I have been watching a lot of Get Out of Debt videos, and have been amused/puzzled by how many people spend a lot of money to start getting out of debt. Plastic money separators, decorated envelopes, Louis Vuitton wallets, multiple binders, and cute little savings and debt trackers. This stuff costs real money. When I decided I was going to save some money, I started putting my coins in a tin that some chocolate came in, and my bills into a bank envelope. It is NOT cute, but I did not go out and spend anything to start saving.
I just refreshed my wardrobe from my local thrift store. I LOVE everything I got, most were bought on 50% off day. One of the blouses is a Vera Wang I got for $3.25. I am debt free, own my home and cars and have my finances in place.
@@isabelauribe137 I rarely carry cash with me. I use my card for everything. I can cancel a card if something happens, but you can't cancel cash if you lose it or it gets stolen. Buying clothing used is SUCH a good way to save money! While I think it IS important to make sure I look well dressed and well put together these days, it's almost never necessary to buy pieces new at high prices! You can find fabulous designer names for almost nothing if you look!

It doesn't happen so much now but people used to think my frugalism was wacky. I used to think to myself " Yep, you keep on working while I'm busy planning my escape". My husband and I paid off our mortgage early, completely gave up working at 53 and last year we also bought a holiday home - no borrowing involved. We're not financial geniuses - frugality got us here. The best thing is that we never, ever felt that we were going without. We wore nice clothes, ate good food and lived in a nice house. Love the first: embrace your weirdness. My husband had decided that after he paid off his student debt to a top engineering school, he would never have ANY debt again. Period. Including house, cars, kids' college, etc. This meant we made some choices very different from friends, family, neighbors. We are in our 50's now. We are still weird, but never stressed about bills, weddings, kids' tuition, kids' weddings, or vacations. Saying no to "keeping up with the Jones" used to bother me in my 30's and 40's, but now I embrace the simplicity. And when our car crossed the 350,000 mile mark (and it showed, believe me), we paid cash for a really nice used car with less than 80,000 without stressing. I even kind of miss that old car which served us with so many cross country trips with our kids growing up. You might think our kids were embarrassed by our pared down, modest lifestyle, but they were and are happy to invite their friends to our home (and our daughter is at a private university populated with extremely wealthy folks). This one resonated with me as well! My grandparents moved to a nursing home recently, and then my grandma passed away. My mom's family has sorted out all their things in order to sell the house. There was some kitchen stuff in good condition and my aunt was going to throw it away when my mom said, wait! Let's take this to the thrift store, someone else will be able to use it! My aunt was dismissive at first, saying that 'surely no-one would use someone else's used pots' and then very surprised when my mom said that she almost never buys anything for the kitchen new... The beautiful thing was though that later my aunt apologised and thanked my mom for broadening her perspective (although I don't think my aunt will ever go to a thrift store herself lol). I really respect the 'no debt ever again' take on life. I will personally make an exception for a mortgage (if all goes well and we're able to buy) because I know we'll never be able to save enough money for a home in cash, but that's it, anything less large and long term will be saving first, buying after.

I BUDGET LIKE A BOSS!😂 I invest, have a goal fund, emergency fund, my son and granddaughter a savings/custodial account, a “travel/entertainment/fun” account, Roth and 401k, and track my transportation, grocery, personal, and entertainment expenses. I’m going to find every deal that I can.😆 I purchase quality clothing for the best deal(90% off makes my heart happy😌). I only purchase occasionally, and never before I’ve donated. 👏🏽❤️ I don’t want STUFF for the sake of having STUFF!
Bad money habits definitely led to no savings for us. I’m so glad to have made changes the last year to turn that around. I’m glad you shared this and I hope it helps someone!!
Balance is key. Just like hoarding is an addiction, frugality/minimalism can be as well. If you’re spending all your time thinking about your budget, you’re losing valuable time as well. Love and light. Good video. ❤️
I never gave much thought about money but on my 25th birthday I realized I barely had assets and a lot of personal Loans and credit card debt! I changed my habits now I’m planning on being debt free and financially independent!!
