I only drink water, and I add ACV but that's it...I IF 5 days a week and water fast on the weekend. I'm off all diabetes meds and off blood pressure meds... fasting is the best gift you can give your body...
I am off the diabetes meds, but not the blood pressure ones yet. I have to re-focus on IF w/out sugar or hwc. I have been at a stall. Congrats that's great you've been able to achieve that. I hope to say the same in the near future.

I've been fasting on and off since January. My blood insulin level is way too high. UGH. Now I know why!!! Sweetener in my coffee and in my tea! AND that's why my weight loss has been at a crawl for months. Thank you!!!
Hi Dr Berry! What do you think about the flavored waters without sweeteners...such as Dasani, Bubly, Perrier (grapefruit flavor is my favorite), St Croix? They contain "natural flavors" which are ambiguously defined. No sweeteners though like other brands. Thanks!
Salt water works wonders for me. I also put a small lump of Himalayan pink salt under my tongue when I’m hungry. Something about it just makes my brain think I’ve eaten. 😁

Something else I can do to help me through the fasting window is go for a walk down my very steep 350 metre driveway. When I get back up the top eating is the last thing on my mind.
I fast exclusively with water and black coffee in the mornings. I also add salt, magnesium drops, and iodine drops to one cup of my morning coffee. Works great! Thanks for all your videos and the constant flow of information that you give!!!

Drinking pickle juice right now and WOW! I feel so much better! My head was killing me 😩! Less than 4 hours left in my 24hr fast and my body was screaming for salt! 🙌🏾💖
It's more likely that the sodium chloride in the pickle juice stopped the headache. Unless it was sweet pickles. Then the sugar probably did break her fast. But you lose salt when you go into ketosis. A half-teaspoon of salt, mixed with some water will often do the trick.

Hi Dr Berry Mine is my own home made Rooibos iced tea🙂!!! I also drink a lot of Japanese Sencha and MATCHA Green tea. Also drink straight Oolong tea and Chamomile tea which I actually grow in my own garden🙂. I am a former athlete who has been stagnant for years due to a serious injury. I have found with a daily intermittent fast of 16 and 8 and drinking these teas on top of my 3 day keto and 4 day Carnivore diet the weight I put on is just melting away without literally no effort and very moderate exercise 👍.
I've stopped putting cream in my bulletproof coffee and now just use a tablespoon of butter and MCT oil. I'm going to ween those two down to a teaspoon of each. I must say the secret to bulletproof coffee is the blending process. It gives the coffee a beautiful crema and binds the ingredients together for hours.
Better late than never … I am just seeing this. And it’s magic. I want to do more intermittent fasting again, but I can’t give up my coffee because the side effects aren’t worth it. So lately I have seen you put butter in your coffee, and now I hear butter and salt, and it’s not bad for fasting. Well, sounds like a game changer to me!!
New England Journal of Medicine says coffee while intermittent fasting actually seems to encourage autophagy. I'm sure they did not mean you could have cream and sweeteners with it, but...
This sounds encouraging....although I don't particularly trust mainstream doctors, dietitians and magazines....once dr. Berry gets the truth of it....then I'll believe!
I only have coffee (black) and water, and I eat one meal a day usually around 6:30. I'm very lucky in that I did a lot of fasting when I was younger, and I have zero issues with hunger. I've had plenty of issues with my esophagus (eosinophilic esophagitis) and likely have celiac (two of my sons have it, confirmed by biopsy, but I now don't eat enough wheat to get a definitive test) - all of my issues with swallowing related to this have completely gone away. It's as if the botttom of my esophagus has just disappeared - no more lumpy, "is this going to go down?" type feelings.
@ChistopherMurtagh I also had issues with swallowing supplements and some foods before starting Keto. Now I can swallow hand fulls of supplements without any problems. I noticed the improvement within the first month or two of starting Keto.
Thank you for this video. I was fasting with just black coffee. I brought some collagen protein powder and was adding it to my coffee. I will stop and not add it until I break my fast. I have been doing ACV and a big glass of water 1st thing when I get up. I stopped sugar and junk foods on July 7, 23. I have lost 32 lbs so far on keto and 2 weeks I have not ate any veggies. Added more fat and protein. Still learning. Feel a lot better.

