      Amy LR push using your abs, not your hands or head, that will most likely cause neck pain and won't work your stomach as much. (Might seem obvious but a lot of people try to do them without forcing with their abs)

    To do a good funktional crunch, you have to roll in further, meaning the lower back also have to leave the floor. But the hips/pelvic have to stay pressed in the floor, otherwise its gonna be a situp, and for those you need much more resistance than flat on the floor(you lose resistance wenn you go high enough because of gravity). But be careful you don't Arch the back while going up, always be as round as possible while crunching.

    I've just started doing regular workouts everyday, I found regular sit-ups really hurt my back, so I changed to crunches which I have found is a lot less stress on the back. When lifting, concentrate on clenching your stomach muscles and you'll find you'll feel the muscles in your stomach aching (I'm really out of shape lo!) which is personally, how I knew that I wasn't hurting my own back, hope this helps :)

    Did 50 crunches non-stop first time with this technique and it felt like it was working the muscles a lot harder and faster than doing 150 sit-ups with a 10 sec interval at 75.

    serious question: what do 10 crunches what 10 situps do not do besides being easier ?
    to me crunches seem to be like situps light, or am i missing something ?

    • @shunpaw1492
      @shunpaw1492 7 лет назад +13

      13thmistral situps hurt your spine and might cause permanent damage on it including back pain. crunches are save and still provide about the same result as situps if done correctly as the lady shows in the video
