Dark Mara is also actually a part of Maras own background story, she was actually a former imperial agent, who was actually tasked by Palpatine to kill Luke Skywalker, but when she had her chance, Luke redeemed her and they fell in love and were married and had a son. So that's nice.
To be more precise, her role in the empire was "Emperor's hand"; there were several others in this role but each one labored under the delusion that he/she was the only emperor's hand, they were more subtle assassins and created less noise than Darth Vader could...
I love this level, it was once the capital of the true Sith Empire and now just a swampy planet. I like they put the storm because it's cool playing in the stormy level, it might be difficult in some places but I still love the level
That’s one reason why I prefer the level design in this game over DF2, is because they were able to do so much more with each level. Don’t get me wrong, DF2 is still my favorite in the series, but this one had a lot more variation in design.
Hey m8 i found out that not all mods from JKDF2 work in JKMS:) All that work are... 1.Hud display of your HP bars but you nou what i talk about as you haved it all the time in JKDF2. 2.Not tested up but the lightsaber part mod you haved in JKDF2 is probobliy working here to but i cant se aniy difrances.... That is all :) Ou and i think you alrediy use it but there is Enhanced version for JKMS and ic probobliy on thiseym page where you faind mods for JKDF2 and i think you alrediy nou about that. This are onliy in game resolution not mine true resolution as mine true resolution is 1920x1080:) To add up to here something is strange i think in bouth Gog and steam version as in JKDF2 you have menus and cutsins windowed but in JKMTS even with mods on you get a full screan....weard isnt it.....:) I forgot to add this... Your game luck fine no blinking no read text no nothing...hau is it so clear ?:)
@@Nite-MiteEven more impressive is knowing that the dark temple is located very close to the abandoned Kass city, headquarters of the Vitiate government. I would have liked to see what it would look like in the modern era in which this game takes place.
I loved and hated Dromund Kaas in this game. Love: The atmosphere is so spooky with dark lore and backstory to it, along with having your lightsaber as your weapon makes it unique Hate: It kicks my ass sometimes.
Back in 1990s I was never able to finish this game - the disc was lost, so only Dark Forces II were a game to play. I read magazines about MOTS though and always tried to imagine, what Dromund Kaas could look like. When I got a chance to play this game, sadly the music was missing in the game. To tell the truth without any track in the background this location looks even grimmer.
I like the retcon that this planet was where the TOR Sith Empire ruled and now, 3000 years later only its ruin remains That makes Legends lore more connected and interesting
Trivia: The ysalamiri are actually lizard-like creatures that have the ability to repel the Force by creating a bubble of "Force-neutral" energy. This animal was also the inspiration for Makashi, Count Dooku's preferred lightsaber combat form. Also, when groups of ysalamiri are altogether, they can expand their Force-neutral bubble by kilometers.
@@chrissonofpear1384 Makashi was a lightsaber combat form well-suited to fighting against Force-wielders or people wielding lightsabers. As such, the ysalamiri were capable of repelling Force energy. Hence why the Makashi form is also known as "The Way of the Ysalamiri".
Wow, that was kinda scary 1:15, the statues eyes were glowing and the draining wall seemed to activate even though you were far away... Did something touch it?
It's the hardest level in the game, for sure. The sheer number of enemies is enough to make you lose patience with it fast. The puzzles, while there are a lot of 'em, are pretty cool I think, though.
The Ysalamari sounds familiar..... It was involved in a Multiplayer game mode in Jedi Outcast! I love the lightning storm effect in here! Changes the colouring of the level.....
I love the lightning storm too. Just goes to show you how much more advanced the same engine that ran DF2 was in this game, and just a few months later, at that!
I never made the "Empire Strikes Back" connection when I played against the "Dark Mara" character, that's interesting, I congratulate you "Lighteningboltforever", I'm impressed by your knowledge, just like me, like I've said before, I'm a fellow star wars fan and would love to compare notes to the old canon stories.
Man this level looks really cool. The whole game does actually. I never played MotS but now I slightly wish I had. A decade or more ago I watched different letsplay of it and that guy just expressed frustration especially toward the end but it actually looks more exciting toward the end, Iove these kinds of environments.
I would have liked to see the state of the Kass city in this game knowing that it is very close to the dark temple, I also like that it was later said that the planet was left with those perpetual rains thanks to Darth Vitiate and his dark rituals, it adds a lot to the lore and the immersion to know that that rain that is in the level has been caused for a long time by something darker
