Well. Kyle always falls to dark side. In Jedi Outcast he falls by death of Jan and tries to get his revenge from Desann. Falling to dark side doesn't mean joining to dark side. They just use the power of the dark side. Obi-Wan, Luke, Mace Windu most of the jedis fall to dark side. There is one jedi that didn't fall to dark side: Yoda.
+Thesquareandweird That's just a gameplay contrivance, and a stupid one. They want you to earn all your powers back little by little because it wouldn't be fun to start with everything. You'd be too powerful. They couldn't make him forget it all again in Jedi Academy so you played as one of his padawan. And it's also why you play as Mara instead of Kyle in MOTS. So that you can experience going from rookie to master all over again.
I think that it makes sense from Palpatine as a character. It wasn't enough for him to destroy the Jedi - he corrupted their home into a place of evil, as well.
I like the concept of the Imperial Palace being built on the ruins of the Jedi Temple, but I much prefer how it looks in something like Star Wars Tie Fighter where the base of the structure looks like the Jedi Temple (yes, I know Tie Fighter predates the first appearance of the Jedi Temple in the Phantom Menace). I hate how in the New Canon, the Imperial Palace is just the Jedi Temple with a couple of Imperial flags hanging from the base. It looks so stupid. Versus the grandiose design of the original.
There were various concepts of the Imperial Palace some resembling Sith Temples But this is likely not Legends Coruscaunt as in Legends the New Republic still has it as their capital but Emperor Katarn may change that
I like that the dark path isn't set in a single choice, but by tapping into dark powers and harming innocents. It brings the story and gameplay together. Contrast with Jedi Academy, where you can spend zap, choke and rage your way through the game, but stay good story-wise. It makes the dark side seem less dangerous, like it has no hold on you. zingtea No, I prefer Academy’s dark vs light dynamic. In Academy if you choose the dark side, you actually get to win. You get a whole alternate ending and the ensuing levels play out differently. In Jedi Knight it’s there but it’s clearly underdeveloped when compared to the light side ending you’re supposed to choose. Basically the game is biased so that most people playing through will land up on the light side unless you actively try to get the dark side ending, which isn’t really all that different apart from one cutscene and facing Yun instead of Sariss. Also, even when you win you don’t really win because Kyle is not at peace with his father’s death. Whereas you get a completely different ending to the gameplay in Academy and you win for real with no ironic twists. That said I do agree with you that JK gives light/dark more value by actually having to hurt innocents and choose dark powers to fall to the dark side, making it more gradual a change and more lore accurate.
In jedi knight 2, you can zap, choke and rage your way through, and you get the light side ending, because it's the only ending and kyle is just a badass ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Huesudo There’s no rage in the single player in Outcast, only in multiplayer. It’s not choke, it’s Grip, and all Force users light and dark use grip. Although lightning is typically more commonly used by dark jedi and Sith, it has not been unknown for light side users to use lightning from time to time, such as Plo Kloon, who used the ability during the time of the Old Republic.
I haven't played Academy but I was disappointed that Jedi Knight forces you to be either 100% light or 100% dark, with 0 in-between. It would have been cooler if I could pick whatever force powers I wanted at any time.
Kyle was on another different level the Valley, offered godhood within Star Wars "“The Force of thousands of Jedi is trapped here. If Jerec captures this power, he will be a creature such as the universe has never seen. The supernova of stars in a fleeting thought - the eradication of life from a star system in a whisper - will be within his power.” This is what Kyle absorbed in the DS ending, it as well gave the user omniscience. Now you can see why having bodyguards would be ridiculous.
What's the farthest this Kyle could get in the marvel and DC universe, like what superhero would it take to beat him if the legends of the valley of the jedi is true?
@@NahuNarutoKyubi You are so right. Soon you can say that for Episode X, or to the next trilogy. Kyle Katarn and this story that Dark Forces/Jedi knight series presented would get Star Wars back to its heights.

i remember playing this game when I was younger and only being able to complete the game on dark side, I thought THIS was the canonical ending until MotS!
Anyway, let imagine this ending was a bad night He did before Level 12 or 13...he will be always a good guy who prefer sacrifice himself for the goodness than to be in the dark side, a true hero and one of the MOST BADASS FPS heroes of all time! :D
This is the ending that should have been canon. Jedi Outcast should have been called Dark Emperor's Wrath, or something like that. Also, sex scenes with Sariss!