Great video!!!! I just came off of a 16 day water + salted tea fast and added pink salt into my tea before I heat the water helped me feel energized and focused. If I started feeling weak I drank another cup of salted green tea and felt great again. Also, you are looking younger every video. Keep up the great work and setting a great example for us to follow

My favorite fasting drink is black coffee, salt (pinch) and a teaspoon of butter. That flavor is magic for me, and I go to bed actually looking forward to that in the morning.
This was extremely helpful. 14 days into ketovore and starting IF. I found out the hard way about stevia. I was a week in and finally had gotten over the worse the the sugar cravings. I had had a morning “keto” drink with stevia. Big mistake. My sugar cravings came roaring back and I had a couple of days of withdrawals again. So, I would definitely think stevia impacts my insulin levels. Won’t use it again.
When I have the time, I fast on weekends and drink water (240 per day) to detox myself. [Do so because I work as a security guard and can't spend a couple of hours in tge bath room, :-) ] I use vitamins on those days only, and then I keep busy. By the way, thank you for your vid on skin tags... the one I've had for decades has all but disappeared. I must remember to stop eating carbs and sugars to access. Two of the best and cheapest. I drink green tea in the morning and have now tried adding coconut oil or butter per your suggestion. Really helps and I have no problem eating my first meal at lunch (never am hungry when I get up anyway until an hour or so later). That gives me a 14 to 16 hour intermittant fast. I finally started keto because of your videos 4 days now. No cravings, either! Thank you for your work. Love your style!
In this video does he say that coconut oil or butter in your coffee/tea doesn't break a fast? If he says that he's incorrect....I'll watch it now to see what you're referring to.
Wow this is all very good to know. I guess starting tomorrow, I won't be using sweeteners with my coffee. Also I'll be sure to try tea with butter today just to see how it tastes like but I know I broke my fast this morning. But hey tomorrow is another day! Now I know about this, I can apply it to my everyday fasting. It is also good thing that I am no longer doing the lemon water thing!
My fasting guidance started using a formula called snake juice. It pretty much minerals (salt), and it keeps me going. I test different things out, adding butter to my coffee (which doesn't break my fast) and other things to see if it breaks my fast. It's fun to experiment with adding and subtracting different items to see which works and what doesn't. But for my regular 24, 48+ fast, I stick to minerals in water and coffee/tea only.
Thank you for very clear, no-nonsense information. I am thinking for some time now to incorporate IF, but your videos made up my mind. When you mentioned the brain's response to something sweet, and also to chewing, i realized that i am a big culprit by chewing sugarfree gum... often during the day... and it seems that it has quite the opposite effect.
My goal is to up my libido and get rid of this pot belly. Fasting will probably be the most difficult at first since I'm a habitual snacker (potato chips, dry cereal, Oreo cookies, Ritz crackers etc) But I'm going to give it a try. I will eat my bacon breakfast at 6AM this morning and try not to eat anything until supper at 6-7PM give or take. Thanks again Doc!!!

I was having coffee with heavy cream and alternate sweetener but I don’t really like the flavor of the sweetener and so I started skipping coffee twice a week and I noticed that I don’t really miss it so I think I am just going to give up the coffee completely. One question is it ok to do this fasting everyday?
I use Ultima lemonade electrolytes zero everything in my water I only use a third of a packet to change the taate of the bottled water I hope that will work I have never fasted and am also concerned about the insulin I have to use daily to maintain my blood sugars I have also just started Keto in the hope of being able to stop all my meds in the near future Weight los is a plus Thank you for being here your video's have been a big help
Dr Berry: I’m new here but love your channel. Day 10, and able to eat only during 2 hour window. On fast, only water but ACV in the morning and before bed, for bladder health, gout, and toe fungus. Getting blood work in a week as part of annual physical, and looking forward to blood sugar numbers. Previous blood work has been good, but I’m excited to lose weight. Started at 230, now 205, goal 199 or less.

Thank you for clearing up some of my confusion. It seems like everyone who has advice on the ketogenic diet has a different answer when it comes to what's acceptable during a fast. I really just need to stick with water and MCT oil. Apparently, I haven't been fasting at all this whole time, because someone else said bone broth was ok. This may be why I've stalled.

