I am fortunate to have $100k saved by the age of 27 without venturing into stocks. Now, I want to invest safely for growth in the next 3-4 years to buy a home. What's the best strategy?
I believe a healthy portfolio has 3 things, at the bare minimum: Exposure to ETFs for increased diversification, Exposure to assets that generate cash flow like dividend stocks, Exposure to market-leading tech.
You don't need to find the next NVDA to succeed in investing. Just choose top-notch ETFs and partner with a financial advisor like I did. I turned $100k into $40,000 in annual dividends-a significant milestone for me today.
Do you mind sharing info on the advisor who assisted you?
"Kristin Amber Landis" is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
Thanks for sharing. I curiously searched for her full name and her website popped up immediately. I looked through her credentials and did my due diligence before contacting her.
My husband works 20 hours a week, he makes $13,200 a year. I'm disabled and pregnant with our 2nd baby. We live on very little money, but we are Debt Free. No rent, no mortgage, we live in a RV with very small bills. We spend all day with each other and our kids. He works 3pm -7pm Monday to Friday. Only 4 hours a day. It is nice to be free and spend the day outside in nature together. We are saving to buy a house in cash, I dont trust bank mortgages or credit cards. Being frugal with money helps us live comfortably with very little money.❤ Thank you for all your knowledge and wisdom!
Wow! You live an exemplary life.
It's very nice to hear your story i appreciate it its very refreshing to hear that always be blessed and take care of yourself and family be joyful and loving 🐞🦋🌻😊😊
Where do you park your RV??
Don't you have lot rent ? Water, electricity, heating costs ? Personal taxes on the RV ? And being disabled you most likely receive disability money plus qualify for healthcare and food stamps which would add to your income.
I understand what you are saying that people can get by on less than they think they can.
Last month I did a 30 day challenge where I bought no groceries & just lived off my overstocked pantry. Never missed going to grocery store. I hate going to the grocery store. I'm so proud of you for standing up for yourself. I hate confrontation also.
Thats a great idea! I'm going to try it for May. Thanks for the idea.
Love that idea. I’m working on emptying and using the food in the freezer .
I'm so proud of you for taking a stand for the kids!!!! Yay,
PIT POLICE!!!!
"That's not nice!" is the most Canadian thing ever.
Totally! ❤
Came to say the same thing
Canadian for "WTF Get in your place". They were lucky there weren't cobra chickens available.
@@katecubed Too true!
Ikr😅
And this is how my husband and I can afford 4 kids on one income. My husband has a regular job but we are debt free and have always been debt free.
I also am debt free. I was also a sahm with two kids. The problem is that people don't live within their means and can't discern what is a want or a need.
@@cajbafthis! I, too, was a sahm with two boys (one with special needs). We bought our first home on only my husband's income, even though I was working. I'm so glad we live below our means.
How did you afford to buy a house? If I had had to wait until I could pay outright, my son would have been an adult and moved out by the time I could buy.
We have eight. I’m old now, but kids don’t need stuff; they don’t. It freaking blows my mind the equipment people buy for their babies. I so feel for these young people who think they can’t afford a baby. They don’t need special stuff; they don’t!!
Calculate the mortgage interest , and you will be infuriated. I hope you “ caught” the 2.5 percent small window, but even calculating that will make you mad.
You are amazing. I’m 63 years old, but learn from you with every video you put out. You inspire. Never forget that and please never stop❤
Glad I can help!
Yes ! I am 64 & I learn from Cas ! (and Dawn, Dana, Kallie, FrugalFitMom & more !)
Same! I’m 60!
There needs to be pit security at concerts. Bullies know most people hate confrontation and will get away with it. I think it’s great that you and other parents stood up to the bullying!!!
I read your comment before I got to the story and I thought you meant pit bulls, I didn't even question if that would be a bad idea lol 😂
YES ! Why is there security for this ?
Another positive reason to shop second hand is it is SO good for the environment!
We wear jeans 3 times, use towels for 3 days, pajamas 3 days! Thank you for bringing it up because it blows my mind how often people wash things that don’t “need” to be. I do change out hand towels and washcloths daily
Seriously so true! Plus the more you wash the faster you have to replace things.
Same!!!
