Seeing the poor animal suffer & cry out like that through 5:34 to 6:20, would just make you wanna shed tears because it's so heart breaking.

In my personal opinion, the best Godzilla movie ever...even if it's not Godzilla. The movie had a healthy dose of American action; machine guns, attack choppers, tanks, jet fighters, submarine chases. It was freaking epic.

Um....kotm? Gvk? Final wars? There's other godzilla movies from past and present that have much more action (and story and accurate portrayal of godzilla) than this movie does. If it's the only godzilla movie you like then you haven't watched that many, let alone the current American godzilla films

He also took a chunk of the roadway with him so it was between his lower jaw and the taxi, which meant he wasn't able to exert his full biting force on it.
@@samalvey8168 I’m not really talking just the biting part. There’s a lot of crashing, spinning, hard turning, jumping, and landing just in this scene alone, normal car wouldn’t be able to take even some portion of that abuse let alone some random taxi car lol.

I don't think car manufacturers had to worry about crumple zones back then. Also, their reputation for reliable vehicles was far more important than it is today.
I've always liked this Godzilla because despite being smaller than the average Godzilla its very nimble and fast therefore still quite terrifying as its counterparts
Hight-wise he’s about the height of the Showa and Millennium G’s (except Final Wars). Thes a comic where Zilla fights the true Godzilla and he puts up a good fight…considerably faster and more maneuverable, plus can dig at high speeds.

Not necessarily, being fast only gets you so far in terms of fear. This thing is scary because of it's rapid reproduction abilities. Other than that, godzilla is still many times more intimidating. One is a walking nuke/force of nature, the other is an animal who just makes kids really fast
Ah the cab ride from hell! Nick and his friends desperately lead an angry Godzilla from Madison Square Garden, all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. And he chases them every step of the way!

@@mrnobody5309 the term you're looking for is "grounded" not realistic when godzilla and kong aren't realistic creatures in the first place. MOST godzilla movies have a fantastical setting anyway and not the grounded setting some movies have

Far from the best but this is the first godzilla movie I saw as a kid and now 21 and still holds a special place
after 25 years its still a fun movie to watch, the cgi didnt hold up that well but at least it had everything a godzilla movie needed to have.
Not really as godzilla movies still need a proper story and writing which this movie had none of and didn't have a proper godzilla as a bonus. Godzilla movies can be dumb fun at times, sure but at least have godzilla be accurate to how he looks and acts
When I saw this movie in the theather and I was a teenager I cheered when those missiles hit him (and I'm not even American). Now that I'm a few decades old I feel a bit sorry for the animal.

This Godzilla was an abomination. It was a cool movie and a cool animal but it wasn't Godzilla. Godzilla isn't an animal, it is a monster. This one looked like a gigantic jurassic park T-Rex. I am glad hollywood now makes Godzillas that look like the original 1950s era Japanese Godzilla.

I kind of love this version of Godzilla. Yes, hes leaner. Yes, hes more like a giant lizard. No, he does not have his atomic breath. But its still Godzilla to me. He still has that roar.
And like Peter Jackson's King Kong, this Godzilla made me cry when he died.
Having the roar doesn't mean much, godzilla is suppose to leave destruction behind akin to a nuke or a natural disaster which this godzilla doesn't do. He's suppose to be immune to conventional weaponry and have powers. Zilla jr was EVERYTHING this godzilla wasn't in the animated series

When i watched this movie as a kid, i thought Zilla (Which i use to call it Godzilla before learning about the true Godzilla) is just a mindless monster who hunted a one human group for food or just random killing 😅
But as i grew up, i understand now that the Zilla was chasing them to avenge his dead hatchlings which he knew they killed them. So Zilla isn't just a giant monster beast, he's also very intelligent.
i wonder how differently this movie would have ended if Godzilla had gone over that last arch on the bridge, like he did with the others, instead of underneath it ?

@@Kaiju-bm4ts 500 tonnes but Zilla was running and jumping on it so you can basically double that! Also, a structure only needs to be weakened for a collapse to be possible. Bad taste probably, but look at the WTC as an example......and yes, I know this was a just a movie and the latter was a real world tragedy.
@@andycross9840 it's the same amount of weight applied regardless if zilla is running or jumping. Besides realistically the Brooklyn Bridge can withstand 500 tons when it's 14,680 tons in weight and can hold 18,700 short tons. That's MANY times heavier than zilla meanwhile zilla Jr would cause the bridge to collapse just by stepping on it since he's 60,000 tons which is even heavier than his father and the bridge combined

Before the cab chase, Godzilla had no desire to attack people, he just wanted to eat tons of fish! He never came to NYC to attack and kill anyone like when the second time he arrived, he didn’t even try to attack nick when he was taking the picture of him! When the military started firing at him, Godzilla was like, “Hey, Hey, Hey! Wait a minute! I did not come here to attack anyone, why are you attacking and firing at me? I just came here to eat fish, not attacking and mauling people for no reasons, I know I cannot help it when I kept destroying your city and i didn’t mean to, it’s my big size doing it!
