloading? Or are they not running in the game properly?
sigh...those air currents.easily the most annoying part of the game
