- If you are like me an acer laptop user.. you probally faced this problem. where there is no indicator LED on the laptop the tell you whether the caps lock and num lock are on or off.. In this video I'm gonna show you how to solve that problem by installing an official software from acer in a tricky way. just watch and follow and you'll fix that problem easily. ENJOY

96 (number might be different) >
Then just rename picture names so it just doesn't register name and it won't turn on that indicator.

So I even downloaded the Launch Manager for Windows 7 for another laptop, because mine has versions for Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 only. And it's working fine! Thank you, author!
The indicators worked when I had Windows 8.1 and continued to work when I upgraded to Windows 10, but I recently reinstalled Windows 10 and the indicators for num lock and caps lock stopped working. Good Thing I found this video.
I had to download the files from another website because Acer doesn't seem to have it anymore, but worked perfectly. Thank.
SORRY 4 CAPS LOCK BUT U NEED MY BEST THANKS as u DEFINITELY SOLVED my troubles with this matter that started some months ago, after that I even cleaned the whole pc and reinstalled Windows. Yr solution is the only valid one, I've found the file and installed following yr instructions and IT WORKS as I have my Caps/Num/Scroll/Functions indicators working again. Thank you so very much!

A really helpful video. I use a packard bell easynote TS11HR and after upgrading to windows 8 some years ago, had to deal with the annoying sound of caps lock in windows 8.1. I followed your steps and it was flawless. Thanks a lot.

I downloaded the exact model of your computer - following all the instructions, of course - and it worked in my CCE
Thanks, it works for me. I have an Aspire v3-772g with Windows 10 x64 and I installed the driver "LaunchManager_Dritek_5.1.15_W7x64_A.zip" for win 7 64bits of an Aspire v3-771g, following all the steps and it works like a charm on my Acer. ;)

I am sure you don't need this anymore, but you can simply uninstall Launch Manager

*** In my case the solution was different!!! I'll write in portuguese (my local language) then in (my pour) inglish:
Portuguese: no meu ES1-572 o que deu certo foi habilitar 'Quick Acess Service', aplicativo de driver da Acer. Veja se tem na sua máquina. O caminho é msconfig > serviços > Quick Acess Service. Habilite, reinicie a máquina e veja se funcionou. Caso não o encontre, é só baixar direto do site da Acer e instalar. O cadeado voltou pra mim fazendo deste último modo e nem precisou reiniciar. Acho que este QAS é o substituto do LaunchManager. Dica final: procure o seu driver pelo snid (código atrás da tampa do note) e não pela versão que está identificada ao lado do teclado.
Inglish: in my ES1-572 whats works to install or enable the 'Quick Acess Service', driver application's Acer. Path: msconfig > sevices > Quick Acess Service. Enable than reboot the windows. If you dont find the application in your pc, just download of acer's site and install. In this specific way, the screen padlock starts to works without the reboot. I guess that QAS is the replacement of LaunchManager.

UPDATE: It appears that I've prevented "Acer Quick Access" (QALauncher.exe) from running at start-up using "CCleaner". Allowing it to run at startup has brought back those notifications, and ran "QAAgent.exe" and "QAAdminAgent.exe" (and some other QA executables) together.
I'm using an Acer Swift 3 and I noticed that these on-screen notifications become available after launching "Acer Quick Access". The following two services (or executables, which can be seen under the "Details" section of Task Manager"), "QAAgent.exe" and "QAAdminAgent.exe" are responsible for showing those notifications, and when I terminated either of them, the notifications we're gone.
Also, these services (or executables), are not available in "Services", and simply setting the "Quick Access Service" service to run at start-up doesn't solve the problem. It appears that these are files that reside in the "Acer Quick Access" folder that's in the program files. Maybe a logon batch script could help run them at user logon?

