I'm really enjoying the content. Especially the building, binge watched from ep.1 over the past few days to catch up. I know you said you wanted more compression out of the suspension, so if you were to cut your suspension arms and extend them by a block or two, maybe by using merge blocks or simply reconnecting the hinges while holding the whole assembly with the welder ship. That would get you a good bit more droop and travel, however it would be even wider lol
I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying the series, I did consider making the suspension arms wider but it does make it wider like you said and I didn’t want to go any wider, I do have a solution to increase the suspension travel however so it all good
Use the industrial refinery as stairs in some places so it is pulling double duty. Also I still think that the rover could work well as a kind of driving aircraft carrier!
I was a little shocked that you ground down the first attempt but have to say I think I prefer this latest suspension. I cant wait to see how this turns out.
I think at this point you just need to make tracks 😉 (please try tracks some time :) ) Also why don’t you use the build planner? It’s super useful, you can order exactly what you need made into assemblers and draw out exactly what components you need with simple single button presses, splisies got a great tutorial on it :) Oh you used it later on mb ;)
in order to guarantee all wheels on land cant you also have hinges in the middle like a snek? Preferably only vertical hinges, sideways hinges like a train might be bad for several reasons, Clang. Though, I just tried this and subgrid wheels do not obey steering of the front wheels do they.... hmmm.
I know this is kind of late, but ... the problem you had placing the wheel above the first swing arm pair - instead of going lower, could you have just powered the bottom hinge, detached the top one, then moved the arm lower and removed some of the blast door edges on the top to get the collision box clearance? I'm just curious because I don't know if the position of the 1x1 wheel matters, lower down or higher up on the arm? Also, why don't you use mirroring when building this beast?
Your suspension systems always amaze. Excited to see the rest come together!
Thanks
I think it's a fitting name, like a Phoenix this rover came back from it's ashes better and stronger than before. Nice job

Can't wait to see what you've decided
Great video. I had my go at a custom suspension once, but at a much smaller scale. Excited to see how this turns out.

Yea I like the idea, I might try to go with a up armoured futuristic aircraft carrier design

Yea I was the same to be honest, I really didn’t want to grind away so much work, but it doses look very cool now
now this is tada!
Looking good. Can't see why it will not work. Interesting placement of that bottom floor. You could do a tail lift off the back for a small rover.
Thanks, yea i have a few ideas

I think this sort of suspension is bad enough for the game, mix tracks in to it would probably end very badly :/
Boys I think he was thinking of the word procrastinate

I did think about that but I the suspension should be able to deal with 90% of it

Does a suspension system like this require a script to make the wheels work since they’re on a sub-grid?
Yea, you need a subgrid wheel control script
did u know the mod eden wrath
ive never tried it, but have heard of it before. Why do you ask?
@@quantumchief idk, i been playing it and it's amazing, i just wanted to share the info, u should give it a try