Oooooh, we have SUCH a good story too! I think I’ve convinced my husband that if we hit 10k subscribers we should do a couples Q&A, so fingers crossed. 🤞
Yesss I second this! I just found your channel and subscribed and would love to see that video! I run a wedding photography studio as my other business, so I'm a sucker for love stories 😊
I’ve been a minimalist for three years now and since then I’ve managed to buy a house as a single parent, and I’m aiming to pay off my mortgage in three more years if I stick to my budget and my financial goals. So I’m always watching for content such as yours for motivation and inspiration to keep going. 💗 Plus coming from a third world country and growing up poor myself, makes me appreciate what I have Nowa do achieved. Wishing you all the best on your journey from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
I didn’t know this is how your husband grew up!! My mom grew up similarly in the mountains of Seoul. She lived in a one room hut with her parents, grandparents, and 3 brothers. Her dad made her mom leave when my mom was 11, so she was taken out of school to take care of the family. It is crazy how different her life is now compared to then.❤️
My husband was born, and brought up in the Philippines. He was middle class, so their home had three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. His Mom was a Filipina, and his Dad was American. They'd both had really hard upbringings, so they were super frugal. I grew up with times when we had money, and times when we didn't. Our home here in the USA isn't huge, but compared to what he grew up with it is. I am English, so our homes there were all considerably smaller. We don't do the keeping up with the Joneses nonsense, but I'm a total shopper/hoarder. I'm having therapy to help me get to grips with it. I've got loads of things that I need to sell 💖
"I never look at my life in terms of what I'm lacking." This is the very first time I have heard this, and you are about to make so much difference in my life. God bless, and thank you!
Decluttering, I found clothes from my grandma. Beautiful fabric but old designs. I thought about donating it to a theather. And so I found out that on was burnt less than a month ago. I gave the stuff to them. They were very grateful and I was glad I found a nice destiny to those things.
Hi! I also lost both my parents when I was young. I also engaged in binge eating and consumerism to fill the void. I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m always trying to declutter. I spend most of my days managing my house and belongings. I’d rather spend that time with my 3 little kids and husband!
I can absolutely feel with you what you said about thrift stores - I love them. You really can find treasures and also being mindful with our environment at the same time! Thank you!
i am so with you on this--i actually just made a commitment, because I'm ready to, that I will consciously purchase. thrift stores fully fit in to this, as well as the discovery that investing and paying a little bit more for organic food raised my joy quotient of the food and i ended up being more satisfied not because I paid more but because more people are benefitting from the purchase. it's like, going beyond the dollar and seeing who it affects amplifies the value of the dollar
Another thing you can do is borrow from family or friends if you need something only occasionally! We rarely fly, and I don't feel like spending $100+ on a big suitcase I'll use maybe 3 times max in the next 10 years. We're borrowing from my in-laws ☺️ And borrowing instead of buying leads to less clutter and stuff to store.
There’s nothing wrong to buy from thrift shops. The wrong thing is when you try to live your life on others expectations. I’d be happy in that situation, I decluttered some judgemental people forever if they choose to turn away😀
I'm absolutely with you there! I love spending time with other people who are money conscious. I love going out with my 'hiking' friends to hang out instead of going shopping or out for drinks!
Even though I make cold process soap to wash my body etc., I find these videos usually say stop buying meat, stop buying laundry detergent, stop buying toilet paper/paper goods. (I understand paper towels and maybe tissues, but rags instead of toilet paper. 🤮 Maybe a bidet.) I appreciate this take a lot!
I'm 65 years old now and looking back, the biggest and best way I've made money was to live in a home for a few years, make it look nice as I lived there and then sell it at a big profit. I've almost always bought a bit of a fixer upper. Nothing too dilapidated because, after all, I lived in it. If I made enough money, I'd even take a few years off of work so I could spend time with my kids. I've mostly been a single woman.
I'm 30 years old and since in my early 20's in college i always want to be minimalist...now that I'm living my own and work hard finally I'm living minimalistic life 😊
The library is one of my favorite frugality hacks. The library has audiobooks, books, magazines, music cds, movies, tv shows & cookbooks.......all for free! And, if the library doesn't have an item that you want, you can request it, and they will order it!
My family thought we were nuts until 2yrs and 11mo after purchasing our Condo we tore up the mortgage. Our income was the lowest in the family. We are now considered the gurus of saving in the family.
To track my cash purchases, I got a $1 3 ring binder, a $1 set of divider pages with tabs, and some of the kids' filler paper. I put the subject at the top of the page, put the month on the first line, and the amounted budgeted on the right side for the running balance. After a purchase, I put the date, amount spent, ñote of item, and remaining balance and kept a running total on the right side. It was so helpful to see where my money went, how little things add up, and to make adjustments in my money decisions and budget allocations. I went from a single mom of 3 with a bery tight budget, to a retired mom with no worries...who still uses this plan.
