      Scored 17 points in his entire career while driving a champioinship winning car in 94.
      He was also dropped 2 races before the season ended.
      Sainz Sr. on the other hand seems much more capeable.

    I got so emotional watching this, especialy when Sr. started thanking the team. Thank you, Fred, for allowing Carlos (and his father) to have such an incredible, well-deserved and honourable goodbye from the team. I wish it wasn't so, but at least Ferrari gave a master-class in how to properly and respectfully say farewell. Grazie Carlos, forza Ferrari

    Not many people know that Carlos Sr. did a test with the Toyota GT-One for LeMans. He was driving back in the day for the second time in his career for Toyota. They say he impressed the LeMans Toyota team but declined an offer to race the 24h race since he was a title contender for the WRC that year. It's impressive to see him still in active and winning Dakars, like time doesn't affect two-time Spanish world champions.

    Man, that is a good looking car.
    In that early season the F1 cars were much different betwen them than today, and the Ferrari shape concept was one of the most beautiful ones.

    Carlos Sainz was always one of my favorite drivers, I always encouraged him in the Argentine Rallys, I remember how it happened with the Toyota and it gives me goosebumps, he is also a champion in the Dakar, and I think that in any category he ran he would It would be good, I bet that if he were 20 years old and they put him to race in an F1 he would be faster than his son even! one of the best Spanish drivers in history without a doubt.

    vida, no hay equipo como ellos en F1 🏎️i🇮🇹.

    I got so emotional watching this, im quite young and i started to watch f1 the year before Carlos entered Ferrari, at that point i wasn’t really a fan of any team, the year that Carlos entered Ferrari i became a fan, the duo Charlos is the best one and one that im never going to forget. When Sir Carlos thanked the team i really got emotional because i imagine that is something awesome for any car fanatic and his son. I just need to say this Forza Ferrari always, im going to miss you in this team Carlos, but you will always be a great driver.

    Carlos, vi a tu padre conducir en el rally RAC en el Reino Unido en su día. Qué conductor tan talentoso. ¡Inmeso lo vi hace un par de años en el rally Dakar en Perú! Sigue conduciendo como un campeón.

    Thank you Carlos for sharing this well deserved present not only for a legend still on duty like your amazing father but for you with your attitude and efforts with the scuderia Ferrari. Your journey with the reds is over but not finished. I'm confident and quite sure about it. Next season you'll be pushing as hard as possible to continue your dream. And thanks to Fred for such a brilliant idea of having father and son on Fiorano track. Those things only make greater the name Ferrari and their people working there.     Eres un digno hijo de tu padre, Carlos. Él y Luis nos hicieron saltar de emoción tanto en las cunetas viéndoles pasar, como en el sofá de casa viendo aquellos onboard del Canal+, allá en los 90.
    Precioso vídeo. Ya sólo falta verte a ti en el asiento del copiloto con tu padre, sea en el coche del Dakar o corriendo algún rally por ahí, porque si eres capaz de leerle las notas como hacía el bueno de Luis Moya, ya te encumbras.
    Mucha, mucha suerte la próxima temporada. Sois el orgullo de cualquier aficionado español.

      ​@@chipsawdust5816 That's why I say he's a worthy son of his Dad. Sainz Sr broke all the existing molds in rallying, back in his day. Back then there were "specialists" in every surface, be it gravel or tarmac. Sainz Sr was the first one able to beat them all, the first non Nordic to win in Finland and Sweden, and then heading to Greece or Corsica and win in gravel and tarmac. He had class and manners inside and outside of the car, and was, to many, the best driver of his time.
      Sainz Jr falls anywhere short.

Your father, famous in his own right, doesn’t try to be in the spotlight because he wants his son to have it. To put your own pride aside for our children, that’s being a true parent

    This was such an emotional rollercoaster! Can we take a moment to just bow down in front of Sainz Sr?! My god I really went like WHAAATTTT?!!! This is don’t blink is such a joy to watch!     i really think Ferrari messed up by letting Carlos go. Carlos is one of the least maintenance drivers around. Ferrari had the best driver duo with Carlos and Charles on the grid. AND they let Carlos go for Hamilton, who might take away more resources from Charles as a number two. Like it baffles me why they made this move. GOOD LUCK WITH WILLIAMS, CARLOS! YOU DESERVE THE BEST!

    Es un regalo precioso, enhorabuena a Fred por proponerlo. Espero que guardes mayoría de buenos recuerdos en Ferrari, Carlos. Que decir del "viejo" que se ha pegado no se cuantas vueltas en un f1, cuando el resto de seres humanos no aguantaríamos ni media docena. Leyenda del deporte motorizado.

    Por estás cosas Carlos, es que los tifosi jamás te diremos adiós.
    Hasta luego ya suena una eternidad, pero supongo que lo mismo habrá sentido tu padre el día que supo serías piloto Ferrari.
    En Argentina tenemos un profundo respeto por la familia, que es lo más importante, más allá de la empatía que uno pueda sentir por alguien.
    Escucharte guiando a tu padre para conducir un F1 no como piloto, sino como hijo resulta conmovedor y muy bello de apreciar.

    As a lifelong Hamilton fan, I found this to be a lot more meaningful than what Mercedes did. It was pure and truly captured the essence of “everyone is a Ferrari fan”. Plus, what a historic moment for racing! Truly class act by Ferrari!❤
