It means “Spun In gold”. Faroe Islands is a self-governing part of Denmark, like Greenland . They stayed in the union with Denmark when Norway left and become a independent state in 1814. And yes, Eivør is fantastic!

I attended her concert in Hamburg last week and it was truely magical. This song was in the set as well. Simply amazing and mesmerizing.

Hi Ginger, Hi Mike... I saw Eivor live in Cologne last Friday... and it was MAGICAL ! Gullspunnin (which translates to "spun in gold") is one of my favourite Eivor songs, especially THIS version here. Thanks for reacting to Eivor again... I enjoyed every moment of this reaction video. Krakan off of the album of the same name is one of my favorites but it's impossible to pick just one.
The Faroe Islands are not part of Scandinavia. Scandinavia is only Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
But it's part of the Nordic countries.

when i first listened to courage i had to look twice to realize it's really her, because it is so different from what she usually does. and i never thought that the nobel prize commitee would pick her, the princess of doom.

I only wish she would sing in English, that firstly I understand what she sings and secondly I could sing along if I wanted to.

We made a decision early on that we will not be pausing. If a video gets blocked, so be it. Neither of us like the interruption in the flow of the music, and we still have plenty of videos that make it thru just fine - G
