- Level 4 of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II titled "The Jedi's Lightsaber". Played on the Medium difficulty with 100% secrets.
Kyle begins to explore his father's old workshop where he comes across WeeGee and uses him to play the encrypted message in the data disk. At this point, Kyle has finally become more knowledgeable about the Force, and he has been granted his lightsaber which once belonged to Jedi Master Rahn. Kyle then must traverse through the irrigation systems near the workshop to rendezvous with Jan on the other side. - Игры
I got this game in 1998. It was the greatest shit ever at the time.
The sounds in this game give me the feels.
This game represented a turning point in gaming. It had some awesome Online opportunities, including the Mandelorian mod.
I always thought the entire Jedi Knight series was great and unique, but so much more could have been done with it.
I really hope for some new additions someday, with a lot of thought and heart put into it.
I would love to see all of the Jedi Knight games remastered but it’s too bad that might not happen because Disney is stupid and made it legends (non canon) and dark forces 2 is my favorite one of all the Jedi Knight games.
This whole level would have made a great water park in reality...
As I kid I actually put god mode on and pretended I was at a water park in this level lol, jumping from high heights like at 9:00
Those jellyfish things really freaked me out as a kid for some reason lol
me too, they're called "water cyc"
I played this game with a friend and we always pronounced it C-Y-C like it's an acronym
Same.... and judging from the likes we ain't alone at all haha
I love your in game commentary… its so calming and straightfoward.
Those who played and loved the game like how you treat the material with respect.
Those who havent can experience what we experienced the first time we played it
"Down you go!"

:D :D
This is my favorite level on the game. I'm a sucker for long, linear levels and I think the grey and blue color scheme is aesthetic.
I'm 15, and yes, this is part of my life, my father showed me this amazing game when I was just a kid, and I love it. I'm still gonna show this game to my future children! Star Wars will always live in us
Bianca Lima C. That's if the 128bit systems of the feature will even have a chance of playing this old game. LBF has had nightmares getting this to run on his system. I had less cause there are a number of tutorials out there that I used, but it was still a pain.
its been 22 years since i last played this game. i cant possibly guess how many playthroughs i had, but it was, a lot. watching this playthrough, i am remembering every detail of this level as if i had played the game yesterday. the next free time I get, jedi knight is what I'm doing.
Design of this game is crazy comared to games now. They simply don't make games like that anymore, Shame
+waldekzone11 yeah, i especially like it when you're high up and you can hear the wind howling about you. recenty i started playing many famous games i missed in my time and so i beat Portal 2, Deus Ex, Batman Arkham Asylum and now i moved on to Jedi Knight, so it's kind of a pattern: new-old-new-old. there really is something about those classic games, i just feel so much more in control of my character. it all works so smoothly, takes a couple seconds to load the game so even harder parts don't really get frustrating
Yes!
Agreed
new game bad
This game ruined so many of my school grades whenever I was younger..... Freaking classic man. Good walkthrough dawg!!!
I loved this one level here.
I am really enjoying this series. Can't wait to watch all your other Star Wars content :)
Yeah, the Glowsaber mod allows the Kyle to deactivate his lightsaber even still with the handle out. =)
11:30 I legit had nightmares about that jellyfish as a child, and it pretty much gave me a fear of squids/jellyfish and general tentacle things in the water. Coming back here some 15 years later is very therapeutic, seeing the silly 16 bit jellyfish go down in two shots. May be a weird thing, but this level has stuck with me since childhood. Even rewatching it now at 22, I got goosebumps approaching that level.
Thanks for the upload man!
Same here, I remember doing that part, pressing the button and then diving back, I always played in 1st person so I freaked out when I got hit in the water, not seeing what hit me and then turning up seeing the water cyc without seeing one before, holy wiener schnitzel did I jump out of my chair as a kid. Since then I have hated every single water level in 1st person video games
@@orjaviisi6519 Thats crazy how we both had the same experience as kids and it grew into a fear..
I have really vague memories of being fourteen and playing this level, going through endless water-slides hacking screaming mule-men to death. It's fun to relive those moments!
