She's not magic, and she did wreck her voice from personal choices in life. But I still love this music and her. She's on tour right now with Billy Joel, and I can't wait to go to the concert.
HUGE Stevie Nicks fan here. Been a fan since the first time I heard Stevie's voice on the Buckingham Nicks album back in 1973. After 47 years of religiously listening to Stevie and Fleetwood Mac, you've given me a whole new refreshing appreciation and love for her music and more importantly, her voice. That was not only enlightening but really fun to watch. Thank you! Would love to hear what you think of her younger (& higher) voice singing Landslide from 1975.
This recording is a song all its own. Stevie's voice is so different than it was when they first recorded this that it doesn't even feel like the same song. I got to see her perform this in Dublin last year. Every phone was away, every couple was hugging, it was a beautiful moment. But even that felt different from listening to this recording. This is without exception the greatest musical recording I have ever heard in my life. This is the song that taught me how good a live performance can be. This is a feeling no one can ever take away from you.
I love that you got weepy hearing Stevie sing this song. I cry every time I hear her sing it. Her voice and lyrics do something to my soul. She's magical.
Stevie is hands down my favorite artist - her voice and music are just so enthralling. I also really enjoyed your reaction to this song and glad that her music brings you warmth.
Love Stevie nicks ...has a Unique voice amazing reaction thank you for your reactions and for keeping us entertained at home and for helping us to deal with this
@@BamaMatters11 Stevie has said in interviews that this song was written about Lindsey, with some parts for her business manager father. There were lots of changes going on at that time with many repercussions for her life and career and the song reflects that. It's not as simple as one person or event, it deals with a wild ride of a life, and particularly those who impacted it the most.
"Well I been afraid of changin' cuz I built my life around you" Hardly a better lyric ever written. I couldn't imagine life without my wife. I'd be lost.
A beautiful moment between Stevie and Lindsey who have had their beautiful moments and very rocky moments over the decades. I saw an interview where Stevie said she wrote this before Fleetwood Mac when she and Lindsey were the duo Buckingham Nicks and they had been dropped from their record label. She was visiting Colorado contemplating going back to study at San Jose St. University and looking out at all the mountains all she could think about were landslides and how a landslide had come down on their career. Then she began writing the song.
she was only in Fleetwood Mac BECAUSE of that guitarist!!! He made her career ... she was not the best singer of the day .. she cannot compare to Mama Katz or Grace Slick as actual singers
She has such a distinctive voice, and singing highly personal lyrics which she wrote herself... she just makes this song her own. You're getting the real Stevie, straight from the soul here- 100% genuine. What more can an artist possibly give, than their whole self to the audience like this? It's very moving.
Stevie’s music has saved my life. Many times. I’ve seen her twice in concert as a solo artist and I consider those some of the best times of my life. This makes me cry every time.
Stevie Nicks is and has always been outstanding. One of the greatest voices in music history. And Fleetwood Mac are probably my favourite band. As i got older i appreciate their music more. 20 years ago i wouldn't give it the light of day. No idea why i was like that. I was so unaware back then of what true talent is.
There was a radio program Stevie or Goat where they either played an excerpt of Stevie or a goat. You had to guess which it was. It was difficult. I find her singing in those days good. Nowadays not so.
