Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith - (Level 5) Ka' Pa the Hutt's Palace

- Level 5 of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith titled, "Ka' Pa the Hutt's Palace". Played on the "Medium" difficulty with 100% secrets. In this level, we switch from playing as Kyle Katarn to Mara Jade.
While Kyle goes off to investigate the Sith ruins on Dromund Kaas, Mara stays behind to help the New Republic gather supplies. She is informed that they may be able to get help from Ka' Pa the Hutt who is more than willing to make a deal. However, making that deal won't be as easy as originally thought because Mara will have to find a back way into Ka' Pa's palace after being denied entry at the gate...
There is something so satisfying about watching someone breeze past the things that I spent hours trying to figure out as a kid.
For real. It's like reliving the memories you had without having to go through the stress of playing the game.
I honestly don't know how I played this game as a kid. This game looks so hard now.
@@number3729 For me it made the ending an incredible troll. The game trains you in persistence, sets a series of very frustrating walls you have to climb. Kyle is unbeatable but it just felt like the next logical step in the game at that point, like the only remedy was to get better so I invested at least a full afternoon into the evening just trying to get him. When I solved it, it was just out of pure frustration. I'd fought him to a standstill for so long I gave up and suicided, triggering the endgame. It really cemented the game as one of the most memorable I've played.

You didn’t have to kill that first Gran. He just helps fix the machine. The other Gran who answered the door for the Ugnaught is also passive. You didn’t have to kill the Ithorians either. You’re a murderer.
Edit: a couple of Ithorians attacked me. Still, there have been at least three Grans who haven’t caused me any trouble.

On another note, wish there were more Star Wars games that allowed us to play as Mara. Disney made a HUGE mistake not making her canon.
I missed the graphics on the sky, it makes the map feel more like a real map then the old sky 🌌 in 1998's mysteries of the Sith

Why can't I make the jump at 2:37? Weird
I spent a good half an hour trying to make that jump, and it is possible with only one star on force jump. You just really have to hit it at a certain angle

The Gran in Jedi Knight and this game freaked me out as a kid. The scary sounds they made, the way they punch you, the big hands, and the three eyes all gave me nightmares.

one complaint i have with this expansion is i wish the cutscenes were done using fmvs like in dark forces 2
That would've so cool to see. They probably either didn't have as much time or as big of a budget for this one though. But still, FMVs would've been awesome
I like to use Force Pull to disarm enemies from a distance. Unfortunately, they screwed it up in this game. It targets enemies whose weapons you've already pulled, and even civilians. If there are other objects nearby, it seems to give priority to them, over weapons held by enemies. In some cases, it just refuses to target an enemy's weapon for no apparent reason.
How the hell did you manage to force jump up to the cave at 2:12??? I spent about 20 minutes trying to get up there and never once even came close. No matter where I jumped from or where I aimed for, she ALWAYS fell short. In fact, I just went back and tried it again, trying to match your angle as closely as possible, and she still fell way short. I even used the third-person view so I could jump right at the exact edge.
Trivia: If you go through the stone arch opposite the palace door, the path ends at an incline that you can't climb. There's actually a cave at the end of it with two Tuskens and two shield recharges. I can't see any way to get there without cheating though. It would probably be possible if you had Force Speed, but you don't.
When I used the Tuskin clothing, I made sure to have the crossbow in hand to help and when I got in the main palace, I didn't get shot at, at least, not right away...

I swear I’ve never played a game that makes me feel so smart and dumb. I had everything and couldn’t figure out heavy explosives were an item. Ik I’m late to the party but I just got a steam deck to be able to to play these games and just wanna say your videos have been a huge help. Dark forces 2 I only got stuck on once but doing 100% dark side ending now so that’s been huge help. This game. I’ve been stuck way more then I’d like to admit lol

You don't actually have to fight everyone in this level but figuring out which ones attack on sight can be tedious

@ +LightningBoltForever A while back, I found most of these mods that you have used for Mysteries of the Sith (the enhanced MOTS mod, the hi-fi audio, the gfx lightsaber mod, and the enhanced models). I've been watching all of your MOTS LP videos from the first video and from the very beginning and, thanks to you, I now have the re-textured mod, as well. I got most of the mods working, except for the following examples.
1. The re-textured pack doesn't seem to be working (which is very odd because the retextured pack for Dark Forces II worked perfectly.). I've read the instructions carefully and followed them precisely, I've tried everything that I can think of, and I've gone to JK.hub to try to find some help.
2. The enhanced Scout Trooper / Rancor / AT-AT Driver models are always either glitched up and grey or they are their original 16-bit / un-enhanced / versions, models and textures - matter what I do or how I do it. Again, I've read the instructions carefully and followed them precisely, I've tried everything that I can think of and I've gone to JK.hub to try to find some help.
3. Only some of the weapons are still the original 16-bit / un-enhanced models / versions, models and textures. It's really weird. For example, specifically, the DL-44 Blastech pistol (Han Solo's blaster), the seeker rail charger, the flash bombs, and both the standard / original / Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight sequencer charges and the new, Mysteries of the Sith remote-controlled sequencer charges are all the original 16-bit / un-enhanced / versions, models and textures - despite everything else being enhanced and looking great! It's friggin weird - not to mention, annoying and frustrating.
Would you be willing to make a tutorial video and go step-by-step to show everyone how to get each of these mods working perfectly? I've been having these problems for a few years now - except the texture pack for MOTS. As I mentioned, I just found out about that mod from you recently. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

The windows jump secret is just terrible. It doesn't even feel like a proper challenge, and is just tedious to get.
this is a really cool contrast to level 4 of df2. you gain an ability in that level where here they made it a little more challenging and interesting by introducing mara
