A bit of trivia: this film has three cast members from The Simpsons in it. Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns, Kent Brockman) plays Charles, Audrey's boss, Hank Azaria (Moe Szyslak, Comic Book Guy) plays Animal, and Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz) plays the lady that sees Godzilla outside the window.
Growing up my dad always watched the old toho Godzilla films. But this movie was my first introduction to the king of the monsters. And even if it isn’t the greatest, this movie holds such a dear loving spot in my heart man.
I grew up watching the "original" Godzilla movies as a kid, and really loved them. Most of them are unwatchable to me personally these days. This one however, is one I still watch 25 years later. Thanks for reacting to this.
16:35 : The movie Cloverfield (2008) would fit that description perfectly. It has a kaiju like monster rampaging through N-Y all filmed in fan footage style...
One of my earliest memories of being moved by a film was this movie. I was around six years old, crying my eyes out because the nasty humans killed the nice giant lizard. I was inconsolable, haha! I still enjoy watching this film; always a complete nostalgia trip. Thank you for sharing your first experience of Roland Emmerich's much-maligned Godzilla. It isn't as terrible as some people make out, but most people (including me) agree with you that the human element of the story is quite weak and lessens the experience of Godzilla the creature. My older brother used to have a figurine of the Godzilla from this movie which made the awesome roar noise when you pressed a certain ridge on its spine. Would also like to say that I love your energy - I found you through your Speed reaction (adore that film) and I'm so glad I did! You both make me happy whenever I watch one of your videos. Keep being you, Ari and Denise :D
I actually liked this Godzilla when I was little, I have no idea this movie is controversial to the fans, but I think it's because I liked the main actor and actress. The strongest predator for bitforce is the seawater Crocodile, once they grab you they won't let go. I think it's scary that something like Godzilla size animal can actually exist in the ocean. 😨💀. PS The old man did live, they just cut out that scene where he jumped out the way.
That's so so awesome you enjoyed the movie!! It's really quite simple - a movie is made for people to enjoy, and if it works for those that like it, that's what matters! Also yayyy so glad that man survived, you just made our day!
@@jamesstutz6907 Japan didn't create the Godzilla movies, a Japanese company called Toho did. Also, they have. The last Godzilla movie to feature a guy in a suit was Final Wars. Both Shin Godzilla and Minus One have CG monsters. There are 3 anime movies that are fully 3D CG as well.
@@jamesstutz6907 Actually certain scenes were using suitmation (the man in the suit method) and even some moments with a hand puppet. Alot of special effects were still practical in this movie which is still cool to see.
I was so hyped as a kid to see this film, and as a kid, it was definitely entertaining. But this film had the largest impact on me because of the soundtrack. It was the first time I heard Jimmy Page, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Green Day, all of whom influenced me as a guitarist, which I now do for a living.
I personally love this Godzilla film. It's not the best, but I would never say it's the worst entry. A lot of people actually compared this film to the Lost World, the second Jurassic Park film. I mean, yeah, it had it's issues, but most films do. However, my all-time-favorite Godzilla is the Japanese made Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla from 2002. It's easily one of the best Godzilla films that I've ever seen. If you guys decide to give it a watch, you won't be disappointed.
I'd never heard/realized the comparisons between this and Jurassic Park, but now that it's pointed out it's impossible for me not to see it now 😂. Considering this released 5 years after Jurassic Park and 1 after the sequel, I would bet any similarities are pretty intentional.
I was travelling to Vietnam via Malaysia when this film was released, and there was all this promotion for it. I really loved the film btw, because at the time, there wasn't really many big budget Hollywood monster movies, with decent SFX quality, least of all about Godzilla. The Jamiroquai song "Deeper Underground" also sold it for me.
