The large cargo containers could look like a huge cargo bay. What if instead of covering them with half blocks, you replace a bunch with grating or catwalks? Maybe add some handrails. You could show the exposed cargo conveyors that unload each ship dock and lines overhead feeding the refineries and grinder pit. A big industrial grinder pit would be great for processing destroyed drones. Could have a little remote controlled drone with grinders and pads for lifting junk into the pit. Might be fun if lights and sirens sound when the pit turns on.
Simple but some small emergency quick access ladders along the grid to get to the different decks aswell as main staircase/s Also the solar panels look great and if you can lower the turrets that might look better, I’d make custom ones Also at 44:00-45:00 you changed the placement of the heavy armour placement location from between the heavy armour to ontop of the heavy armour for the second line of it :)
Great channel mate! I subbed halfway through the first video I watched of yours, Ep 28 I think, then rolled back to this episode so I can see your custom suspension (I'm a new player on PS5 and am still working basic things out - and want a custom suspension rig for my cargo truck, but couldn't work it out for myself )..... I'm glad its going well for you, its really refreshing to find a channel thats not all shouty and loud to attract viewers.. I like your articulate way of talking, and intelligent approach to builds, nice and calm, cerebral, and inspiring.. Keep it up!!
Thanks I appreciate it, I’m not sure how it works on console when it comes to use of scripts as for me to drive the wheels I’ll have to use a sub grid wheel control script
Rotate the solar panels above the fighter bays by 90 degrees in the horizontal, you then can fit two there with a conveyor between them for either a top connector on a ship or a turret above the hanger or even both!
@@quantumchief according to Splitsies tests, a few years ago, 3 large grid blocks for the large grid welder... The small grid, 1 large grid block as i recall, but definitely could use a retest... Been 2 or 3 DLC drops since then. Just seems like ya got a fairly robust cargo system goin in, may as well take advantage... Maybe a projector as well just in case. Thought i saw one though
To heavy dude! Save the heavy armour for critical area's like your bridge and the blocks immediately surrounding turrets. Make all your internal decks from interior blocks, they are considerably lighter and look good. One layer of heavy armour is enough. Also, the 8 blocks around your docks, extending to your hanger door, make them blast blocks, blast blocks are immune to thruster damage, and they're 500kg lighter than heavy armour. I could easily see this reaching 20,000 tons, you're going to need at least 6-8 large thrusters just for forward movement, and at least 4 reverse with parachute assisted braking, probably 3 parachutes. All this in itself is going to add a lot more weight. My largest rover (ruclips.net/video/DFs-_3Ipr-o/видео.html), with part load, and all the docks occupied is pushing 7,900 tons, and it take a bit to get that moving. I would love it if Keen would do a 1x1 solar panel, and half panel, large and small grid. I would not worry to much about damage, main things to protect are bridge, suspension and cargo, everything else is not essential. As long as you have stores to rebuild, ability to move, and a means to control, those are the key factors.

not bad ideas at all, i defiantly want to something like that for the grinder pit, but the cat walk over the cargo bay is a grate idea
@@quantumchiefthat is a grate pun, I like it... Now on to watching the video and making my own giant rover...
how nice to see your channel grow.. awsome to watch another video ty bro
another great suspension, what a cool project!

Love the suspension. Love the content
Another great video
Those colourable solar panels can be useful as part of floors/landing pads as well. Functional structure.
Love your building style, I really strive to do similar stuff
it's fun...ermhhhhh it's fun. love it
Yes, that’s just my Yorkshire dialect coming out

i enjoy your content
Looks great so far. What are the scripts you have running on your construction ship displays?
you can use interior walls for a cheaper flooring it will be weaker than light armor but it will add detail, weighs less, and be cheaper
11:13 I wana see that ^^
and maybe add hangerdoor covered solarpanels?
If you used the paintable panels, could put guns and panels on the roof... Just a thought
Looks fine how ya got it... Have ya reckoned on autorepairs via grid welders in strategic locations on this thing yet?
To be honest i haven't, i would have to do some testing to see what sort of range they have but not a bad idea for something to implement

This is clearly on a private server as that new rover makes use of a lot of high PCU parts in it's suspension.

Good to know commenting helps the algorithm that much
no hydrogen engine for power?
I am commenting on your comment about commenting. Cheers
Is it possible for you to not point at something by spinning your character's head around in circles? It can be very dizzying.
Yes, I don’t do it on purpose but I can try
11:13 I wana see that ^^