Learn to love things that are free or cheap. These are usually good for you such as running, walking, reading, going to a budget gym, drinking water instead of pop, embracing hobbies such as art or crafts.
I love your channel! My fam of 7 had the house payed off and 2 cars. I shop mostly at trift stores but im bot afraid to splurge on a nice comforter. Cooking at home and shopping at cheaper grocery stores, plus trifting saves me tons of money. And you know what? My kids go to a fancy private school where they receive classical education because thats more important than having brand name shoes!
I got a lovely dress for my daughters birthday and it was only $10 plus $6 shipping off mercari. It’s from a store that sells high end dresses for around $100 each, and I got it for a steal. I almost spent double that on a cheap Amazon dress. I also got 3 pairs of gently worn shoes for only $30 with shipping included when I almost spent $42 on one pair of shoes for my toddler! I’m proud of the changes I’ve made already with my spending because I used to just spend my money because I could.
You are right, it obvious a lot of people remain poor due to ignorance. But for me it better to take risk and make sacrifices than to remain poor forever.
I feel like minimalism/ zero waste..or "low waste" go hand to hand. I just started this journey...so im learning alot from these youtube videos. I used to buy comic book collectibles...then i started selling them.
We dont care what others think, we dont judge and we LOVE Consignment Shops and Goodwill I shop a lot at these 2 shops. I love I can buy a fancy sun dress for 75 cents on Senior day yes indeed. Paid our home off, paid two vehicles off, live on our Retirement Ranch and loving it.
Once you got to the second tip I just threw my fists in the air in triumph because hearing you give advice to do the things I'M DOING that I had to figure out for myself makes me feel like I am truly finding the right path and following my gut has been the right thing to do. I have an electric bike instead of a car and a good portion of people simply CANNOT understand it (probably bc they cannot relate), and I have even had people offer me a car they're selling after I explicitly pointed out I do not want a car. They are so in denial this is possible they completely ignore it. Mind-blowing. Additionally, i am now looking into purchasing a truck and truck camper to become my permanent home, while all my friends are buying houses. Though some understand, most of the people around me do NOT and WILL NOT open their minds to understand. It's always "um why in the world would you do that?!" Or "that's not going to work." But I feel so comfortable now with nt goals and choices they are the ones who appear odd to me. Have definately embraced my apparent weirdness! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and help a lot of people find their path!
I am proud to be frugal. Again its not about being “cheap” its about managing and utilizing resources wisely. My lessons came from being on my own since the age of 16 and literally having NO $$ Financial literacy is so crucial in life
I'd love to hear about your husband's story coming to America. My mother immigrated from country side Korea 45 years ago and I've never gotten to experience or get a visual into her life. The b-roll you shared of his home was just like stories I was told. It amazes me that my journey to be ok with less gets combated with "having enough to be enough" narratives from generations past...

I even automated my property tax payment. I simply pay monthly installments early so by the time it’s due it’s already paid. I have totally automated my weekly investments in dividend stocks as well. I use what I used to call my mad money but I own everything I need and I don’t shop as an activity anymore so I just enjoy watching the account grow.

I want to hear your husbands story and how you met and began dating, fell in love etc. I’m a total sucker for love stories
Oooooh, we have SUCH a good story too! I think I’ve convinced my husband that if we hit 10k subscribers we should do a couples Q&A, so fingers crossed. 🤞
@@AtoZenLife you have 15k Subscribers so is it a go ? I've just found your channel
@@ykook7000 Yes, hubby has work projects to finish up and we are thinking to share around summertime...we hit 10k faster than expected. 😂
SAME ❤
Yesss I second this!
I would LOVE to see some frugal/minimalist food inspiration!
I have been getting a lot of requests for this, I will put it on the list.
Dave Ramsey's channel has been so helpful with my finances.
Working single parent who became minimalist not by choice, but I've grown to love it. Great video thank you.
This video was really good! I was expecting the typical "don't buy Starbucks everyday" advice, but this was a lot better.
Thank you! Glad to surpass expectations. ✨🙌✨
I agree! The information in this video was actually really valuable about how to embrace real financial minimalism!
“Everything you've ever wanted is sitting on the other side of fear.” Sharing some positivity with all of you. Keep smiling you are amazing.
These kinda videoes is the main reason i love RUclips, or the interwebs in all! Thank you!
I didn’t know this is how your husband grew up!! My mom grew up similarly in the mountains of Seoul. She lived in a one room hut with her parents, grandparents, and 3 brothers. Her dad made her mom leave when my mom was 11, so she was taken out of school to take care of the family. It is crazy how different her life is now compared to then.❤️
So similar! It’s totally crazy and incomprehensible to what our life is nowadays, right?