"I didn't want to make a traditional Godzilla. I wanted nothing to do with it. We forgot everything about the original Godzilla." - Roland Emmerich, director of 'Godzilla (1998)'
That is like...the number one thing you DON'T do with an adaptation. Because, fans of the real Godzilla movies would come to see this. And when you remove it from the source material THIS much, you end up alienating your audience.
Well he is a genius. Look at the movie, it wasn't horrible, it was a good movie. Great cinematic, great shot, Nick alone was a great character, and how all of his journey through that film was not about a heroic act but about two thriving species. But I don't know if this is a Hollywood thing or just want to be creative, to make an adaptation from something and turn it to something alien. All I want to see is Ariel in reality but instead I am interpreted as racsist etc.
@@domidium "You end up alienating your audience" ...Or creating something fun like what actually happened. Created new godzilla fans from the 90s era kids, created a spin off cartoon series that was well received, AND helped benchmark future American made godzilla projects such as the Legendary Pictures Godzilla. Not every adaption has to be 100% or even half accurate to it's source material. For fucks sake the old Godzilla movies are not 100% accurate to each other lol. Each one is it's own thing, it's own version, and owns it. It was good, plain and simple and people like you just wanna be *so* damn pissy and angry instead of looking at the movie objectively which is a good movie. Also the only people back in it's initial release thast were pissy about it were just older adults who were the small percentage of western people that actually watched Toho Godzilla movies anyway. The MASS majority of lovers for this movie and Zilla as a creature came from us 90s kids. It created more of an audience than it ruined.
If you want a found footage Godzilla film I’d recommend watching cloverfield it’s definitely worth the watch I’d say and I love that you guys reacted to this I’ve never see anyone else do it but this is the film that started my love for the big lizard that has not gone away haha great reaction!
That's EXACTLY what was on my mind when he said he would love a found footage Godzilla movie, intantly i thought about Cloverfield, that film is MUST for them to watch
This film actually did have a follow-up series and makes Denise look really smart because the prediction she has of one of the Godzilla babies imprinting on Nick actually happens
Yeah, I'mma go check that one out. I agree with Metzwerg, the ones from MonsterVerse are becoming so boring at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if The New Empire flops, I guess Godzilla and Kong made their own X-Men team now. Ridiculous.
The best part of this movie is Toho used this Godzilla as one of the monsters in Final Wars where Godzilla kicks it’s ass completely in like 18 seconds.
i stand firmly behind the belief that this was a great monster movie and only got bashed because it had the godzilla name attached to it. if it was an original monster (which it basically was) with a different name it would have been much better received.
Hehe well I believe that Shogo Tomiyama(godzilla executive producer) did refer to the 97 godzilla as "Zilla" and all appearances of this version have since been as "Zilla" and not as Godzilla. I don't believe he was a big fan of his Godzilla having the same name 😂
I am proud to admit that this movie and Independance Day are the movies I can watch over and over again lol. My mom used to say, "your watching that movie again?!" lol I would be like yep lol. and it was pretty funny :). Just something about those movies that just catch you and you just watch them over and over. Even if to just fall asleep to. Great reaction and love the channel. Cheers :).
This movie did so well it spawned an animated series that follows the events after the movie. It has the same animation style as Men in Black the animated series.
@@Davemented I mean, the RoboCop films were massive successes, so that isn't really the best example, but you aren't entirely wrong. A lot of IP back then got extended media that probably shouldn't have because sometimes it was just bad. It really depended on just how successful the IP initially was. Despite performing below expectations domestically, Godzilla '98 was a profitable worldwide success, grossing nearly three times its budget. The critics were the ones who REALLY hated the film, while the fans seemed to more-or-less love it. The execs at Toho Co., Ltd. were also highly critical of Godzilla '98, even going as far as trademarking future incarnations of Godzilla '98 as "Zilla" for future appearances stating that, "Emmerich's film took the 'God' out of 'Godzilla' by portraying the character like a mere animal." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
and the only reason that "cheap" cartoon got pushed to the way-side was because pokemon and digimon exploded onto the TV scene. thus the series was cancelled and pulled from television.
