I couldn't corral the chickpeas, so I smushed them and made a spread.
Hi Katie, I was wondering if you make your own bread? It's very inexpensive to make and would be yummy with the soup.
I'm on a no spend January and pantry challenge combo. So far we are doing great. I haven't spent anything in the first 20 days of the challenge. I love pineapple fried rice and we haven't had it in while. I normally add a can of rinsed black beans too. I like it as a cold salad or served in a tortilla. Thanks for reminding me that I should make that. Great ideas. Thanks for the reminder.
Great job on your no-spend month and pantry challenge! Putting the pineapple fried rice on a tortilla is a delicious idea.
I love bbq chickpeas. I always add a little liquid smoke to mine.
Oh, that is a great idea!
Bbq lentils are yummy too.
Love the split pea soup! I really like creating soups with leftovers from meals along with pantry pulls like rice and orzo and all those odds and ends in the produce bin. My last soup was a mushroom barley and there's only one serving left for lunch tomorrow.
Thanks for the weekly food inspiration. 😋🥣🥪
I absolutely love the idea of zero food waste with your pantry cleanout method since so much food goes to waste everyday all over the country. I've been considering always making sure to finish and cook what I have before consiseintly buying more, but now you have encouraged me to get started as soon as possible. Thank you kindly for sharing this with us.
These recipes all look so good. I was just rewatching your low spend videos from last year because it's that time of year I like to try to clean out the cabinets and save some money.
I love your recipes. You’re very creative. I do have some advice. Have you ever considered buying an instant pot? You can find a nice one at Goodwill for about $20. I have two. It’s a total game changer. You can use dried beans in your recipes without needing to soak them. In most cases beans are done in about 40 minutes. Also, you can cook potatoes and sweet potatoes in a fraction of the time and they come out perfect. Rice comes out perfect too. I make spaghetti squash a lot and you can cook them whole and then cut them after they’re soft. I use mine to bulk cook every week. My gas and electric bill has gone down about $15 a month since I’ve been doing this. Also have you considered making your own bread? It doesn’t take that much hands on time and it’s so much healthier. Thank you for making your videos. I was a single mom for 10 years. I worked multiple jobs. I’m engaged now but I still live my frugal lifestyle. I feel less alone knowing you’re out there doing it too. ❤😊
Yum, never had chili on sweet potatoes, love both though!
All the recipes looked great! But the pineapple fried rice is a dish I really want to try!! 😋
We need to do this now. I hope to use some some things that have been in my freezer and pantry all year
The pineapple fried rice looks delicious!
Everything looks tasty!
That barbequed chick pea sandwich! Yes!!! 😍😋❤
😊 Promo'SM
Really great ideas! I'm going to give myself a little mini challenge to put off grocery shopping till Monday, and instead use things up from my pantry and freezer for this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Yay! I am happy I have inspired you!
,👍
I love those Manischevitz (sp?) soup mixes. Have used them for years! Adding in veggies etc like you!
I made the pineapple fried rice. It was delicious. Thank you.
Great recipes!! Thanks for sharing! I’m also trying to use up random ingredients from the pantry, fridge and freezer. Thankfully, my family is ok with eating the ‘creative’ meals I’ve been serving!! 😂
Thank you for the inspiration, I freeze the suryp or juice from tinned fruit in a ice cube tray. I then use it in salad dressing or marinade or add it to carbonated water for just a touch of sweetness. Love your channel. ⚘️
I've not done clean out pantry meals before. It's a nice idea so think I will try it. Good to use up things even in tins just sitting there, also to think up a new meal idea. Thanks.
Everything looks great! We have been working on a pantry clean out since January, though we did take some time off when we went out of town to visit family. This week has been nothing but clean out the fridge and making sure we focus on eating all the leftovers.
Do you have a electric pressure cooker? Making beans in it is a snap and very economical!!
Absolutely love how you save money for your family! I also love the fact that regular pantry clean outs prevent food going to waste! Me and my husband are on a money saving journey as well and try very hard not to throw anything away.
Funny side note: If you translate "manische witz" from german into english it means "manic joke". I'm so sorry but I had to point this out. 😂
Love from Switzerland ❤️
Look like excellent meals! And not too time-consuming to make. And healthy!
That looks so good!
Delish!
You are so creative. It sll looked delicious.
Thank you so much 🤗
Gonna try that bbq sandwich!!
It was so good!
Are you cooking on a hot plate?
Yes! We are currently in the middle of renovating our kitchen and it has been a lifesaver. I don’t even have to cook IN the kitchen anymore 😂