I used to put a splash of heavy cream in my coffee, but I found that when I reduced it to a tsp with a tsp of MCT, that I started to get thinner again.
My fav fasting liquid is ... COFFEE but NOW I know i have to drink ONLY WATER IF I want to attain Atophegee. When I do an Atophegee Fast ... can I still take my heart meds ? ( 25 mg Carvedilol + 25mg Spironolactone) I just started the Ketovore diet 8 days ago and lost 6 pounds so far. I am never hungry . :) I only eat at 2 pm and -6pm. daily. . Back when I was doing heavy labor, and living on black coffee, I was never more naturally fit and energetic in my life! The coffee did suppress my appetite. I still had to eat, but I didn't eat as much as my coworkers, who all got fat as hell, even doing same work, because they would all eat and snack so much.
My ancients only fasted on pure water , they occasionally added salt they believed good for hydration, beside it, just plain water. Some videos on website suggested acv, add fresh lemon slices in water, coffee, tea.....to curb hunger. It's good for people who find fasting is too hard to follow. It sounds making sense to ease hunger and craving by including these drinks during fasting window. But for many people the coffee, teas, plain lemon water, acv irritate your digestive to make them uncomfortable with a roaring guts. That's the reason why the Asian fasting recommended only water occasionally added salt, the hymalayan salt, NOT table salt.. please do some additional research on Dr Fung videos. Thank you Dr Ken for these precious information that help the world. Every information I get online from doctors and experts helps to greatly improve my health and others. Ali Indrawan I do two meals. I fast 19 hours. I eat my first meal at 1pm and 2nd meal at 6pm. I drink coffee with no sugar and mineral water in the morning and keep busy throughout the day.
I fast with ACV ( 1-2 TBS) mixed with 8 oz of green tea mixed and with a Tbs of psyllium fiber (which has a trace amount of tureric in it) mixed into the ACV green tea mixture. Sometimes I nibble a small slice of ginger root (1-2 grams).
I use a pat of Kerry gold salted butter and a tbsp of mct oil in my big cup of coffee every morning and then I don’t eat anything until about 11 am. It’s working for me. I look forward to it every morning.
Glenda Last Dr Berry just taught us that all sweeteners break a fast because they release an insulin response. Depends on what your goal is. Autophagy? Water only! (with electrolytes, look up snake juice recipe)
@@cathylarson54 I haven't watched this video yet, but no matter what you consume your insulin will be spiked unless it's something like water or BLACK coffee. That's including butter coffee.
Talking of pickle water, I use some of liquid from sauerkraut to bolster the warm water I normally rely on. Taken on an empty stomach, the bacteria within will stand the best chance of getting through your stomach in one piece. The cabbage itself can wait for later.

Make sure to get Japanese green tea if you're using green tea. Just a tip it's the best quality without any harmful pesticides. As for the coffee you can also add in coconut oil and a pinch of cinnamon.

My fasting liquid of choice is coffee with 1 TBS of MCT oil, a pinch of sea salt, 1/2 tsp unsweetened cacao, 1/2 tsp mushroom powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp maca powder. I don’t think that meaningfully breaks my fast and helps me easily do a 16:8 intermittent fasting pattern... sometimes 18:6. I've been doing well with that for about a year now. Your thoughts?

I started with water in the morning, then a cup of black coffee, then sipping on cold water with a green tea bag in my cup. About 3pm I was thinking now is lunch time. I started with a cup of bone broth and felt good and was thinking now I can wait until 6 pm to eat and just have one meal today. I went searching for information on bone broth and fasting and came across this video. After watching this I might as well go eat my salad and salmon, since there seems little point to waiting another 3 hrs before eating.
So glad I watched this after your video post a few minutes ago. I am pretty much a newbie to real fasting. Listening to internet “experts” can certainly throw you many curves. Like Stevia is ok during your fast. For me, my goals are twofold. One is weight loss, about 75-80 lbs. But also, which is most important, to achieve autophagy for better health.
Hi there. I love your videos as they are very informative. I've been doing a 16/8 intermittent fast for about 3 weeks now. I eat between 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. After that, I fast with water and at around 10:30 pm I have a cup of hot water with some freshly made lemon juice. (About 1 tbsp of lemon juice) and in the morning at around 10:30 am, I have a cup of lemon/ginger herbal tea with a bit of lemon juice. This works for me. I know I'm not supposed to eat bread and cereal but I do. After a long fast, I cannot stomach meat so I break my fast at noon with either cereal or a sandwich of some sort. At dinner time I have my meat and veggies. For me, meat once a day is enough. I did however lose 5 lbs. Thank you for your very informative videos.
My favorite fasting liquid: about 1/4 cup of coffee in my 32 oz water vessel with a bit of ice of course. It helps me tremendously. If that fails sometimes just a smidgen of Kerrygold butter will help. I have completed 3 72 hour fasts over a 3 month period and look forward to the next.
I just did a 24 hour fast and I was worried but I did great!!! I drank coffee and hot tea to suppressed my hunger all day! Wow it's easier than I thought to fast all day. I feel great! It's amazing! I cannot believe I've never tried it before. I got scared at first but I did it today and I feel wonderful. I have so much energy! I even did a quick jog or run for half an hour and not feeling exhausted or tire. Wow I'm gonna do it again but gonna try 2-3 days next time.
Iʻm starting my 48-hour fast (well, started it last night at 9) and this morning Iʻm drinking black coffee with a half teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon stirred in. Dr. Berg talked recently about the weight loss benefit of Ceylon cinnamon. Iʻm 65, keto full-time since July 2017, LOVE the heavy whipping cream, which now, okay, Iʻm quitting for a while, because I still have the belly fat that hasnʻt budged since early 2018.

