@@thomaskeuning15 Ahh, so extremely bad luck. And as you said, it was due to a brake failure. That can happen to anyone at any time, especially with vehicles like this, and on a race track. But i bet he still isn't going 100% into it.
People say modern F1 is harder because of G forces....Maybe so, but the cars back in the 70s and 80s took every ounce of energy to keep them on the track and in a straight line. Nonstop sawing at the wheel, suicidal tracks, no power steering, low downforce, manual gear boxes. A scary era.
@AZtronomy I saw a video quite a while back, showing an F1 driver's feet operating the pedals. I was absolutely floored at the level of motion and coordination required to drive these cars.
They still don't have power steering nor ABS or traction control. The pedals and wheel are still extremely difficult to operate but the physical effort comes mainly from the G forces. Both eras of cars are physically demanding but in different ways.
@@stargazer2312 id argue G forces were more to deal with back in the 80s. Half your body was hanging out of the car. You have no sidewall to rest your body on as you’re taking a corner. Oh, and if you crash you had to legitimately worry about dying.
@@robnunya572 If you think todays F1 cars are ugly, cast your mind back to 2007 - 2008 when they all looked like someone crashed them through a car accessories shop and wings stuck to them on every available surface. They looked like they had leprosy.
wow, all of these jump cuts every 3 damn seconds with super wide angles are horrendous. please, just upload the lap from a single cam with a normal FOV, ffs.

Wow what an amazing moment. Would be a shame if he crashed such a priceless car
I bet he knows what he’s doing.
Ouch... 💰💰💰
He would never crash it.
He might drive it around the track at 60-70% of what is possible because i don't think he would even consider risking it.
@@DanielFrost79 he crashed it last year during the classic gran prix because of a brake failure

You cut out the expensive part
lol
A genuine LOL
tbf, the crash was due to a brake faliure, or so they say
@@XenonArcher There are photo's taken moments before the crash, that shows the brake pads falling off.
@@KayoMichiels well there ya go. not seen those photo's but if you can literally see the pads then yeah, cant really blame leclerc there xD
What a gorgeous car and no less than a current F1 driver at the wheel!! I’m sure nothing could ruin this awesome moment 😃
This one wont break down... Very nice car and sound.
It did, brakes failed and he crashed due to that.

One hand on the wheel when shifting as well.
@@mightylonesome9426 and I assume they had to rev match perfectly and really work those 3 pedals.

The V12 sounds insane
Not a V12, but a flat-12. But yes, it sounds very, very well
ROFL they cut out the bit where he binned it. 😂
he didn't binned it.. the brake pads fell off...
mechanical issue, that guy can't catch a break with Ferrari
A REAL F1 car, from the great days of the sport. I just wish you'd a longer clip available. Wonderful stuff :-)
Come on, you guys just cut the most brilliant part out 💸💸💸
Well that sounds a whole lot better than today's F1 cars.
Looks a whole lot better, too.

Now THAT is content!
*Ferrari take notes.
If F1 went back to cars like this again, it might be worth watching
Stunning car, stunning brake failure
Why can't we get normal cameras anymore..? These 360 create weird transitions and don't give off correct perspective
there are two differnet cars edited into that clip, the B3 and the earlier B2
Just wondering, why is the colour of his racing suit different at the one minute mark ??
1:21 What is this larger 2" hose for? I don't ever remember seeing it.
Looks to come from the fuel cell, so I'd assume it's a fuel supply hose? Does seem a tad big for that though
What a priceless car originally driven by one of the goats now being driven again hope nothing bad happens…
Let's see who will feel the need to bring up the crash while leaving the I'd say crucial part about it which was the break failure
Bring back that soundtrack to modern cars
there is also jacky with the B2
Amazing car
Maybe this’ll be the year 😆
on Avons.. but for how much longer?
That's the way F1 cars should sound.
My Dream: F1 with Stickshift and V10
That would the McLaren MP4/5, that had a V10 and a manual transmission
can't stay with one camera shot for longer than 3 seconds?
Nice

Two drivers or same with different suits??
Was this the one he shunted into the armco? 🙈
yep. rear brake faliure i think.
main issue with old f1 cars like that. anything could brake at any time
❤
The noise wow, stick the modern stuff
That sounds like 2019 mercedes to me.
I won't say it.. I won't do it...
Actually had to drive the thing 😅
The one that he crashed...
Rear Brake Caliper Failure. Not his fault at all
Shows the difference between the old crop and the new. Couldn’t even stay out of the barriers driving it at 50%. Useless