@DarthRushy Ohhh... yeah. They really skimped on the cutscenes for the Dark side, in everything except the very end. In KOTOR 1, you basically take over the big evil thing instead of destroying it, and you use its power to command the Sith and be the big leader guy. Like this ending here, only not quite as cool. In KOTOR 2, it's almost exactly the same ending as the Light Side version, only you hang around in the big evil place instead of escaping it as it blows up.
There are two ending to the game, light side, in which you save Jan, kill all the dark jedi and carve a statue of Morgan, and Dark side in which you kill Jan and Jerec and Sariss joins you as your dark apprentice. The default is Light, but to trigger the Dark you must kill bystanders and non fighting people throughout the game till you get to the point where you fight Maw. After that there is no turning back, you're either light or dark side.On the skills menu you can see your light/dark points.

He means the imperial academy, where you would train to be an imperial officer during the galactic civil war. Many then defected to the side of the rebel alliance afterward- Eg many of the members of Rogue Squadron were trained by the empire then defected. Han solo as well, was an imperial officer, but couldnt execute a rogue wookie, and was kicked out. That Wookie was Chewbacca
Ask yourself this: IS there really a Light or Dark Side? Or does it just depend on the intention of the user? If I use Force Choke to take down a guy mugging an old lady, or if I use Force Lightning to jumpstart the heart of a guy in cardiac arrest, does that constitute as using the Dark Side? What if I use Obi-Wan's favorite technique, the Mind Trick, to get women to sleep with me? Or if I use the Force to heal a serial killer? Does that constitute as using the Light Side?
This is one of my most favorite games but with this and other dark side game endings ive always found them kind of dumb since the protagonists never had any interest in taking the empire's throne if anything theyd want to destroy the empire and kill everyone... also its hard to believe that theyd just show up and say "Hey I'm someone U've never heard of but I killed your leader so im the new boss here" and everyone would be ok with it
@BaronGrackle No, I didn't mean the good guy becoming Emperor is a bad ending, but killing Jan for almost no reason besides her being useless and suddenly becoming Jerec's rival is kinda... stupid. Maybe they should have had Kyle attacking the Dark Jedi instead of Jan. Haven't played KOTOR and it's sequel, what are the endings there?
Question: Why is there no one around except Sariss and Kyle? Come on, he's the EMPEROR and I didn't see a single soldier or an officer. He's the EMPEROR and no one's there to meet him??
Play Jedi Outcast; Katarn uses Force Lightning and Force Choke on his enemies, but he managed to stay good. Why? Because he was using those "dark side techniques" for the cause of good, and not of evil like Jerec or Desann did.
What a galaxy... one emperor dies, five more want to take his place and in this case one won one year after Endor, leaving all sacrifice and fight against Palpatine completely moot.
Well there were 2 tie fighters guarding Kyle's ship, so there has to be troopers in the palace, is just that we don't get to see them. The game states that the power of the Valley is so great that its beared would gain omniscience and the power to wipe out entire solar systems with a fleeting thought. So perhaps Kyle just don't need guards around him, though they are certaintly there in the Palace, just not near his presence.
@DarthRushy No, one of the things that bugged me about Jedi Outcast was that there was only one ending. If you haven't played KOTOR 1, it really is a blast. The best part of the game is the Sith Academy. You end up killing almost all of the Sith, sometimes in ironic ways. (SPOILER: One part has another student bully you into giving him an artifact you found, but you can give him a fake version of it, and then he turns it into the Sith headmaster... and gets killed for finding the wrong one.)
I love it: "I have no time for petty rebellions." Goes, sits on his ridiculously large throne ............ and does NOTHING.

Kyle: And I cringe, I don't smile
As I sit there on trial, asking:
Kyle's Projection: Aren't you ashamed? You old Katarn?
You 'ought to be locked in a hoosgow, you should
The things that you do are completely ungood!
Kyle: Yeah, but if I didn't do them
Then someone else would!
Kyle's Projection: That's a very good point
Mister Katarn!
[They shake hands. The projection disappears.]
Kyle: I'm a Dark Emperor now. And Dark Emperors should be as bad as they could be!
[He continues to sit alone, not knowing what else to do.]