I agree! If it doesn't smell and it doesn't look dirty, definitely don't wash it! It wastes water, time, energy (electricity and your own energy), AND can wear out your clothes faster!
SAME !
My mom always said your hair is clean and your body when drying, why is the towel dirty? She had a point, I let them go a few days unless obviously dirty
You know, Cas, people don’t talk about reusing towels or wearing clothes more than once or washing on cold.
All great points! And money savers.
Kudos to you for taking a stand. Very brave.
I wear clothes a few times before washing but not my towels because I’ve had a couple of staph infections and can’t do that.
You are definitely not supposed to reuse towels because they harbor bacteria. Especially if you dry your face in the spot you wiped your butt the time before.
Hey have a separate hand towels for the butt and replace as often as you wish.
Reuse the body towels. Just make sure your towel is on the thin side and dries quickly. If you live in warm weather hang outside to dry. It will smell wonderfully clean.
It occurs to me how many of us have to re-parent ourselves as we get older and teach ourselves how to live life better. I’m going through this right now with cleaning (hello to your channel!), food, and relationships. And money too lol. It never ends! I love that people like you help out the rest of us when you’ve figured out part of the journey.
Right ?? Well said !
Good for you for standing up to bullies! Glad it worked out and you had fun!
You are my heroine Cass, standing up for what is fair, and defending people who stand in line, and doing it with civility. This is the most Canadian thing I have heard today. YOU RULE.
Agreed!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for standing up for you and all the people around you!
I'm so happy for you girl, having money in the bank is a game changer! I only spend money on Fridays, it also makes me think about my purchases and most of the time I decide I don't actually want whatever it was.
Does that include groceries, or just things like amazon purchases that you save in your cart for later?
@ohcaptainmycaptain4829 Groceries, gas and pretty much everything else. I do Fridays because it's payday. I do all of my errands on Fridays. It does take a little planning and getting used to 🤣
Ooh, I LOVE this idea!
I love predetermined decisions!
Wow, this is the interesting concept. I just retired. I think I’m going to have to give this a try.
That’s a great idea!
GREAT end story, Cas. Good for you, girl. Proud of you.
I am so HAPPY to hear you say it is ok to defend yourself against bullies. Great to hear that other moms joined you! We live in a world in which it has become necessary to be brave, and what a great lesson to teach your kids too! Because let's face it, bullies don't stop unless they are taught there are consequences for being mean!!
I just hope the biggest bully of all won't become US president again.
He is getting away with everything and he will bully the whole planet again.
I’m proud of you for standing up to the mosh pit bullies! I have a tip for sending the wrong food back. Just say “ this looks really good. I bet the person who ordered it will be upset they didn’t get it.”
I love these stories. "NO" is a loving word. You and Joe had goals and you held each other accountable! You are an awesome team. All the best to your family.
😂I had the exact same situation when my daughter was little but we were in line for a t-shirt at an NSync concert! A mom pushed my 10 year old out of the way and tried to cut in front of her. I stood my ground and to this day it is one of the memories my daughter talks about and says “don’t mess with my mom!”
Yeaaaaaahhhhh! You go girl! Good you stood up for yourself and the “front rowers’” ♥️👏♥️👏♥️👏!!!
I’m only partially through the video, but yes! When we paid off all non-mortgage dept it was amazing freedom. Then we built our savings up (a lot) and the freedom compounded. Then we paid cash for a car for the first time (completely chances that experience) and even more freedom. Last year we were able to put an additional $30k towards our mortgage. All this while I’m fighting cancer for the 3rd time. I cannot imagine carrying that additional stress during an already stressful time. Thankfully we prioritized our finances before I got sick.
Lifting you up in prayer 🙏 The Great Physician is at work!
May your cancer permanently go into remission.
BOTH partners have to be on the same page with money. It doesn’t work otherwise. We’ve been saving consistently since our 20s. Now, in our 50s, hubs is semi retired (so he can be a RUclipsr! 😁) and it’s just me working but we have more than enough in savings and no debt that we are totally ok and I will still be able to retire at 60.
And PLEASE do yourself a favor. You had a vid recently that talked about cleaning your dryer lint trap. I had always removed the visible lint after each load but I did not realize how much buildup was on the screen. It was taking FOREVER to dry a load of laundry! I saw your vid and said what the heck, I’m gonna run that bigger through the dishwasher. It totally worked - and I feel safer knowing it’s less of a risk now. Thanks!!