I feel like a lot of people miss that the monster in this movie isn't THE Godzilla. It's named that by the sole survivor on the Japanese tanker, who naturally thought that it was. The sad irony of this movie is that they tried to use its success to spark an interest in the Japanese Godzilla movies, hence why Godzilla 2000 was shown in the US, but people were confused because it was not the same monster as in the American movie, so the interested died off near-immediately. The pop culture landscape truly was different before the internet. I like this movie, but Godzilla 1998 was truly done justice in the subsequent animated series, which featured the sole surviving baby, named Zilla Jr., who fought other giant monsters.
Glad you guys reacted to this particular Godzilla movie. So far your the only reaction channel that I gave seen post a reaction to it. Any love and enjoy your channel and look forward to all you have planned for this year.
Funny enough, Staten Island is where HEAT set up their headquarters in the animated spin-off. The new Godzilla lives close by, so there’s even more reason to avoid that place.
Being in the monsterverse, you guys should also watch Deep Rising by Stephen Summers (The Mummy). It was supposed to be a prequel to King Kong. It's a fun movie that got publicly destroyed by studio interference.
I love Deep Rising. Great actors and characters and never takes itself too serious. It's just a fun movie. When I watched it in cinema back in the day, there were only two other guests besides me. Too bad, it's great fun.
This movie actual got a sequel in the form of an animated series, at the end of the movie here was one egg left and they were able to raise it as there own and it would fight other titans
The redhead in this film was in Newsradio. I don’t think a sitcom has ever made me laugh as hard as that one. Worth picking up if you ever spot on a dvd shelf for sale. An episode or two a night is worth it. It’s a slow burn so I don’t think it’s meant for binging. It’s top tier comedy eventually.
It's actually funny cause this movie is called Godzilla but the monster was actually later renamed Zilla by Toho, because it was so drastically different shape wise from every other Godzilla. I honestly think the new name is cute
Always love seeing the Siskel and Ebert rib in this film. Also this has a great soundtrack. Wallflowers, Rage Against the Machine, Days of the New, Fuel, Foo Fighters, Silverchair.
@@vladislavivanov2334Not necessarily. If they'd called it a remake of Beast from 20,000 Fathoms nobody would have batted an eye because it matches that movie plot point for plot point. That's really what it's ripping off much more than any Godzilla movie. If it'd had that title instead of Godzilla I think it would have been received much more positively. All that needed be changed was any mention of the name Godzilla and give the monster a different roar..
@@davidsavage5630 it didn’t need to be called that and I literally see this comment all the time. All the had to do was execute the writing in a much better way than they did. This design could work. The cartoon series had the same design and same characters but stayed true to the original source material and it was great! I still love this movie, but changing the writing and direction it went into would have benefited.
My favorite line inthis movie is from the helicopter pilot after he fired 2 misses at Godzilla and they hit the Chrysler building instead. "Awe, damn... uh, that is a negative impact."
“Government Agent Guy” is also in 24, in which he plays a government agent. He’s in Supergirl, where he plays General Lane, Lois Lane’s father. Who is a top Air Force guy 🤣🤣
Komodo dragons are scary! They can swim, run pretty fast when running down prey, they can climb trees when they'r young and not only is their bite lethal but they also have freaking long claws. Fascinating but terrifying animals. Also, Denise, if you want to eat noodles every day- go for it! Noodles are delicious and there are many types so it doesn't have to get boring.
Want to know the scariest (unverified, as far as I can be regarded as a source of information) fact about Komodo dragons? They’re a case of island dwarfism, not island gigantism (fyi these phenomena are large creatures evolving into small ones after getting trapped onto an island, and small creatures evolving into large ones after getting trapped on an island respectively). Which means that for as big as they are, their ancestors are far larger.
