You did a great job with this walkthrough (not just this level, the entire game.) I can't even begin to imagine how many times you must have played through the game to know it as well as you do, but it makes it really enjoyable to watch. I also appreciate your style of commentary. I've seen other walkthroughs for games where the player tries WAY too hard to be funny and/or cool, and it quickly gets obnoxious.
I played this as a teenager and I got stuck early on. Many games of the 90s were hard as nails. As an adult I managed to figure out most of it on my own but I STILL need help. Games today are EXTREMELY rail like (by that I mean, they lead you exactly where you need to go and make what you need to do very obvious) and point to what you need to do next.
when i first played this level my english was quite bad, and i thought the Stormtroopers were saying "Set blasters to fool" meaning set your guns to aim at the player who is a fool, and i fel like a full because i got stuck on this level. I thought it was very meta.
I figured out how to complete the level, but I couldn't find all the secrets. I missed the first one you showed. I hated this level, not so much because it's confusing, but because it's so damn dark. I went through half the level with Force Seeing on just to be able to see where I was going. I got really sick of the sound it makes. It gave me flashbacks to the last levels of Mysteries of the Sith. BTW, you don't have to send that elevator up and drop through the hole. There's another way to go. At 1:22 there's a platform across the room and below you. If you run and jump, you'll bounce off that level and end up on the ground floor without taking any damage. You can then ride that elevator up as you do at 4:22 and enter the area from that direction. Secret #2 then becomes #1.
That's a confusing level, for sure, but you handled it pretty well. And about Kyle's lines and jokes, yeah, he loves to do it, even on bad situations, like one on Jedi Academy. That's why he's my favorite character of Star Wars expanded universe. And you used a little bit more the lightsaber on this level, preety cool. Anyway, nice video my friend!
This level did take me quite a few tries, considering that I kept on missing one secret here and there. I'm just thankful I didn't have to do this level a fourth time, lol. And yeah, ya gotta love Kyle, even when he's talking to himself, it's still awesome. Thank you! =D
***** ok thanks. I really recommend the game. I forget when it came out but it is one of my favorite star wars games. the light saber combat is so much fun.
Thank you! I have given some thought about doing the first Dark Forces. Granted I've not played it in a loooooong time, but there's no reason to not start playing it again. =)
I always found it interesting that at around 1:36 when you jump below the elevator you complete a mission objective that's highlighted yellow. I guess it's a hidden objective, but I always thought that was the intended path.
Imperial commandos (who are referred to as death star troopers or imperial navy troopers as well), for some reason were always cool looking; it might be because of the helmets that are worn as part of their uniform, I know that's a wierd reason to like these guys, but it's all I've got to work with; anyway, I always pictured them being paired with stormtroopers in a unique team up, sure they did so in "Return of the Jedi", during the "Battle of Endor" (the ground battle that is), but never have I seen a stormtrooper and navy trooper duo vs the heros...
It's a good thing you have these videos. For two reasons actually; my fucking shitty steam copy of the game decided at some point to start demanding a play cd which I for obvious reasons don't have, and refuses to show me the cutscenes without it. Also, as much as I like this game, it sometimes gets really shitty and stupid about pixel hunting for some switch or doors not looking like doors so whenever I run into something like that, I just cheat by checking where to go in your videos :P
actually, you don't need the cargo to form the bridge, you can force jump over to the other side on your own (it's not exactly easy but totally doable). i of course missed the switch that would make it turn. anyway, yeah, the level is confusing, probably even more so than level 9 but much duller. lots of places that lead nowhere (such as that little brown water pool, what was even the point of that?). got six secrets out of seven, missed the first one behind the "flammable" wall. well, at least this time i actually got some stars out of it, not like the level before when i got the same amount yet no stars. phew, onto the last exploration level of the game... i seriously hope we'll finally get out of those goddamned corridors
The variation in level design in this game is just amazing. Think about this level compared to the first few.
This game is so fucked up. I didn't make it past level 6 when I was younger, and now that I'm watching him do it I still don't think I could
@@thejacobmeister That being said, the levels don't 100% match the live-action cutscenes.

This level - the most CONFUSING in the game.
I got lost several times.
Playing for the first time after completing Dark Forces Remastered.
Love the game but would never have made it this far without your help.
Thank you 👍
This is probably my favorite level from any game. The verticality here is great and actually gives meaning to your force jump ability.
In that you can use force jump to skip the entire turning box thing. This level sucks, took me down the path of the Dark Side IRL
This level does seem unnecessarily complicated, but you did a great job traversing it :)
I know that feel: It used to take me FOREVER to finish this level because its layout is so fraking complex!
Bad*

@@WeCareAlot4693 Terrible.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who found this level confusing!!
I need to play this game again. It's been way to long.
Play It again, again

Even with your guides this game's level design is *S U P E R* congusing. No idea how I finished for the first time.

I've progressed so much thanks to you!
Great! I'm very glad I've been able to help. =)
***** hey man love your walkthrough. Do you think you could do Jedi knight Academy?
I've actually never played Academy before. But that doesn't mean that I couldn't LP it. It, like Outcast and MOTS, is still a possibility. =)

2:22 secret 2
3:25 secret 3
3:30 secret 4
12:30 secret 5
13:05 secret 6
16:16 secret 7
You have to admit: Thy have built this base VERY fast given that Jerec didn't have the map for a long time!
Yeah I’ve thought about that a lot over the years. No way they built all this. Maybe some of it is ancient facilities that the imperials augmented

Be careful Kyle Katarn!!!

Which are the lightsaber mods that you are using? I mean the look and sound.
Good game 😎👍
you said in the beginning of the vid that this level was giving you trouble the first time you played it. Which part stopped you exactly?
The vid clip at the beginning level explains why Jerec is blind j/k
So only one level left?
One more "normal" level, then levels 20 and 21 are just lightsaber duel levels, so they'll be pretty quick.
Are you using any mods for this?
Yep. I'm using the "JK Enhanced" and "Retextured" mods with some others that make changes to the lightsaber and HUD.
I asked last time and i ask again...hau is your cinematic full screan after you moded the game mine and all other ppl are minimise ?:)
Is it bad that I will use your videos as a cheat sheet to find all the secret areas when I replay this game on camera for YT? Lol
can I play this game with my samsung galaxy tab?
no u can't, this game is for pc and probably for playsation too...
סטיבן מרסלנד
No, only the first Dark Forces got a Playstation port. However, its sequel, Jedi Outcast was on the GameCube, PS2, and X-Box.
Omg Im playing at17 level and this one looks impossible :(
God they really stopped trying with these last handful of levels.
Even with this video I just cannot navigate this level. I had to use a cheat code to skip the level cuz it’s just not possible
Thanks, you help me with this stupid level. I think original JK looks much better without those mods.
Probility is gad armort
My eyes hurt watching the way you play, screen shaking all over the place it makes me feel sick.. however I do enjoy listening to you...
The layout of this level makes less sense than Trump's border policy.
It's been 2 years since this comment I was suspecting a retort by now lol
The layout of this map is more well planned than Hillary’s foreign policy
Joe Biden has been playing since 98 and is trying to finish this level. He just forgets his place.