I am currently playing this game.
It took me time to get used to get used to the controls and mechanics, but once you learn how to play it it is a blast from the past
Me also, On Hard, GOG version
if you kill wegee, the droid at the beginning of the level, (which takes like an hour of lightsaber slashing,) it actually gives you the dark side path dialog, that you're not supposed to get until later on in the game.
Gotta love the lightsaber. It is THE weapon. And thank you!
These flying things - I called them flying scorpions because of their tails - but yes they scared the crap out of me when I was playing this game back in the 1990s. I hated level 4!!!! LOL
So nice to go back see just how much I remember!! Must remember not to comment any more since I have already commented twice on this video!! LOL
And may The Force be with you!
6:17 You wish back in the days in the very 1-st Dark Forces, where u had to find batteries for the flashlight ....
+dvdvideo1234 In Jedi Outcast u have to find batteries too
+Moxi I know it just reminded me of Dark forces ;)
I think he should do jedi Knight 2 jedi outcast walkthrough after this. JK2 Jedi Outcast was one of the best star wars games ever. And after that he can do walkthrough for JK3 Jedi Academy. That game was also great.
+Bazarov Nihil Late but agree, i'm playing Outcast right know, later Academy.. :D
+SpaceCow Right now Im playing outcast too. What a great game, never gets old.
Bazarov Nihil Actually one of the best games I've ever played.
You know what, Im still playing that game in today. Lol.
Bazarov Nihil Same never get's old. Surprisingly good lightsaber combat and loads of fun force powers. Force speed: slows down time and makes you faster... Awesome. Force jump: Leap into the air and saber-rape stormtroopers on your way down with your falling pressure, jump over gaps and ledges and it looks hell'a badass... Awesome. And of course forcepush, forcepull, forcegrip and force lightning and all the loads of awesomeness in this game.
This was fun and you're talented teller too. Brought 'some' memories this one. ^_^
funny amusing and showing us how it done. Lots of fun will be tracking the next level!!
I played this game before and I completed it on easy and medium, because your videos helped me a lot. Right now Im working on hard difficultly.
In that case, good luck! Hard difficulty is surely not a force to be reckoned with. And thank you, too! I'm glad to have been able to help. =)
You really know this game inside and out.
Saber combat is always fun! This level really tries to kill you a lot with all those nerve-racking jumps!
That visual bug with parts of Kyle disappearing shows a limitation of the SITH engine as character models and the like are .3do, which utilize individual pieces to form a character so they can't bend or stretch compared to the skeletal animations of .mdl files used in Half-Life later on in the 90s.
More huge drops and a lightsaber, excellent video :)
I always thought the water looked so clean and clear in this game. I always wanted a pool like the water in this game.
such good memories :)
The face on the right (Dark Side) in the menu at 18:00 looks a lot like Darth Plagueis.
this was such a sweet game!
Oh brother, I actually want to play this again. with these mods. Although I still don't like the HUD. Those circle HUDs were iconic.
I know, right? About time we get the saber in the game. I tell ya what, it is by far the most fun weapon to use. It tops all of the guns in my opinion. And I'm glad you like that remix at the end. I'm glad I used for this game. It's really catchy. I'll also be using some other remixes too. =)
My one complaint with the lightsaber is that if anything, it's a bit TOO good, especially in later games. This game does it well, with the sabers power being limited to melee range, meaning guns still have a purpose, especially with how slow force energy recharges
This soundtrack is the EXACT same as the soundtrack in Jedi Academy! (The best Jedi Knight game by FAR)
played that as a kid, never finished as got confused xD thx!
3:25 secret 1
5:12 secret 2
6:42 secret 3 & 4
10:30 secret 5
14:34 secret 6
You should consider playing Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy!
99thJediWarrior I've though about it. It is a possibility. =)
+LightningBoltForever Haha i'm late but could you please consider playing jedi outcast, it's about Kyle too! Man they need to remaster this game franchise!
+LightningBoltForever Those are not Tusken Raiders. :D
***** That's your opinion.
***** Outcast is a lot better, agree with you.
this was my very first game i played.