The woman doing Sariss is the best actor of them all
i remember playing this game when I was younger and only being able to complete the game on dark side, I thought THIS was the canonical ending until MotS!
Well Kyle, there's Luke to deal with. And Reborn Palpatine. And the Yuuzhan Vong.
thanx for the video, its one of my favourite games!
You kill so many Stormtroopers in this game that maybe they're on backorder. Or maybe he just doesn't feel comfortable with them in his throneroom.
What a legendary game this is. Excellent music, superb level design, great secrets. Really the pinnacle of Star Wars games.
This is much better than Disney EU
Ah, just another day at the office....
the same place from Clone Wars
Its times like this that i always wander, why does Lucasarts ALWAYS go with the lightside endings!?
I remember this being a little more tear jerking as an 12 year old. lol
@DracheN0504 Yes I fully agree. The death of Sariss was one of the few things besides difficult boss battles that I didn't like in this game.
Also, sex scenes with Sariss!
no, just no
I wonder where Luke, Han and Leia would be in this timeline.
Damn, Marvel needs to turn this into an alternate timeline comic book series
You are right, I believe Kyle is the jedi battle master or weapon master, or what ever it's called.
1:00 Looks back out over empty city. "oh man, being emperor sucks."
Cgi cities don't have a population
@DarthRushy Ohhh... yeah. They really skimped on the cutscenes for the Dark side, in everything except the very end.
In KOTOR 1, you basically take over the big evil thing instead of destroying it, and you use its power to command the Sith and be the big leader guy. Like this ending here, only not quite as cool.
In KOTOR 2, it's almost exactly the same ending as the Light Side version, only you hang around in the big evil place instead of escaping it as it blows up.
Just wanted to check if this was the LiMerge Power Building. It looks awfully similar.
It's an earlier version of the Imperial Palace.
Emperor Kyle.
Poor cute Jan Ors died. :(
0:45
SARISS: There's word of an uprising.
KATARN: ...And you didn't mention this on the ship why?
OMG THANKS FOR POSTING THAT
should have gone with the light... Kyle you Fool! HAHA! I love this game! Best Starwars sidestory of all TIME! Thank you Very much for posting these videos!
He might be taking a toilet break and that's actually his bathroom, which is why he has no time.
you just blew my mind, bro
that kicked ass
Imagine this as a movie.
Couldn't agree more. And it "started" such a great series.
This was always the ending I chose.
i have no time for petty uprisings...extinguish them....PAINFULLY
Interesting to note how similiar this cutscene is to the ending of Attack of the Clones when Darth Tyranus visits Sidious on Coruscant.
So cringe, yet so nostalgic.
I always wondered if this palace was the precursor to the place that one guy lands at the end of episode 2.
I want to play this again
How come there were only 2 videos after you joined the dark side, the light side had 6 videos.
I don't get why there won't more darkside cut scenes like there was for lightside
yes he is....this is the non canon version...the "light side" version is the "real" version, as mentioned before..
This is one of my most favorite games but with this and other dark side game endings ive always found them kind of dumb since the protagonists never had any interest in taking the empire's throne if anything theyd want to destroy the empire and kill everyone... also its hard to believe that theyd just show up and say "Hey I'm someone U've never heard of but I killed your leader so im the new boss here" and everyone would be ok with it
No names mentioned... JKA
"Once more the sith will RULE the galaxy...and we shall have...peace....."
All heil Emperor Katarn! I would be proud of him too.
more darkside encounters plz if there are any
Question: Why is there no one around except Sariss and Kyle? Come on, he's the EMPEROR and I didn't see a single soldier or an officer. He's the EMPEROR and no one's there to meet him??
DarthRushy He wiped out the entire storm trooper army during the play throughout. Now he is all alone O_O
Could be Coruscant (Imperial Centre) or Could be Bastion (later Capital)
Its hard to tell.
He means the Imperial Academy. The holo was recorded when the Empire was still around in full control.
Play Jedi Outcast; Katarn uses Force Lightning and Force Choke on his enemies, but he managed to stay good. Why? Because he was using those "dark side techniques" for the cause of good, and not of evil like Jerec or Desann did.
1:10 "Maan, what should I do next? It's way too boring here."
should never have blown up those random droids on nar shaddaa
I really have to ask. Are these clips cutscenes from "Dark Forces" game? I never had a chance to play it, so I'm curious.