Wish I had a good partner to help and be on the same page as me 😢 I get so tired of being single and having to be by myself.
Yeah I went and washed mine immediately.
Check the outside where it vents to the outdoors. I was just house sitting & the cage around it, that keeps creepy crawlers out, was compacted with 4” of hard dry lint. So now I need to clean out the entire hose. If it was mine, I’d replace it with a new one.
@@tabithatierney6512Being on your own means you get to decide which page you're on. Partners can complicate things.
@@lynnettemurphy8243 this is very true! I’ll have to remind myself of this!
Thanks for the tips and for reminding me why I never want to attend events with large crowds of strangers. That’s an easy category for me to save money on! 🎉😂
Yes!!
High Five; you deserve it for doing what was right. Way to go Cass and other Mom’s standing up to the bullies!
Thanks!
I needed these tips, thank you! The only thing I would add is, if you’re able to, don’t sacrifice health to save money. There are healthy options, which are just as delicious, and in some cases affordable. It will save you money on drugs, treatments devices, etc
I love to use what I have around the house. In the last few weeks I’ve made a bedside cart, a firewood shelter out of old wood and even parts of an old aviary and stuff from my craft room. I made a spray painting station out of a large cardboard box and a curtain rod. It’s fun to use stuff that you wouldn’t normally use to make new things.
Wow! I love hearing your talk about money. More please 😊
Brilliant advice given from real life experience- you just can’t beat that!
YES!! I LOVE the Pit Police!!! Good for you standing up for yourself! You are worth it even if there aren't small children to protect!
Good job Cas it's perfectly OK to stand up for yourself.
Thanks for the reminder about putting 10% of your income into savings. I stopped doing that when extra money was needed for a huge repair. Need to start doing that again. Also, it took a hard lesson of huge credit card debt long ago to vow never to use credit cards again. High five for standing up to the concert bullies!
If you have your pay automatically deposited I would recommend setting up a second account for a preset amount to be deducted at the same time. It's great because I only really look at my chequing account so it doesn't really hurt so bad. Then when I go to the other account it like a huge surprise how quickly it accumulates when you don't have to manually transfer funds.
@@theagta Ah, that's a good method. Thanks!
Proud of you for fighting the good fight! You demonstrated an important lesson for your daughter! "That's not nice! " is a great fight rant!!😂
We wash everything in cold and have had no issues. We also only dry towels and sheets in the dryer, everything else, yup, undies, socks etc are all hung to dry.
Great video! 🌟🌟
Thank you. I think having to struggle for years creates a lifelong mindset about how I view my money. I see it as money to save. With a mindset of saving money even when I didn’t have it to save, I am a lot more stable now than I would have been if I’d budgeted my money to spend down vs saving up.
I also attend RUclips University!! I wish I could fix my car that way but I don't have the tools to do it. Good for you for standing up to the bullies at the concert!
Some of the auto parts places will lend you the tools.
After two years of asking 3 different mechanics to change out my power steering fluid, I found different videos on my specific vehicle & after reading comments, I did it myself without much effort, & it made a world of difference. Saved me from having to replace the pump, which would have ran around $1,700.
From the comments: if you place a piece of heavy cardboard between the ground & each front tire, you can turn the wheels freely, then you won’t need a jack.
@@sunshine3914 Thank you
Find a traveling car repair person.
I bought headlight bulb and fixed my headlight in the parking lot. I didn't need any tools. Ego booster too.
Being debt free and having a nest egg for retirement is awesome! 😁

It really is!
Great tips you shared today. I have been doing no spend for 3 weeks and only purchased dairy goods as needed. It’s amazing how we don’t realize how much we actually have in food and need to use up. I only wash in laundry in cold water, I never used a dishwasher although we’ve had one for many years. I use it as my drying rack. I wear pajamas numerous times and jeans as well because I work from home. No need to waste the money foolishly. I am completely out of debt and use my credit card but pay it off at the end of the month. Today was the first day I actually purchased for me. I bought 6 summer tops for the Florida heat. I will continue the no spend challenge as my husband is loving it and we only buy necessities or when an item is needed. I wish more people would at least trying it and maybe because you gave great tips more will be trying it out. Definitely a game changer without sacrifice.