Would love to hear your husband's story. I also am an immigrant, so it will be interesting to hear others' stories.
Excellently said I recently received a relief check from a charitable organization for $24,000 and I still can't believe it
you can correspond with a relief officer

i live in Vermont, and im on SSA.. can i apply
I never expected to see a subscriber mention this dependable body, which was a strong helping hand for me and my family when times were tough
Well said. There is nothing more valuable than freedom and time. I'm glad you said that because when it comes to finances that should be the top goal.
"I never look at my life in terms of what I'm lacking." This is the very first time I have heard this, and you are about to make so much difference in my life. God bless, and thank you!
No. 1 is so crucial! We must not crumble.
I so love tip# 5, movie night for me and my family is watching free movies from Tubi with window blinds close and lights off 😍
Decluttering, I found clothes from my grandma. Beautiful fabric but old designs. I thought about donating it to a theather. And so I found out that on was burnt less than a month ago. I gave the stuff to them. They were very grateful and I was glad I found a nice destiny to those things.
That's actually a great idea honestly, I wouldn't have thought of that one myself
Hi! I also lost both my parents when I was young. I also engaged in binge eating and consumerism to fill the void. I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m always trying to declutter. I spend most of my days managing my house and belongings. I’d rather spend that time with my 3 little kids and husband!
😢 glad you “found” me and sending good vibes your way. ✨
She is right I have four Yorkies on a budget and I always make bottle toys with stone in the inside or socks with other ok’d clothes in the inside 😍
I can absolutely feel with you what you said about thrift stores - I love them. You really can find treasures and also being mindful with our environment at the same time! Thank you!
Yes, it's way more sustainable to buy clothes 2nd-hand!
i am so with you on this--i actually just made a commitment, because I'm ready to, that I will consciously purchase. thrift stores fully fit in to this, as well as the discovery that investing and paying a little bit more for organic food raised my joy quotient of the food and i ended up being more satisfied not because I paid more but because more people are benefitting from the purchase. it's like, going beyond the dollar and seeing who it affects amplifies the value of the dollar
First point is sooo important
We all want to hear your husband's story. Thank you for sharing your story, advice, and experiences in such a down to earth way.
Thanks so much, can’t wait to share! ✨🤗✨
That dog is awesome!
Finally!! Some actually useful Budgeting tips on RUclips! Thank you
Another thing you can do is borrow from family or friends if you need something only occasionally! We rarely fly, and I don't feel like spending $100+ on a big suitcase I'll use maybe 3 times max in the next 10 years. We're borrowing from my in-laws ☺️ And borrowing instead of buying leads to less clutter and stuff to store.
This is one smart lady. Love this no nonsense content. Thank you for this video. A refreshing change to popular over-consumption culture.
I admire you. Your story is inspirational ❤❤
I’m sorry that happened with the playground moms. Wow. I would be like...New Best friend! YES! 🤣
Thrifty sisters. 👯♀️
Wow! You are amazing
Not an option where I live. The junk houses aren’t much less if at all than the renovated ones
Same here! Good for u!! 😊
I just found your channel over the Xmas holiday, so I'm catching up. Wow, you and your hubs are amazing!!!
I'm happy to share I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and I have an emergency fund. Thanks to listening to Dave Ramsey.
My family thought we were nuts until 2yrs and 11mo after purchasing our Condo we tore up the mortgage. Our income was the lowest in the family. We are now considered the gurus of saving in the family.
I love the thrift store a little too much, lol
It’s a fine line between “saving money” and “thrifting addict”. 🙃
One of greatest befits on minimalism 👍🏻👍🏻
Hope you can get 1000 likes. I think your husband's story would be motivational.
Thank you!
I love you! Keep being you :)
Awww we definitely need to see more of your husband.
Key takeaway: Make saving a habit like you would paying a bill.
I appreciate the video, this exactly what I need for motivation
Whenever you invest you're buying a day you don't have to work.
what are this assets that can makes on rich?
Bitcoin
Stocks
Real estate
You are right, it obvious a lot of people remain poor due to ignorance. But for me it better to take risk and make sacrifices than to remain poor forever.
I guess it not ignorance but do to some unprofessional expert in the market.
The tip about large expenses is so true! Everyone talks about latte but a cheaper apartment is the real game changer!