HOW TO TURN IT OFF:
1.- Go to CONTROL PANEL.
2.- PROGRAMS/UNINSTALL A PROGRAM.
3.- Find ACER QUICK ACESS (should be the first on the list with a green icon)
4.- UNINSTALL
5.- Problem solved.

Oddly enough, my Acer laptop (Aspire 5734z) does have num lock and caps lock indicators built in, right next to the HDD indicator light. But the piece of trim at the top of the laptop covers them. So Acer bothered to build them into the machine, but completely hid them from the user. I ended up drilling holes in the trim right above them and putting hot glue in to act as a light guide and it work alright. I just found that to be quite odd.
It would be useful just the opposite for me, how do I disable that exact notification? I ccant do it from advanced display options, the window with the tip just wont appear.

@@mannypak3468 for me it was te logitech software that came with my mx master mouse. Couldn't find how, but reinstal fixed it

At 2:13, the drop-down for operating system does not offer anything except win10, and win 8.1. Win 10 is installed.
+Michael Post - However...installing the Quick Access application solved the problem. (There was no Launch Manager available for the model notebook/all-in-one I am using - Acer R3-131T) As the launch manager was already uninstalled, there were a few nervous minutes when it appeared it was not replaceable.
+Michael Post oh well thank you for your feedback.. I was looking for a solution and apparently the last working launch manager was on windows7 so the newest computers with new operating systems can't install it.. but thanx again for sharing the solution that u found

If you want to completely get rid of these notifications all you have to do is go into program files(x86) and delete the launch manager files however some files are locked in the system so you cant delete them so I would advise getting a program called unlocker, right-click the launch manager files on unlocker and go down to the button that says kill process and then you will be able to delete the files. Then reboot your system.

I dowloaded this application for my netbook (Aspire One D270) last year (cause I lost the original when I formatted, in 2013, and I thought it was a very useful application), so it is on 32-bit. It is dritek and the only one difference is that it is for XP and I have Windows 7.
First, I'll make a try installing it on my new Aspire V5-552-X814. If it doesn't work, I'll download the 64-bit version.
I have Windows 8 (pre-)installed on my new laptop, and Launch Manager is a bit different. Other combinations (wi-fi, screens, audio, etc..) work well, but the application doesn't show Caps Lock nor Touchpad on/off on screen (for Num Lock, I didn't try yet).

+Om Prakash if you check acer' website you''ll notice that they recommend you to install windows 8.1 or win 10 64bit not 32bit. this is just a side note to consider. and that might be the problem because you're installing Synaptics on a 32bit system while you've download it for a 64bit. So I suggest you install a fresh copy of either windows 8.1 ot 10 but a 64bit version.

To get back Caps Lock flash icon and NumLk flash icon in Win 10. Go to www.acer.com, click on 'support', click on 'drivers & manuals' download, then enter your notebook SNID or select the notebook, series and model number which will direct you to the download window. Click open Application to download and install 'Launch Manager' or 'Quick Access Application'. Problem fixed.

For those visiting in 2018 - This feature is included in Acer Quick Access software. So if you refreshed Windows 10 to remove all of Acer's bloatware. Re-install Quick Access to get this functionality back.

hello CrystalTuts I have windows10, and I had an update yesterday, my caps lock shows this annoying massage(ABC,abc) when I turn it on, plus my ingame FPS preformance is 60 unlike 120 like it used to be, and when I ctrl alt esc its a bit diffrent now a bit annoying as well, could you help me with these problems , or at least explain why this happend

I just got an Acer R7 572 and after selecting my laptop it doesn't have Windows 7 in the drop down, only 8, 8.1 and 10. Will this still work for my laptop somehow? This caps thing is really annoying. Hope you respond soon or I will need to get this returned. Thanks

How do I reverse that effect? I did the same thing as you did in the video, but suddenly, my lost indicator appeared in the upper half of the monitor again.

Unfortunately this doesn't work with my Acer V3-772G. My only options on the Acer driver screen are Win 10 and Win 8.1 in the operating system pulldown.