They also have venom that keeps the blood from clotting and as much bacteria in their saliva as a septic tank. So if you don't bleed out, the infection you get is going to be horrible. Dragon is a pretty great name for them 😂.
It was also revealed recently that the Komodo Dragon has a natural/organic form of iron/metal that grows over their teeth to make them much more sharp/lethal.
I never understood all the hate this movie got. As a 90s kid, this was...and still is one of my favorite movies from that era. Seeing as that was some 20ish years ago, I cannot fully recall if this was my first experience with the entire Godzilla universe or not. I just remember really liking this movie a lot despite a lot of people hating it. Also, fun fact: there is a cartoon/anime series based off of this movie. In it, Nick ends up finding the last egg as it hatches and gets covered in the egg's fluids. The baby ends up imprinting on Nick and ends seeing him like a surrogate parent. The whole series is about Nick forming a crew to study Godzilla as well as other kaiju like monsters that start showing up around the world. The episodes usually revolve around them trying to stop someone from capturing/killing their Godzilla or trying to find ways to stop the other kaiju monsters.
I don't care what anyone says, this film is great. It's way better than the 2014 Godzilla film. I was 6 when this came out, so it was just the coolest thing ever. Had toys of this "Zilla" and the animated series that came from it was amazing! Plus, the sound of its roar is one of my favourite movie sounds ever.
@GreenFalcon926 Hard disagree. The 2014 is certainly more authentic in it's portrayal of Godzilla, but it is a painfully boring movie that barely has any Godzilla in it.
I saw this in the theater when I was 8 and it was absolutely amazing! I don't care about the haters, this movie is still epic entertainment! Edit: you guys should add Shin Godzilla to your list. It is honestly my favorite Godzilla film!
I loved this movie personally. Not as a Godzilla movie, but as a Kaiju movie. It was awesome seeing this for the first time as a kid. Thank god for the Walmart Bargain-Bin!!
I was in high school when this came out and I remember the marketing for this film was insane. It was one of the few films that even had a webpage in 98 😅
It's true, the first time I saw the trailer at the movies... Where Godzilla's giant foot comes through the roof of the museum 😳 insane. Especially on a big screen
Fun fact: There was supposed to be a sequel for this movie, explaining the unborn offspring of Zilla. But it was scrapped and turned into the animated series.
22:12 I don’t think this Godzilla actually breathes fire, I believe bc he’s so radioactive that his breath just becomes flammable so when the cars exploded it sort ignited his breath so it seems like he’s breathing fire, I could be wrong but that was always a theory of mine bc when he “breathes fire” it starts off as a burst of his breath before it actually catches fire from stuff exploding
This movie was honestly a pretty decent 90s monster/kaiju movie in general, just wasn’t Godzilla. Zilla is a perfectly fine movie monster as its own thing, and honestly I got mad affection for Zilla. Reading him in comics, especially when he’s swimming around Monster Island and the other monsters won’t let him on, but the text states that perhaps one day he will be accepted by the others…I feel that gradually Zilla will be accepted more widely as a it’s own being, rather than a poor reflection on the true King. Also side note, I feel that he would actually work much better as a reimagined Gorosaurus rather than Godzilla. Personal opinion.
Iguanazilla is entertaining enough, but it will never be the real King Of The Monsters. I also really love Matthew Broderick and Hank Azaria. They've both got iconic characters under their belts. Matthew Broderick: Inspector Gadget, Simba (adult), Ferris Bueller Hank Azaria: Moe & Apu from The Simpsons & Gargamel from the live action Smurfs movies
The thing is that those copter pilots tried to use heatseeking missiles on a cold blooded reptile while its raining and most likely very cold, theres no way they could have gotten a lock, that it their fault on this. Those pilots should have been briefed that it was a lizard.
I don't care what anyone says, I love this movie. It was a staple in my childhood. I don't consider it part of the actual "Godzilla-verse"; this one is actually called Zilla to differentiate. It's still a well-made movie. Edit to say my heart breaks for Zilla every time.