Thanks for sharing the financial tips Cass! And also thank you for your story at the end, way to stand up for yourself and others, great lesson for all of us! Don't let the bullies win!! 💪❤❤
My favorite part of the video was the end! Way to stand up for what was right! We need more people in this world who will do that. 😊
Cass - you are my guru. I am discovering that I have ADHD so I’ve struggled for most of my 55 years. When you explain how to do something it helps me. Thank you. ❤❤❤
Way to GO Cass... I'm proud of you being the Pitt Police!!
Thanks!
I LOOOVE Cass, the Enforcer ❤️ you may not have become a firefighter, but you are a protector 👊✊
Great for you for standing up for yourself and the younger people.
Hi, I'm from Italy and watching your video makes me really think how our menthality in Europe is so different from yours on the "other side of the pond". I constantly do what you suggest on my daily basis. And when you do it you realise how simple and cheaper life can be. Your life gets lighter and your wallet heavier!
First of all, I absolutely love your pit police story! Kudos to you for standing up for what’s right and getting out of your comfort zone!
Second, another wildly valuable thing you can find at RUclips university is thousands of videos of people with very modest incomes who have managed to create a very comfortable life! The information is out there!
The problem today is most people always think that, you only need a good job to get rich... These millionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't know exists
Money invested is far better than money saved, when you invest it gives you an opportunity to increase your financial worth
The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government paycheck. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world , this is still a time to invest in Stocks, Forex and Digital currencies
I loved this! Many of the things I already do, but what caught my attention was making the kids' snacks!!! With 3 kids all they want are snacks. Right now, I buy the snacks and ration them out. So once the general stash is out, it's out, until I restock it. This has helped a lot too!
I LOVE that you stood up for yourself & others. So proud of you. Go Mama Bear! You set a great example for your daughter. 🙂💪
Thank you so much!!
Hi, I just found your channel. You have great tips on being frugal. I know what you mean about getting angry when it comes to seeing your bank statement each month and seeing how much interest you are paying. I think, this was my turning point to becoming frugal! Also love your story about sticking up against the bullies at the concert. You go girl!
😂 the end. This is why I pay for a seat, cuz hunny no. I ❤ you man. These tips are solid and I needed them.
I'm so proud of you for standing up for everyone!!!! Good job 👏 👍 👌
The ending was the BEST 😂
I love it ❤ pit police
You said the word safety and I broke into tears. I'm a 31 yo sahm(not really by choice, im basically unemployable) of 3 w seriously undertreated adhd(due to a lengthy addiction)living in a little cluttered bronx apartment(real poverty, for America at least) You are one of very few people online that I honestly relate to, seriously contemplating you and Dawn's home coarse (with my dollar over lunch money tax return lol) while it's priced lower, I'm struggling to get the help I need on a medical level. And financially there are so many steps and obstacles to get me to be employable your story is similar to mine (minus an 8 yr heroine binge) anyway your story gives me alot of hope when my situation sometimes feels rather hopeless, I look around and my home is screaming at me
Sorry if I kinda talk in circles/out of order...but I feel a connection and maybe you'll be able to help me for real😊❤
WOW you are a fabulous roll model for your children and every single sub. Thank you for sharing✌️💜✌️

Good for you Cas! I also fall in the non-confrontational group but there are limits. Thank you! 😊
You rock Cas!! Good for you!!
Well done on standing up to bullies! You also set an example to others about doing what is right, what manners are, and the power of starting with just one person. Go you! 🌟
Good for you!!!! People should be better
You are so inspiring. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and insights.
It's ALWAYS okay to stand up for yourself. Proud of you!
Thank you Cass! :)
Way to stand up for yourself, your daughter and all the other kids! Be proud!!!😉
Thank you so much!!
This is basically the Dave Ramsey playbook , if anyone needs more help with this!
*Edited to add: watching Dave Ramsey on RUclips is absolutely free . They have a whole RUclips network of amazing people talking about a debt free lifestyle and a radio show on RUclips every week day for 3 hours of live calls and answers to everyone’s questions.