I feel like minimalism/ zero waste..or "low waste" go hand to hand. I just started this journey...so im learning alot from these youtube videos. I used to buy comic book collectibles...then i started selling them.
One good thing about me. I do track everything.
The practicality of these tips is beyond my expectations! Keep it educate people as much as you can about minimalism
It's always "um why in the world would you do that?!" Or "that's not going to work."
But I feel so comfortable now with nt goals and choices they are the ones who appear odd to me. Have definately embraced my apparent weirdness! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and help a lot of people find their path!
*Děkujeme.* 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
So sorry for the loss of your parents! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I am proud to be frugal.
Again its not about being “cheap” its about managing and utilizing resources wisely. My lessons came from being on my own since the age of 16 and literally having NO $$
Financial literacy is so crucial in life
wOW!, You made me laugh!! in 1.2 seconds and I subscribed. Thank you for making this video.
How interesting! We Americans are so spoiled. I’d love to hear his story!
Thanks Diane!
I thrift all the time. And I am complimented everyday on my thrift clothes 😅
You are such a breath of fresh hair. Instant follow.
I love your style! The way you talk about your journey opens my eyes...Thank you!
Budgeting is so important if you want to take control of your financial destiny. This is how Tom and I manage our family finances and include our financial goals. ruclips.net/video/rd8WkxvMAqg/видео.html xCC
Wow I have to salute you to choose a good quality husband. Although poor both you can survive and live a quality life. Simply awesome.
Two minutes into your video, and I love your openness, perspective, and honesty. Subscribed!
This is refreshing. Different from the other channels with their same old same old ideas. Thank you.
You and your husband are such interesting people! Please share your husband's story.
My family are so frugal. They are also now extremely loaded! I should learn from them.
Love those! Especially the last one. Never stop educating yourself! 🙌 Today it is easier than ever before to find (free) information on literally anything on the internet. Use this opportunity!
This is FANTASTIC content. Way to go. I’m sucked in. Glad I found you.
Omg! People used to say it was weird when I priced things by how many hours I would need to work for it! It's such a good tip though, especially if you don't like your job
#3 is sooo true.
It's so important, especially when you are first starting out!
You are literally the first person to explain what pay yourself first actually means.
I would really like to hear your husband's story. My husband has a similar story from Venezuela.
It’s amazing how many of these small stories there are that no one gets to hear, I hope we can share soon. ✨❤️✨
Thank you for your good advices. You ar q wonderf. inspiration for others. God bleas you . Best regards. Christina
Love this .. I never new there was a name for this .. been like this since a divorce and I was left with nothing (still battling it out)kept myself out of unnessesary debt !Ditched a lot of men that were so far into debt it wasn’t funny .. it is so funny when a non- frugal person says don’t worry buy that crazy expensive item you de serve to be happy!! Haha to them happy must be being in debt …I’m so happy I prefer to save than overspend!!!
Thrift store furniture ! They can deliver big pieces for a low cost. My local one has a delivery fee of $30 so I’ll find a nice big dresser for $30 and all together spend $60 for a piece of furniture when bought new goes for $200-$300.
I love how humble and genuine you are! I am sorry to hear that both of your parents have passed on while you were so young. You're extremely strong, and resilient to go through life's adversities! I just subscribed :)
Yeees, this girl is so down to Earth and yet so sttong, reasonable and kind, smart and humble. And helpfull in my own minimalistic journey which is now about 5 years...
I’m thankful my aunts made thrift shopping together a normal fun thing.
Finally, a relatable RUclips video. I needed this to get back in line. Subbed!
Btw, I got bored one night and added up how much I was spending per month at work on 'snacks' it was over $300. I stopped buying stuff at work. Ppl would be surprised how much we spend on a daily basis.
Yep, if we don’t keep track of spending we have no idea. Thanks for watching! 🙌
One of my favourite free things, is your advice Marissa 🤗
I can relate with the park incident.
I have a trauma with frugal advise to even people close to me. I mean whats wrong with conserving your hard earn money . I feel ashame sometimes that im frugal. When most people cant live without being in debt. Most people cant understand some of us decides to LIVE WITHIN OUR MEANS because We have specific goals and priorities. Just sayin... Thankyou for sharing your journey financialy. Very inspiring . Looking forward for your hubby to join you
Yes, someone was very nasty on here the other day because my shoes have holes in them! I CHOOSE not to replace them because shoes are hard to recycle, to save $, and because they are otherwise perfectly fine besides a tiny toe-hole. Glad you “found” me! ✨👋✨
