@@ReWildYourSoul offt that is a talent! Have you tried a hand at making shakuhachi too? And what is your prefered flute for accompanying your prefered hardpan?
@@Whiskey0880 I tend to like pairings with higher tunings, as the ravs and handpans are often quite low in comparison. That way it is not washed out in the mix. Pocket- mid size flutes are perfect!
Beautiful playing! I have been looking at the b celtic, b celtic double ding and the kurd. They are very similar notes (an additional a2 or g3) and was hoping to get your opinion. How much does the extra note with the double ding add? How would describe the differences between the drums... does it effect the play of the drum?
For me personally, I would get the B kurd. The Kurd scale has the more of a variety of notes available on it than the double ding (the second note added to that is Another A, which is already in the scale, just a Bass A) I think the kurd is a much more stable instrument as well. I have heard some people not liking the interactions on all the notes with the Double ding. That being said, it may work out perfectly for you! I really love the Kurd, at the moment, however! If you get one, feel free to use my link to their site. It is the normal price (650 so cheaper to buy direct) and tells them I sent you :) Hope that helped!
I am totally in love,(makes my heart sing) with the Gio’s handpan in EKurd. I can’t afford that yet, but am wanting to get started with a RAV vast. What scale would you recommend that might either be comparable to the E Kurd, or would go well with it?
Hi Ricky, I'm getting ready to buy one of these drums during the black friday sale and have a question. Do the B Celtic Minor and the D Celtic minor have the same interval on the notes, just in different keys, meaning a song on one will be recognized on the other but only in a different key? What keys of Native American Flute does the D celtic minor play well with? I'm guess D minor at a minimum. Is there any one key that stands out on top if I'm specifically looking for a RAV Vast that plays well with both guitar and Native American Flute? Thanks!
Hey my friend, all the B or D Celtic/ Kurd scales will match well with the native flute. They are all just pentatonic scale, so perfectly fit to companion flute playing! Hope you get your quickly! 🙏
I love this scale, similar to the G Pygmy that I have and still learning to play. I have no musical background and find these uploads so helpful. Have you uploaded one like this for the G Pygmy? I am a subscriber. Thank you for all your effort!

So I played a didge I made to your improv . And it's magical. Wish we could jam together . Would be an experience . Haha let me know if you'd be open minded to that .
first of all i want to say that this is very good informative video. nice presentetion of the drum. but i want to ask if this can also be used as therapeutic drum? for sound therapy and things like this? not to play your fav song but for more relaxing meditative situations. which tone would you reccomend?
Hey! Completely depends on the sound you are looking for. The sound healing workshops I facilitate usually include lower scales, simply because of the resonance and it’s transference ability. Clearly these cannot be used in the same way as tuning forks or singing bowls, for diagnostics. However, in a setting where a client or multiple ones are laying down for an alignment, the instrument can be rolled on its side and played with a mallet. This gives you a bit more room for movement and takes away the finger noise. E low Pygmy is their lowest scale and what I would chose, along with the G Pygmy. However, it is all about why you connect with! I recommend checking out my reviews on their personal page and my own page, as this is many many years old now. Enjoy! Ricky
This is the key I am planning to purchase but I was surprised when you played the center root note, and it was higher than the other two notes at the bottom. Why is this? I see in all the other keys I have researched that the center note is the deepest note.
Hey there! The center note is the lowest of all the notes. It is a B2. If your using a tuner, it is likely picking up the octave (b3) or the fifth/other partials tuned into it. When you strike above the tongue in the center, it brings out the octave, so you are likely picking up on that! They all follow the same patter of ascending from low to high. Center bottom, left, right etc all the way to the upper note. Hope that helps!
I love your style of music, I had to have watched this video and many of your other videos a hundred times. I loved it so much I used your discount code and bought a Celtic B Rav Vast. What song did you play in this video? I would love to learn to play it, do you offer sheet music or do you only do online classes. I would be very interested in getting any or all of your compositions that can be played on the B Celtic scale.