Had lots of fun.
Thx for uploading, this brings back so mutch memories,
i tryed to instal it but im on windows 8.1 so it wont run even if i select 95 or XP to run it
I love your enthusiasm man! Long live the EU!
Wait a minute: Tusken Raiders are from Tatooine. What are they doing on Sulon?
99thJediWarrior
These tuskens were actually looking for a certain tusken warlord who was unmasked by obi-wan Kenobi and banashed from tatooine, these guys worshipped him and shed their masks to honor him, and searched the galaxy for him until they met Maw who employed them, the tusken they were looking for was learning to be a Sith Lord on korriban, the Sith tombworld.
These tuskens were slaves of Morgan Katarn that worked his plantation, after he died they occupied the house and plantation. Kyle killed them because otherwise he'd have to pay a ton of reparations to their families, and he didnt inherit any of his father's wealth.
I was just thinking about the sewers in Dark Forces 1, which confused me as a kid, when you mentioned this lvl confused you:D
I've never seen it in action, but I've heard rumors that there is a sort of Easter egg in this mission. If you kill Wee-Gee (which takes a VERY long time, he has like a million HP) it's a shortcut that immediately sends you straight to 100% dark side, and then sends you directly to the light/dark crossroads point in the story.
That Easter Egg exists! :) I featured it in a bonus video for the game here: ruclips.net/video/Y4QF7wKrPNE/видео.html&ab_channel=LightningBoltForever
when i was a kid those water monsters scared the ever living shit out of me haha
You and me both lol
8:40, this part scared me....this kind of part gave me some vertigos lol....
Thanks for the videos, i dont find a lot of secrets in that game...
Anyway, awesome game! :)
Finally, Kyle got a Jedi lightsaber, the most elegant, powerful and unique melee weapon ever made, both for offense and defense as well. His appearance, sound, power, it's amazing! And it's a green one?! I'm surprised because on further Jedi Knight games (Outcast and Academy), Kyle's lightsaber color is blue. And wait... how a lightsaber can work under water?
Anyway, great video LBF! Kyle will saber-slash much more enemies from now, lol.
A doublesaber? Awesome!
The game you mean? Oh yeah. It is. One of the best games I've ever played.
First multiplayer i played over a 56k. Swat mod...good times :)
Some days I just want to buy an old console and buy all of the old star wars games because those were truly the best ones. Except, the force unleashed is a really fun game for one of the newer star wars games.
Those flying creatures are called mailocs and boy they look even more terrifying in this hd mod which I didn't think was possible, anyway nice walkthrough.
+JustAnotherUser565 they're easy to hack though, probably the best use for your lightsaber, at least up until this point. currently i'm playing the game on the Hard difficulty (made it to Barons Hed this morning) and i rarely use the lightsaber. kind of a shame but really, it's not easy to charge into a group of enemies and hack them down without getting hurt yourself (i always load a quicksave if i get hit more than once in a battle as i don't want to risk getting stuck someplace later). blasters usually work better here, it's safer that way
Oh. Yeah. Kyle has his lightsaber now. When do you get it in KOTOR? I'm dying to know! Haha anyway, yeah, those jumps are scary and they do get harder as we progress, especially in Level 18. And Kyle's a ghost! He may not even be alive at all, he could be a Force Ghost, but he's not blue, lol. That non-secret: don't know why it took me so long to get it, but oh well. And thank you, too, man!
I used to love playing this game all of the time. I think this was before they really established that you can't activate your lightsaber underwater
Yeah, this game brought back a LOT of great memories when I Let's Played it. And yeah, what's up with activating the lightsaber underwater? I've always wondered if that could actually happen, lol.
There is also Kit Fisto's lightsaber which was made for underwater use during the Clone Wars cartoon series. As far as in games I don't know of but maybe one or two where you can use one underwater before they fully established it.
Even just WATCHING this was nervewracking. This level was the one I hated the most and took me the longest time to get through back when I was playing this 20 years ago. That was becasue of those sewers and the iron frame thing along with those god awful flying scorpion bugs!! But your commentary is great!!