Voice actors from The Simpsons in this movie: 7:35 - That's Harry Shearer. The voices of Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy, Lenny, Principal Skinner, Kent Brockman, formerly Dr. Hibbert, and Otto Mann. 11:01 - That's Hank Azaria. The voices of Moe Szyslak, Chief Wiggum, Comic Book Guy, Snake Jailbird, Professor Frink, and formerly Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Lou, Carl Carlson, and Bumblebee Man 14:53 - That's Nancy Cartwright. The voices of Bart Simpson, Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz and Todd Flanders.
Would love more Godzillas. Old ones as well as new ones. Would love a Godzilla GMK react. One of the most beloved movies in the series. Came out in 2001.
I never realized how many cast there are from The Simpsons in this. the cameraman does a few like Apu, Wiggum, Comic book guy, Moe, Prof Frink and Dr Nick. and probably more. And then 14:38 the lass at the front plays Bart Simpson, and the guy on the phone does Kent Brokman, idk if they do any others off the top of me dome. thats the ones ive seen so far, i wonder if there's more?
This was my very first Godzilla movie, I remember watching it so much as a kid that the VHS tape wore out. I watched it again lately, many years and many "traditional" Godzilla movies later, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it still really held up for me. I enjoy Matthew Broderick, Hank Azaria, and Jean Reno as actors, and I think they all do a great job in their respective roles in the movie, though I very much agree with your initial assessment of Audrey's character! I think the visual effects hold up extremely well, especially the sequence of Zilla's first appearance in Manhattan and him roaring into the sky after their first failed attack. And while the writing could have been better, I feel it was also pretty damn good - I enjoyed the portrayal of a kaiju as basically a massive animal operating on instinct, and the plot point of the nest was quite interesting indeed to me. From one Godzilla fan to another, this was an excellent reaction to a movie that holds a special place in my heart, and I'm very much looking forward to watching any current and future reactions you have to kaiju movies and more besides. Keep up the great work!
I love that this movie twists the knife both with the infant godzillas and the death of the beast itself. Like, "sorry, you don't get to feel good about this"
Godzilla Minus One is the one you should be watching when it is available. Not only is it the best Godzilla film ever made but is absolutely fantastic even without the Godzilla moments. It will be a crime if it doesn't get an Oscar nomination.
I dont care if these movie is hated I still love it, also the ending is well more explored in a expande universe in the animated series with the same name
It wa sonly hated by a small percentage of western godzilla fans, us 90s kids saw it and loved it and grew up still loving this version of him now renamed Zilla as his own monster instead of Goji.
I loved this movie as a kid. I used to watch the cartoon on WB after the movie too. Had the robotic toys with the remote and everything. It wasnt as well received by adults but it holds a nostalgic place in my heart
38:24 Her best line in the movie. 39:30 Yeah, a running joke in the movie is that all the French guys are named Jean-something. All in all it was a fun movie. I remember seeing it in the theater when it came out. For 1998 the CGI of Godzilla running through the canyons of the NYC skyscrapers was tons of fun.
This right there is my favourite guilty pleasure movie i know it's not a good movie but way better than ppl say it is. I think the mistake was too make it part of the godzilla franchise if it had been it's on monster movie with another name ppl would probably not hate it that much

Haha yesss, we gotta check that out for sure!!
Wargames as well was awesome for it's time and an incredibly poignant message
To your point, I fr wouldn’t watch when Zilla dies on the Brooklyn bridge. He was just a giant lizard doing giant lizard things lol
At least it is not a person in a suit. Why can't Japan do something like this use a cg type monster and not use a person in a suit.
I think a trailer focused on that scene and showed him jumping off the side as well.
@@jamesstutz6907
Japan didn't create the Godzilla movies, a Japanese company called Toho did.