Glad you enjoyed it! I offer online classes via zoom. The format for those is usually using the tabbed version of the instrument, just for ease of playing. Feel free to get in touch via my website or email. :)
Exactly! The double ding just takes a note already in the scale, and puts it as a bass note on the center. It actually has the same notes as this scale, just doubles up on one. Definitely recommend this over the double ding though 🎶🙏
@@ReWildYourSoul Ohhh, okay I understand now! Thank you. It's been tricky trying to find which one I would get but I think I've narrowed it down to this one, G pygmy or the B kurd! 😄 Now I'm just waiting until I can afford it ahaha

Hi there! I have fallen in love with the sound of these drums, and would love to order one for Christmas! I think Santa can bring moms gifts too! And the combination of it with your flute, the Native American sounds speak to me and connects me to my inner self! But I need some advice! There are so many options for drums and your flutes too (I had to check your Etsy shop and loved it!), which one do you suggest for a beginner, a good combo? Thank you for sharing your talent, look forward to owning some fun instruments and learning from you!
I believe I would buy the Celtic Minor D and another one that has the Notes B and all sharp notes. So I have one for Celtic Scale and another, that as an addition gives me a Cromatic Scale :-D
Can I ask your advise?? What do you think of the ravvast stand?? Would it make a big difference between playing the ravvast on your lap and on the stand?? They say that the fabric and skin affects the quality of the tone and a stand would be more ideal, but I don't know how reliable it is. The cost of a stand is so expensive too. Does the difference in the sound quality differ very much from playing it on the lap with skin/fabric in contact with the vast as compared to it being supported by a stand?
I usually use a snare drum stand if i need to hold it up. I do prefer my lap, most of the time! The sound quality will not be changed, as long as you are not puting directly onto a hard surface!
All my music is original :) I offer private and group lessons, so would be happy to teach you! I also have my music on bandcamp and a new album coming out soon!
Hey my friend. The only difference is that the double ding has an extra bass note (an A). Between the two, I would recommend the normal B Celtic if you are just starting out. The double is amazing, but really just gives you another octave if a note you already have in a standard one. In short, same scales, but one different bass note.
@@ReWildYourSoul thank you for the quick reply! I intend to play with some background music (bass and drums from Abelton or some other production software) or sometimes play with a Cajon or Electronic Drum Kit ! Which scale is most suited for Playing EDM or Chillstep music ?
Hey my friend, the fundamental is indeed a B, however, where these are tuned with 6-7 notes on each tongue, there are higher octaves and 5ths ringing as well. You are likely picking up on the F# because it the 5th of the B note. Each tongue is full sounding because it is like playing a triad or chord, so particular overtones are more prominent on notes, if there is sympathetic coupling with the other octave notes present in the scale. In short, fundamental is B, but you are hearing the F# there as well. Hope that helps!
To be clear it would not necessarily be "your information" as the Rav Vast website confirms what you say. However that still does not explain the extremely high F# overtone I am hearing and would just like to know before purchasing. Great videos by the way, they've been great at helping me decide which one I like. I'll probably go with the B Double ding first as it seems to have the most bass in the B2 note. Let me know your opinion on which one has the most bass and sustain in the B2 note if you possibly could, thanks!
Another rav scale? Or are you talking about on other instruments? It can be played in a B or F# pentatonic minor scale on guitar and the Rav scales that match well are B Kurd, B rus, D major, B Celtic double ding, and a bit of Onoleo. Hope that helps!
Hey! D Major and D celtic would work well. Also, the B celtic would mostly fit with a D didge. Hope that helps! If you get one, feel free to use my buying link in the description to the Rav Site!

Love the rav drum. would love to buy one some day.
They are lovely instruments! I am sure you would love them!
I can listen to this instrument till the end of time. Very cool!
Kodjo, thanks so much!
Infectious sounds and I don’t mind saying your playing and demeanor are a perfect match. Thank you for the video. Only question is that I cannot find B Celtic -only B Celtic minor. Are they the same? Thanks again good sir !!
Yes! They are the same scale! I just shortened it. Will fix it for clarity. Thanks my friend. I appreciate your kind words. it is a B celtic minor Rav Vast 2. Stay well y friend!
Really cool. Do you know how the B Celtic compares to the B Celtic Double ding?
I'd like to know too. I plan on buying the double ding. I fell in love with RAV's after seeing moon hawk open one not long ago on his channel. :)
I was wondering that too. I'm still new to all of this but I figured the double was the same with an extra note? I'm not sure yet.
Hey there! Could you please do a review and how to play video on the D Celtic Minor rav drum please?
I swear ! this is so healing !
Good! That's the objective!
Love this!