The first 10% for Christians is a tithe to the local church congregation and Dave says then 15% to your retirement. It’s worked for us for years.
Agreed, but Dave Ramsey isn't free. When you are broke, you can't afford to pay money to hear common sense.
@@MaryWolf-7066 Dave Ramsey is absolutely free. You can watch their daily show Monday- Friday for 3 hours a day of live calls and advice. They also have “smart money happy hour” , “the Rachel Cruze show” and more for free on RUclips that are all Dave Ramsey personalities talking about how to live a debt free life.
@@MaryWolf-7066 There are a multitude of videos with Dave Ramsey that are FREE.
@@cajbaf Yes, I agree, and occasionally watch one of his. There was no intent on my part to slam Ramsey. Cass has taken the basic principals and put them on one simple, easy to watch video. It's a magnificent place for someone who is struggling to start and be motivated to do so in a very short time.
This was the best!! Really needed this!! Thanks for sharing your life story.
God bless you! Thank you for this video 😊
So proud of you! Standing up for yourself and others is what the world needs. 🎉❤🎉
I just discovered today that you are *supposed* to wash normal (cotton) terry cloth towels on cold (or at most warm). Makes sense, since heat shrinks the cotton of a towel just as much as that of a pair of blue jeans, but I'd always thought I was supposed to wash them on hot. So, you can save on washing *and* on buying new towels by washing them on cold!
If you have an oily-skinned person in your household, cold water will not cut the body oils on towels. The oils will turn rancid and your towels will eventually smell stale. Quality cotton towels are made with preshrunk fabric, and will not shrink in hot water.
I’m so proud of you!
You are hysterical! Love it!
Haaaa. I know what u mean. Good 4u. Sometimes we just gotta speak up. People like that truly need to be put in their place. Nothing was stopping u. Lol. Hope u enjoyed the concert. 🎉
Thanks for reminding me to wash my towels. I change out our towels every Tuesday and Friday. Seems to work really well for us.
Awesome!
oh that weekly menu thing is so nice!!!
you go, girl!!!!
Hahaha well done for being the pit police. You did the right thing which isn’t easy or fun ❤
Hi cass !! Your storietimesarethe best ever 😊 . Thank you for the money advice . I love the shop on Sunday &gas up the car the best . Yes it’s gonna suck but we can do it ❤🙏🏼👍🏼
It sucks, but it's easier than I thought. My "all or nothing" brain can do these types of challenges better than trying to have self-discipline 24/7. I am NOT good with self-discipline.
OMG THAT END STORY!!❤️🔥THE PIT POLICE YAAAAAAS!! CAS, YOU’RE AMAAAZING!!❣️👏💪🙌🙏
Great tips and they make so much sense!!! Thank you for such great advise!!!
The credit card companies are so predatory. If you can’t maintain paying off a card as soon as you spend something it’s better to just cut them up and never use cards again. I had to do that because I realized that those “cash back/ rewards/ miles” I was funding that for everyone else.
YES! They know what they are doing and it's gross. I went to a college tour with Izzy and saw MULTIPLE credit card booths offer students credit cards and "free merch". What?!
I know it’s horrible!!
They really target teens going into college with credit cards. Tell them before they get trapped into that thinking.
❤yes. Agree 100%!!! It does take self discipline!!!! HUGE motivation is paying yourself interest NOT paying interest to the man! (Who btw is sitting back on his yacht or one of his multiple homes sipping wine😂)
I love love this video. Great tips!Thank you!!!!! ❤❤
So you should stand up for yourself! In the process you gained integrity!!! ❤Hurray for the pit police!! 😂 you go girl!!!
How is your studying for FF exam?
OMG...I had my final physical test on Saturday. It was BAD...probably my most embarrassing moment of all time, and well, you know I've had some embarrassing moments in the past! I'm going to share it on next week's end story. In the meantime, I'm just over here dying inside.
Stop it!! You such an inspiration!! You’ve grown from the experience in some way shape or form!! ❤ you did amazing going through this process!! ❤
I can’t wait to hear all about it!!
Proud of you for being The Pit Police at the concert! I also feel your stress and anxiety at having to do this. How awful that they didn't provide security to take care of this issue for you!! Definitely no Pits for me!!!!