The animated cartoon sequel we got for this film was actually dope! The animated sequel series was so much fun to watch as a kid.
Which one did you think was the worse entry? Thank you for the suggestion 😄
Godzilla's revenge is so much worse than this.
I'd never heard/realized the comparisons between this and Jurassic Park, but now that it's pointed out it's impossible for me not to see it now 😂. Considering this released 5 years after Jurassic Park and 1 after the sequel, I would bet any similarities are pretty intentional.
@@TabathaTMartin This movie is a close 2nd for worst
I cried at the end of this movie when I was 8
Looking back at this movie though, yeeaaah.... It was rough.
Emmerich had the right idea!
@@RinNuna-ho4nkthe animated show was top tier
@@domidium
"You end up alienating your audience" ...Or creating something fun like what actually happened.
The OG "Cloverfield" movie is a must! 😊

The bombing in this movie was a WWII reference of the atomic bomb testing in Bikini Atoll
That was a hydrogen bomb, not an atomic bomb. And that testing was in the 1950s, well after WWII.
@@filthycasual8187 post WWII pretty much
Those were actual footage of the Castle Operations. The Hydrogen bomb tests from the 50s

Godzilla Minus One is brilliant too... a really gripping story.
much better than the hollywood godzillas from monsterverse...
Yeah, I'mma go check that one out. I agree with Metzwerg, the ones from MonsterVerse are becoming so boring at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if The New Empire flops, I guess Godzilla and Kong made their own X-Men team now. Ridiculous.
@@Sandlund93 typical monsterverse hater. Also Minus One only has one film while Legendary is still going on and making more money
@@harristiapo8046 Yeah, it's all about money and it shows. I just don't get why people pay for it, that's all.
Unfortunately true. But I still love it as a godzilla movie.
Unfortunately true. But I still love it as a godzilla movie.
Good point
Some kind of iguana, actually. There is a mutated komodo dragon in the animated serie that is a sequel to the film though.
Cheers :).
I remember this movie and the animated series spin-off of it!
Watched this last week. It hasn’t aged well but it came out at a great time for movies so I don’t really mind the movie. It’s like a little hug.
As reactors, you must appreciate the mayor and his PR guy being Siskel and Ebert, the OG movie critics.
This movie did so well it spawned an animated series that follows the events after the movie. It has the same animation style as Men in Black the animated series.
Getting an animated series meant nothing back then, they made cartoons of everything. ROBOCOP got a Saturday morning cartoon.
@@LIGHTNING132YTGwhile I got nothing against the film the director was the wrong choice to make a movie like this
@@animezilla4486I won't disagree. That very likely may have been the case.
and the only reason that "cheap" cartoon got pushed to the way-side was because pokemon and digimon exploded onto the TV scene. thus the series was cancelled and pulled from television.
I don’t know if just wasn’t that popular or it maybe it was controversial to some viewers and or critics as far as Godzilla movies go. Any love and enjoy your channel and look forward to all you have planned for this year.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it means the world to us!!
"Go to Staten Island or something " Spoken like a true New Yorker. It's definitely one of places that wouldn't be missed much
Funny enough, Staten Island is where HEAT set up their headquarters in the animated spin-off.
Deep Rising is awesome! R.I.P. Treat Williams.
Oh hell yeah it was supposed to be prequel to king Kong
Different monsterverses.same universe name but different universes.
Found Footage + Godzilla/Kaiju = Cloverfield
you two are among the top reactors of my fav list. i love you guys 😁
And one of the best casts ever assembled for a show. RIP Phil Hartman.
My dad watches that on Roku
It's actually funny cause this movie is called Godzilla but the monster was actually later renamed Zilla by Toho, because it was so drastically different shape wise from every other Godzilla. I honestly think the new name is cute
You said you’d like a found footage Godzilla movie.
It’s called Cloverfield… well it’s as close as you’re gonna get.