Thank you brother! Check out some of my music as well 🎶🙏 ruclips.net/video/o2BFaZst0XA/видео.html
Hello friend thank you for this beautiful song, it is magnificent for the soul, is it possible to do a tutorial for this piece? I have the same scale and would love to learn it. Blessings to you!
Thank you for this. It was beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Chorus progression at 2:26 sound lush
Thanks Chris!
That is insanely amazing
Glad you think so :) Check out my newer work as well!
@@ReWildYourSoul Always BRO,
Just beautiful. I love the scale. What do you think of the Mystic B scale?
Namaste fellow dweller. It is very recently that I have stumbled over the world of these beautiful instruments. And as my first thing to ever learn to play, I have chosen a tank drum. What are the few things that I should take care of while buying one and how should I go about while learning to play it? Thank you in advance. Love and power :)
This is the video that (besides hearing it on their website) convinced me to put a down payment on the B celtic minor RAV.
And that was absolutley right decision
what drum would go best with a celtic d minor?
Good job teaching!
Thanks buddy! This is from years ago, so I have a ton of newer material now, in higher quality, if you wish to check it out! If you find yourself in need of 1:1 lessons, be in touch!
@@ReWildYourSoul I don't own such an instrument however I am both a teacher and a musician so I def appreciate what you did on each level. One of my friends just got a few ravs and has been jamming on them. Maybe one day I'll invest. I'm thinking of getting a kalimba actually lol.
@@gripken08 As a musician, I think you could do amazing things with it brother. I think there need to be more songwritters and string instrument players to join this percussion dominated world of ravs and handpans. Kalimbas are amazing as well! Stay well buddy!
Awesome mate, really nice video!
Thanks so much!
VERY HELPFUL!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
Been thinking about buying one in D Major. I’ve got one priced at $800 from the company that makes the popular ones with the gold ring around it. Do you think that’s too high of a price for one? Thanks for the video and any info.
Hey there! That’s a comment price for then right now. Their direct site is the best place to grab them. My discount code is REWILD if you go that route. US direct site is vastdrum.com
What a fantastic instrument! Great review buddy. Do you think this would go well with a shakuhachi?
Flutes and Ravs are an AMAZING combo! As long as the shakuhachi is in B or F# , it will work with the scale 🙏🎶
@@ReWildYourSoul ahhh thanks for the info! I've been trying to think what other instrument would be good to accompany a shakuhachi, and these drums would be awesome. Have you seen those american indian cedar double drone flutes? One of those would be excellent with the RAV drum. What a stunning sound they make.
@@Whiskey0880 yes! I make flutes, so have created quite a few of those. Though I have not paired them with the Rav or Handpan. Good idea! 🙏🎶
FLUTE AND HANDPAN IS DOPE
Agreed!
I would definitely go for the B kurd, same scale just shifted slightly lower!
Beautiful and inspiring!
Much appreciate! :)
hy. do you sell those flutes? would love to have one. :)
I love this scale, similar to the G Pygmy that I have and still learning to play. I have no musical background and find these uploads so helpful. Have you uploaded one like this for the G Pygmy? I am a subscriber. Thank you for all your effort!
Hey my friend! Yes I believe I have on on the Rav Vast official channel as well! Will take a look for you! If you are ever interested i lessons, be in touch! Would love to add you to my weekly 1:1 lesson rotation 🎶🔑
So I played a didge I made to your improv . And it's magical. Wish we could jam together . Would be an experience . Haha let me know if you'd be open minded to that .
Same here brother! I would be down! Get in touch via social media and we can chat about it!
first of all i want to say that this is very good informative video. nice presentetion of the drum.
but i want to ask if this can also be used as therapeutic drum? for sound therapy and things like this? not to play your fav song but for more relaxing meditative situations. which tone would you reccomend?
Enjoy!
Ricky
Awesome 👏
Thanks 🤗 A classic video!
I want to learn it.
Feel free to check out my website if you are interesting lessons Rewildyoursoulmusic.com
Hi there, where can I buy that flute?? What it is called, if I want to search on online store, and what scale was it on?
Beautiful!!! 💖🙏✨
How can I get one of your flutes in B or pentonic?
How i can transpose a song if i don.t have note F and B?
I have pentatonic C major
C3 D4 E4 G4 A4 C5 D5 E5 and G5
That may be tricky, will take a look ;)
What do you have the double ring or single. Thanks!
Wow 🤩
🎶🙏🔑 if you like this, check out my more recent music! There is tons of it since the 6 years ago I posted this! Thanks for listening my friend!