Hi Dr Berry! What do you think about the flavored waters without sweeteners...such as Dasani, Bubly, Perrier (grapefruit flavor is my favorite), St Croix? They contain "natural flavors" which are ambiguously defined. No sweeteners though like other brands. Thanks!

Salt water works wonders for me. I also put a small lump of Himalayan pink salt under my tongue when I’m hungry. Something about it just makes my brain think I’ve eaten. 😁

I fast exclusively with water and black coffee in the mornings. I also add salt, magnesium drops, and iodine drops to one cup of my morning coffee. Works great! Thanks for all your videos and the constant flow of information that you give!!!

If your headache stopped it may be because the pickle juice broke your fast so you stopped detoxing. Sorry.
It's more likely that the sodium chloride in the pickle juice stopped the headache. Unless it was sweet pickles. Then the sugar probably did break her fast. But you lose salt when you go into ketosis. A half-teaspoon of salt, mixed with some water will often do the trick.
I drink hot tea to suppress my hunger. It works great!!!

Mine is my own home made Rooibos iced tea🙂!!! I also drink a lot of Japanese Sencha and MATCHA Green tea.
Also drink straight Oolong tea and Chamomile tea which I actually grow in my own garden🙂.
I am a former athlete who has been stagnant for years due to a serious injury.
I have found with a daily intermittent fast of 16 and 8 and drinking these teas on top of my 3 day keto and 4 day Carnivore diet the weight I put on is just melting away without literally no effort and very moderate exercise 👍.
I've stopped putting cream in my bulletproof coffee and now just use a tablespoon of butter and MCT oil. I'm going to ween those two down to a teaspoon of each.
I must say the secret to bulletproof coffee is the blending process. It gives the coffee a beautiful crema and binds the ingredients together for hours.
Stevia is out.I guess I'll just stick with water.
I am now going to stop putting heavy cream in my coffee and just use raw coconut butter

So lately I have seen you put butter in your coffee, and now I hear butter and salt, and it’s not bad for fasting. Well, sounds like a game changer to me!!
New England Journal of Medicine says coffee while intermittent fasting actually seems to encourage autophagy. I'm sure they did not mean you could have cream and sweeteners with it, but...
This sounds encouraging....although I don't particularly trust mainstream doctors, dietitians and magazines....once dr. Berry gets the truth of it....then I'll believe!
I only have coffee (black) and water, and I eat one meal a day usually around 6:30. I'm very lucky in that I did a lot of fasting when I was younger, and I have zero issues with hunger. I've had plenty of issues with my esophagus (eosinophilic esophagitis) and likely have celiac (two of my sons have it, confirmed by biopsy, but I now don't eat enough wheat to get a definitive test) - all of my issues with swallowing related to this have completely gone away. It's as if the botttom of my esophagus has just disappeared - no more lumpy, "is this going to go down?" type feelings.
@ChistopherMurtagh I also had issues with swallowing supplements and some foods before starting Keto. Now I can swallow hand fulls of supplements without any problems. I noticed the improvement within the first month or two of starting Keto.
Thank you for this video. I was fasting with just black coffee. I brought some collagen protein powder and was adding it to my coffee. I will stop and not add it until I break my fast. I have been doing ACV and a big glass of water 1st thing when I get up. I stopped sugar and junk foods on July 7, 23. I have lost 32 lbs so far on keto and 2 weeks I have not ate any veggies. Added more fat and protein. Still learning. Feel a lot better.

Great video!!!! I just came off of a 16 day water + salted tea fast and added pink salt into my tea before I heat the water helped me feel energized and focused. If I started feeling weak I drank another cup of salted green tea and felt great again. Also, you are looking younger every video. Keep up the great work and setting a great example for us to follow

I use MCT oil in my black coffee. I’ve noticed thou stomach aches sometimes when I put in MCT oil. Not sure why.