Always love seeing the Siskel and Ebert rib in this film. Also this has a great soundtrack. Wallflowers, Rage Against the Machine, Days of the New, Fuel, Foo Fighters, Silverchair.
The biggest problem with this film, is that they called it Godzilla.
If they hadn't done that, it might have worked. :)
Nahh it would have worked given how the cartoon went.
Then this movie would be blamed for ripping Of Godzilla without giving a credit
@@vladislavivanov2334Not necessarily. If they'd called it a remake of Beast from 20,000 Fathoms nobody would have batted an eye because it matches that movie plot point for plot point. That's really what it's ripping off much more than any Godzilla movie. If it'd had that title instead of Godzilla I think it would have been received much more positively. All that needed be changed was any mention of the name Godzilla and give the monster a different roar..
That ain't the only problem with this movie. It has a cast full of stupid characters that help drag it down even more.
If you want a found footage “Godzilla” type movie, the closest we have is cloverfield, which isn’t that great, but worth watching at least once.
“Government Agent Guy” is also in 24, in which he plays a government agent. He’s in Supergirl, where he plays General Lane, Lois Lane’s father. Who is a top Air Force guy 🤣🤣
he was in The Crazies too 😅 which is a great remake btw
Komodo dragons are scary! They can swim, run pretty fast when running down prey, they can climb trees when they'r young and not only is their bite lethal but they also have freaking long claws. Fascinating but terrifying animals. Also, Denise, if you want to eat noodles every day- go for it! Noodles are delicious and there are many types so it doesn't have to get boring.
I choose pizza for the exact same reason.
They missed a trick making Zilla a mutated iguana instead of a Komodo dragon. That would have actually been cool.
Better than the 2014? Not a effing chance. You may prefer it, but this isn't even remotely as well made as the 2014 version.
Watched this movie a lot as a kid and I have it on dvd.

I was actually thinking about that when they said it... but I said "Chernobyl.... no Cloverfield."
This was my very first Godzilla movie I saw as a kid when it first came out so this movie has a special place in my heart
This is gonna an incredible journey. I can’t wait 🤩🤩
Can’t wait to check out the rest of these!
Fun fact: There was supposed to be a sequel for this movie, explaining the unborn offspring of Zilla. But it was scrapped and turned into the animated series.
I loved this movie growing up
22:12 I don’t think this Godzilla actually breathes fire, I believe bc he’s so radioactive that his breath just becomes flammable so when the cars exploded it sort ignited his breath so it seems like he’s breathing fire, I could be wrong but that was always a theory of mine bc when he “breathes fire” it starts off as a burst of his breath before it actually catches fire from stuff exploding
Honest review. You said what you liked and what you didn't like. Great reaction you two. Love your channel.
Iguanazilla is entertaining enough, but it will never be the real King Of The Monsters. I also really love Matthew Broderick and Hank Azaria. They've both got iconic characters under their belts.
Matthew Broderick: Inspector Gadget, Simba (adult), Ferris Bueller
Hank Azaria: Moe & Apu from The Simpsons & Gargamel from the live action Smurfs movies

And that's awesome, we're so glad you enjoyed it!! That's what matters!
The best thing about this movie was the Taco Bell advertising when they were promoting it. "I think I need a bigger box".
I loved this Godzilla movie just because it felt more like Jurassic park with just one giant lizard
My sweet childhood nostalgia! This is the BEST Godzilla movie EVER made!!!
@Classic_Galactica Yeah, Monsterverse Zilla is no Godzilla, and it's nothing compared to TriStar Godzilla!
Who else remembers the Godzilla cartoon series that was aired on WB kids after this?
Used to watch that religiously
I dont care if these movie is hated I still love it, also the ending is well more explored in a expande universe in the animated series with the same name
It wa sonly hated by a small percentage of western godzilla fans, us 90s kids saw it and loved it and grew up still loving this version of him now renamed Zilla as his own monster instead of Goji.