Hi rewindyoursoul can you please email me the Notation of your whole song, I would be highly obliged. Thanks.

hi, very curious instrument, first time I see it, how is it on the reverse side? /; It must have a very complex elaboration, it's great
Hi! It is a great instrument. The back looks very much like the front, but without the tongues cut in it! Glad you like it!
That was beautiful. Thank you!
Hi there! Is this the same as the B Celtic Double Ding with just one less note?
Nice video. Just a tip. Please get yourself a lapel mic with a Zoom recorder or condenser pointing closer to you, i need to crank full vol and I still cant you talking.
Haha you may want to check the date on this one, this is from many years ago. I have all the right equipment since then and hundreds of Handpan Rav reviews, performances and video experience now. 🙏
My fav scale + key!
Agreed!
Amazing playing brother.
Thanks my friend! Hope you are having an excellent day!
Thank you for sharing your talent, look forward to owning some fun instruments and learning from you!
beautiful.. so calming..
Yep thats the one i chose and i love it! Fantastic. :)
This is my favorite pan drum 💜
I love it too :)
Sick homie!
Thanks dude!
Awesome! Does this still remain your fav scale? Thanks man
Yes, likely this and the G pygmy!
Where to buy
goo.gl/a2ehKt This is the link to their page for my site :)
Does the pentatonic scale fact apply to the double ding too?
Absolutely. The extra note is a Bass A, which is already in the scale ! Just adds a bass note of the higher A3 . So it is the exactly same scale :)
ReWildYourSoul Thank you very much!😁
Curious do you sell your flutes available to match it anywhere?
I do! Check my rewildyoursoul etsy shop :)
Hi,, I need ur help , I want to buy one , but I have not what ever music background ,,, plz help
Glad you found help ;)
Fantastic sound
Lovely triads!
I believe I would buy the Celtic Minor D and another one that has the Notes B and all sharp notes. So I have one for Celtic Scale and another, that as an addition gives me a Cromatic Scale :-D
That, sounds like a fantastic idea!
Heya!
Who crafted the instrument? :)
rav vast is a company
What song is that? Where do you find songs for this instrument? Ty
All my music is original :) I offer private and group lessons, so would be happy to teach you! I also have my music on bandcamp and a new album coming out soon!
I like that feeling
I am confused between B Celtic and B Celtic Double Ding ! can you help ?
Hey my friend. The only difference is that the double ding has an extra bass note (an A). Between the two, I would recommend the normal B Celtic if you are just starting out. The double is amazing, but really just gives you another octave if a note you already have in a standard one. In short, same scales, but one different bass note.
@@ReWildYourSoul thank you for the quick reply!
I intend to play with some background music (bass and drums from Abelton or some other production software) or sometimes play with a Cajon or Electronic Drum Kit !
Which scale is most suited for Playing EDM or Chillstep music ?
Something like what "Gioli and Assia" play !
Production music with Handpan ! What scale is good to do that job !?
The center note sounds like an F# not a B. Is this something I'm hearing wrong through the speaker or is your information incorrect?
SOOOOO beautiful!
Thank you!!
Is there a scale that can be played with the b Celtic minor?
Another rav scale? Or are you talking about on other instruments? It can be played in a B or F# pentatonic minor scale on guitar and the Rav scales that match well are B Kurd, B rus, D major, B Celtic double ding, and a bit of Onoleo. Hope that helps!
I have a D Didgeridoo. Which scale would your recommend?
Hey! D Major and D celtic would work well. Also, the B celtic would mostly fit with a D didge. Hope that helps! If you get one, feel free to use my buying link in the description to the Rav Site!
I have a Vast 2 in Rus B. I am ready to order another Vast and I want it to compliment the Rus B that I already have. I'm not that well versed on scales. Do you have any suggestions on which scale would best compliment that Rus B? Thank You!
terracanum b Celtic goes well with it, as well as d major! Hope that helps!
I'm torn between this one and the G Pygmy ! What are your thoughts? As soon as I decide I'm ordering but I keep going back and forth lol
Same for me !
I am absolutely in love with my G Pygmy!!!! That said, I’m just about to buy the BCeltic minor for my son.
Beautiful!
how can we buy one of your b flutes!
You can check them out on my etsy shop in the youtube page or just search Rewildyoursoul on etsy!
Hei mannn where did you find this? Im searching for one!