You can also shoot the landmines as well if you don’t want to use a detonator. That’s what I used to do. You don’t have to destroy all mines to pass.
Huh, I didn't know shooting them would work. Cool. Thanks for tellin' me. =)
***** Yeah… I remember finding that out by just goofing off & taking a chance. I used to make custom skins for the game, & I used to just play through it seeing how well that they would work.
Personally… I think that they Bryar pistol is the best 1 to use. Hopefully I am not screwing this up with another game, but if I remember correctly… the Bryar pistol can charge up like it does in Outcast in JK. It’s a lot more reliable than the Trooper & Repeater rifles (because it doesn’t scattershot)… & I think that it takes 2 or 3 hits to make a mine pop. JK was in the same generation as the N64/GoldenEye type games, & I remember a lot of games at that time would have triggers where you had to sniper shoot them. A Concussion rifle works just like a detonator (Surprise)… but you can nail mines with your rifle.
It really does. And jumps like that only get harder and harder to do. Level 18 comes to mind. =O
Use the force jump Kyle.
I've always liked the waterpark feel of this level.
(A-D-D-F_Toxic)
Me too. =)
***** Hey man, I can't find the skins or HUD mods on JKhub, do you know if they are still there? Thanks.
Dan Liebman They're on the website. They're kinda difficult to get to though. Anywho, here's the links to both of the mods: www.jkhub.net/project/get.php?id=1222 and www.jkhub.net/project/get.php?id=1206
***** thanks dude, you rock!
No problem =)
Man i remember when this game came out! It's so whimsical for me. love the mods ***** where did you get em?
gotta say this game so much better then the new once, even with a mode...
and btw will you a walkthrough for mysteries of ths sith with that mod ??
I plan to do MotS with the mods, yes. Just as soon as I can get it to work on my computer.
It could have also allowed Kyle, as well as Jerec and his Dark Jedi cronies, to throw their lightsabers.
The lightsaber combat was so clunky in this game and on harder difficulties it was unusable until you got protection. This sounds a little weird saying it out loud but you get my point :)
I love this game!! Did you ever play online at the Zone website?
Execute: Come on Purple Come Purple show me the money 1:16
Kyle is happy now that he has his saber, because now he can use it against any disgusting creatures he comes into contact with, and trust me. There's lots of 'em. The most fun thing to do is chop off limbs and animal tails with the lightsaber. And yeah, this one's a green one. Don't know why they changed the color for Outcast, but regardless, it's still cool. And I have no idea how it works underwater, but hey, at least it does.
I’m stuck on this level particularly the ditch in the tunnels I keep trying to jump but I keep landing in the water and I keep getting pulled away
Nvm found the answer!
This game was my childhood. I wasn’t very good at it though….may or may not have used cheats…
How do you use force power
Use to watch my brother play this when I was much younger, I could've sworn the lightsaber was at first person view?
zimThuet Ah cool! Well Im playing the 1st part, will move on to the second after it!
They should remake this game and Jedi Academy for Xbox One
Duke Nukem [after cutting off a PigCop's head with a lightsaber]: Oooooh, nasty!!!!
what mod or new graphic tools are you using?
You can deactivate the lightsaber? How the heck do you do that? I never had that ability back when I played this game. As far as I was concerned, that feature was introduced in Jedi Outcast.
Is it maybe part of the mod you're using?
im not 100% sure. but i think those winged creatures r called monarchs. im not 100% sure tho. for some reason monarch comes to mind. ik those dragon creatures on later missions i think r called kell dragon. i hav a instruction manual somewhere cant find it that has every enemies names and picture. i think it came with dark forces 2 and mysteries of the sith expansion pak. unfortunately the dark forces 2 is more a beta version. only 3 playable levels. i got the full version bout 6 to 9 years later i was astounded at the time that there was a longer version of game that had every enemy in that instructions manual that wasnt in the short version
Dude F9 quick saves it if it's anything like the original
HOW DO U SWITCH BETWEEN FORCE POWERS IN DIS GAME IT DONT WORK
Why did they not remake this for the Switch
Why are there random jellyfish in the sewer I never understood that
Feasting on the waste
i have a question. i have downloaded enhanced pack, and my graphics is better and all, but where did you find that great looking lightsaber with that sound? what mod is that?
