Love that she doesn't rant for five minutes about the importance of exercising your abs. Anyone watching this already knows that, just tell me the proper way to do a crunch!
Came here to watch a video on crunches because I wasn't sure I was doing it right. Found people arguing about shaving legs, camera angles, and armpit hair. Oh, Mondays on the Internet.
"If you're just starting do 8-12", lmao. I started yesterday and ended up doing 60 straight. But I couldn't get out of bed this morning so yeah... stick with 12
man if your doing them like her you better be able to do 500 of them no problem like what the fuck is that? its like doing push ups standing up while both hands are on a table lol
I love this tutorial! I have added this to my daily routine in addition to, push ups, weights and walking. I feel so much better when I start my day off. Thanks for the motivation!
I was thinking that the title of the video, "How To Do Crunches", was referring to how to eat a Nestlé Crunch candy bar to find the greatest enjoyment. My error.
Amy LR push using your abs, not your hands or head, that will most likely cause neck pain and won't work your stomach as much. (Might seem obvious but a lot of people try to do them without forcing with their abs)
As someone trying to get in shape for the first time, this channel has been great. No pitter patter intros, just straight to the point on the exercise.
I've just watched a video where Arnold says that 200 crunches a day is a must. That one shouldn't even start a day without doing 200 crunches when they get out of the bed. So I figured I should find out what are they and how to do them so I ended here. :) Thnx Arnlod for making my every day a bit harder. :)
Love how there isnt a long intro. It isnt overwhelming when I see the video is only like 2 minutes long. She gets right to the point. This was very helpful.
Winner of a video, I've been looking for "sit up techniques for abs" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Bondraw Firm Ferriferous - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend got great success with it.
Many thanks, I've been looking for "hanging sit up" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Bondraw Firm Ferriferous - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
Also, if you have too much neck strain, it could possibly be because you are not tightening your core enough. Anytime my neck hurts during crunches, I tighten my abs and it disappears.
I use to only be able to do 20 after having my son. Now I can do 100 :) This video really helped make sure I was doing it right - thank you! If some people feel like kicking it up a notch and targeting your lower abdominal muscles as well try bringing your knees towards you as you go upwards. You can feel it targeting the different muscles. I like to alternate 5 with knees up 5 without :)
I think that's a terrible idea for your back. The spine will mold into the shape of the matress. If I am wrong I ask anyone who really knows to correct me. As I may be wrong. But I think this is why you use a thin mat on the floor generally speaking or a bench with a hard structure under it.
I've done sit ups for months, I just tried 12 crunches and I'm already in way more pain than situps ever gave me at 12 (I can do like 20-30 situps without feeling much now)
I used to bend all the way to my knees, and been doing crunches like that for a year now, I could do 600 that way in about 25 minutes, and I did those twice a day. I've been having a pretty nice results, just now I tried doing those the proper way, like you showed on the video, and I could do like 50, but the main problem is I cannot breathe doing them this way, but I'll try to adjust, thanks for the help ^^
To do a good funktional crunch, you have to roll in further, meaning the lower back also have to leave the floor. But the hips/pelvic have to stay pressed in the floor, otherwise its gonna be a situp, and for those you need much more resistance than flat on the floor(you lose resistance wenn you go high enough because of gravity). But be careful you don't Arch the back while going up, always be as round as possible while crunching.
I've just started doing regular workouts everyday, I found regular sit-ups really hurt my back, so I changed to crunches which I have found is a lot less stress on the back. When lifting, concentrate on clenching your stomach muscles and you'll find you'll feel the muscles in your stomach aching (I'm really out of shape lo!) which is personally, how I knew that I wasn't hurting my own back, hope this helps :)