Force Seeing was one of the most bad ass Force neutral moves in this game. Gave the gamer a feel like they were a Jedi being able to see things in pitch black darkness effortlessly with the force
Such a great game! I'm playing Jedi:Fallen Order and I was on the Wookie rescue mission in the swamp and I was looking for the same jumple audio cues there that are in this game. I think there were some similarities.
Found relatively easy way to kill ysalamiri. Get unarmed and hold alternative attack and primary attack. If Mara starts swinging fists like a maniac, then it is working. This attack has more predictable hit location and really fast speed thus easier to track and aim to that worms
Holy shit, a couple decades later I'm just now learning that "shooting blanks" scared it off. I thought the only options were to kill it or push it off the edge! O_O
Great video of this level man. This level can be really difficult when you first play it. I have played this game for years and I never knew about being able to shoot the Ysalamir's and they would wonder off. I like killing them because they are so annoying.
I can't kill the dark mara for some reason. She just tanks and tanks and tanks hits over and over and never dies. I genuinely thought it was some extra puzzle I had to figure out so I came here.
How do you beat dark mara on hard difficulty. I don't have force absorb (never heard of it). Do I have to replay the game and get more secrets just to get more force abilities?
Those definitely aren’t mynocks. Those new enemies from level 11 were maybe intended by the game’s developers to be Noghri, but everything about them from their physical appearance to their very presence in the level are inaccurate. I really doubt the enemies at Kyle’s father’s house in Dark Forces II were Tuskens, as the level clearly didn’t take place on Tatooine.
That’s right, they’re Mailocs as I said, not Mynocks. Concerning the Tuskens, I’m just going by what the game said they were because that character skin is labeled “tusken” in multiplayer and they’re called “tusken” in that level’s loading screen.
LightningBoltForever could you check my comment on your level 13 video? I’m having trouble moving the stone at after the secret guarded by three vornskrs.
She is bs to kill on medium. I didn't have many good force powers, but I would just save-scum it. So quicksave whenever i get a few hits on her and only after she does her lightning. that way if she gets you with the lightning or you take a few hits, just go to the quicksave and get a better outcome. Pretty lame, but I beat her after hitting her like 50 times
I hated these last levels for the fact that you can't use any of your other weapons. I guess they figured the light saber was so cool, they needed to force players to use it.
What?! Yavin swamp is much better because you can see and use guns and much easier than Drauman kaas swamp. But if Jedi Outcast would've thrown some Dianoga's in that level I would have screamed and freaked out.
dromund kass has a huge city on it with milions of people living their so this world isnt all swamp it was the sith capital if this gmae fallows legends so their should be a large city
I actually just did it, though it took me an hour's worth of attempts. I took her back into the tunnel and she kept force jumping and banging her head on the ceiling. I had also forgotten that Z is an alternative attack and it seemed to do more damage. But damn that was frustrating 🤦🏽♀️
Processor: AMD A8-5500 with Radeon HD graphics (3.20GHz, Quad Core) RAM: 6GB OS: Windows 8.1, 64-bit Not the best out there, but hey, it gets the job done just fine. =)
This level sucks. The issue I had even back then was everything in DF2 looks so damn empty. It just seems to me the game needed more work. I dont know why but DF1 works with the engine way better and looks so much richer.
Dark Mara is also actually a part of Maras own background story, she was actually a former imperial agent, who was actually tasked by Palpatine to kill Luke Skywalker, but when she had her chance, Luke redeemed her and they fell in love and were married and had a son. So that's nice.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid. Of course they fall in love and have kids AND she is also a force user now.
I just thought it was the planet creating a projection of Mara's Dark Side.
Aside from Jacen Solo and of course her son Ben, she is absolutely my favorite character in "Legends."

I don't why, but I find Dark "self" battles to be cool. Just something about conquering yourself.
Oh I agree. How could you not? They definitely offer something new to the gameplay.
Agreed.

Oh man, so many memories from JK/MoTS! I call the creepy statues at the rose garden at my university Sith Statues after this game!

Hey LightningBoltForever! I've never played these games before and I'm enjoying them very much.

The Sith temple catacombs was perhaps the most difficult level for me, it was just so confusing.
It's the hardest level in the game, for sure. The sheer number of enemies is enough to make you lose patience with it fast. The puzzles, while there are a lot of 'em, are pretty cool I think, though.