Oh! For the lightsaber, I used the "Glowsaber" mod, and for the sounds themselves, I used two mods that apply different sound effects. You can get all of the mods here:
Glowsaber:
jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=414
Sound Pack #1:
jkhub.net/library/index.php?title=Addons:SBX_SoundPack_Addon_-_JK
Sound Pack #2:
jkhub.net/library/index.php?title=Addons:SBX_Sound_Pack_Addon_JK_-_Luke_RotJ_Version
*****
thank you!
No problem!
***** There seems to be more than one glowsaber. Is it the GSX-JK.rar one you used, or GSX.rar?
I used GSX-JK.rar.
Is this a mod or updated version of the game ?
It's a mod! I just got it myself and it's super cool to see the game all updated
Oh?
This particular JK Dark Forces 2 looks pretty sharp for an over 15 years old game, is it modded or something?
Yeah. For this Let's Play, I used a mod called "Jedi Knight Enhanced" which pretty much allows for more polished graphics at higher resolutions. =)
Thanks bro, I'll be getting this game for Steam soon, is this mod easy to find/install??
Sure is! But I should warn you, if you're gonna patch, make sure that you get the original CD version. These mods won't work on Steam, which utterly sucks.
Thanks again
god i really wish they kept kyles green lightsaber in jk2 then boring old blue for the hundreth time like the movies :/
+Howard Stern You can easily switch to green with the "sabercolor green" command
+Attila Mészáros (frentzen100) I used green too all the time in JK2, blue is just boring, I don't know why.
I've always felt the lightsaber depends on the person. I like his Yellow lightsaber the most, but I can understand why he uses the Blue in Outcast. A semi parallel to Luke. Luke started with a Blue and made a Green, while Kyle started with a Green and made a Blue.
hellow!, very nice video but can you tell me the name of the version that you re playing because its very nice and modern please i want to download it, thanks!
It's still the same standard version of Jedi Knight, it's just that I have a few mods installed to make the game look more polished. I used the Jedi Knight Enhacned, Retextured, HUD, and Glowsaber mods. All of them can be downloaded from this website: jkhub.net/
oh well thanks !! you download the addons one by one or is it just a pack skin?
One by one. You can search for most of them in the "Projects" section, although there are a few in the "Addons" section as well.
aha! well thanks bro i hope you undertand me well beacuse im not good with the english haha , very nice video !
***** 11:33 THAT STUPID THING FREAKED ME OUT SO BAD AS A KID. I can't be the only one
like.. i love Star Wars games, one question, i want to download it but the question is; if u consider tha it is a long or short game,? u know, story mode,,, i hope u say , long!..
Johan De La Peña It seems like a long game to me, considering how long the videos I made this game are.
+Johan De La Peña i don't know if you got it already or not but here's a tip just in case: if you decide to buy it, don't get it off Steam, it's very buggy (for instance, if you try to resume the game after bringing up the pause screen, it will crash, all the cutscenes and menu screens are shown in a window rather than full screen and if that wasn't enough, in the background it actually started playing the audio files that were on the CD i got in my laptop when i launched the game). i heard the GoG.com version is much better. just to make sure, don't torrent it, it probably won't work on your system anyway
Thats really helpful thank u so much.. im gonna try gog.com way.. thanks
Johan De La Peña no prob. one more thing for you to bear in mind: people say digital copies don't seem to work with modes such as the one LightningBoltForever is using. i don't mind it myself as i like to play games exactly the way they were released but for some this game is unplayable without improved graphics
Hey hey music star wars cantina hey?
Disney should make something out of this .. Oh .. Wait :)
Do you use mods or something?
i'm wondering this as well. Game looks much better than how I remember it. Also, is the number of force stars earned after a level directly tied to the secrets found, or not?
weegie, before the name became a stupid youtube poop meme.
Worst level in the game 😂