This was extremely helpful. 14 days into ketovore and starting IF. I found out the hard way about stevia. I was a week in and finally had gotten over the worse the the sugar cravings. I had had a morning “keto” drink with stevia. Big mistake. My sugar cravings came roaring back and I had a couple of days of withdrawals again. So, I would definitely think stevia impacts my insulin levels. Won’t use it again.
When I have the time, I fast on weekends and drink water (240 per day) to detox myself. [Do so because I work as a security guard and can't spend a couple of hours in tge bath room, :-) ]
I use vitamins on those days only, and then I keep busy.
By the way, thank you for your vid on skin tags... the one I've had for decades has all but disappeared.
I must remember to stop eating carbs and sugars to access. Two of the best and cheapest. Drat it.

I drink green tea in the morning and have now tried adding coconut oil or butter per your suggestion. Really helps and I have no problem eating my first meal at lunch (never am hungry when I get up anyway until an hour or so later). That gives me a 14 to 16 hour intermittant fast. I finally started keto because of your videos 4 days now. No cravings, either! Thank you for your work. Love your style!

Wow this is all very good to know. I guess starting tomorrow, I won't be using sweeteners with my coffee. Also I'll be sure to try tea with butter today just to see how it tastes like but I know I broke my fast this morning. But hey tomorrow is another day! Now I know about this, I can apply it to my everyday fasting. It is also good thing that I am no longer doing the lemon water thing!

My fasting guidance started using a formula called snake juice. It pretty much minerals (salt), and it keeps me going. I test different things out, adding butter to my coffee (which doesn't break my fast) and other things to see if it breaks my fast. It's fun to experiment with adding and subtracting different items to see which works and what doesn't. But for my regular 24, 48+ fast, I stick to minerals in water and coffee/tea only.

Thank you for very clear, no-nonsense information. I am thinking for some time now to incorporate IF, but your videos made up my mind. When you mentioned the brain's response to something sweet, and also to chewing, i realized that i am a big culprit by chewing sugarfree gum... often during the day... and it seems that it has quite the opposite effect.

I was having coffee with heavy cream and alternate sweetener but I don’t really like the flavor of the sweetener and so I started skipping coffee twice a week and I noticed that I don’t really miss it so I think I am just going to give up the coffee completely. One question is it ok to do this fasting everyday?

Dr Berry: I’m new here but love your channel. Day 10, and able to eat only during 2 hour window. On fast, only water but ACV in the morning and before bed, for bladder health, gout, and toe fungus. Getting blood work in a week as part of annual physical, and looking forward to blood sugar numbers. Previous blood work has been good, but I’m excited to lose weight. Started at 230, now 205, goal 199 or less.

Honestly I’m intimidated by the whole thing but I’ve subscribed to your channel with notifications and I’ve subscribed to Karen Martel ‘s primal diet plan yesterday so I’m hoping to get started today! Gosh I didn’t know lemon in water would break my fast. I was doing lemon water for a long time thinking I was doing a good thing -so much conflicting information out there! Thank you for clearing up some of my confusion. It seems like everyone who has advice on the ketogenic diet has a different answer when it comes to what's acceptable during a fast. I really just need to stick with water and MCT oil. Apparently, I haven't been fasting at all this whole time, because someone else said bone broth was ok. This may be why I've stalled.

I used to put a splash of heavy cream in my coffee, but I found that when I reduced it to a tsp with a tsp of MCT, that I started to get thinner again.

My fav fasting liquid is ... COFFEE but NOW I know i have to drink ONLY WATER IF I want to attain Atophegee. When I do an Atophegee Fast ... can I still take my heart meds ? ( 25 mg Carvedilol + 25mg Spironolactone) I just started the Ketovore diet 8 days ago and lost 6 pounds so far. I am never hungry . :) I only eat at 2 pm and -6pm. daily. . Back when I was doing heavy labor, and living on black coffee, I was never more naturally fit and energetic in my life! The coffee did suppress my appetite. I still had to eat, but I didn't eat as much as my coworkers, who all got fat as hell, even doing same work, because they would all eat and snack so much.

My ancients only fasted on pure water , they occasionally added salt they believed good for hydration, beside it, just plain water. Some videos on website suggested acv, add fresh lemon slices in water, coffee, tea.....to curb hunger. It's good for people who find fasting is too hard to follow. It sounds making sense to ease hunger and craving by including these drinks during fasting window. But for many people the coffee, teas, plain lemon water, acv irritate your digestive to make them uncomfortable with a roaring guts. That's the reason why the Asian fasting recommended only water occasionally added salt, the hymalayan salt, NOT table salt.. please do some additional research on Dr Fung videos. Thank you Dr Ken for these precious information that help the world. Every information I get online from doctors and experts helps to greatly improve my health and others. Ali Indrawan I do two meals. I fast 19 hours. I eat my first meal at 1pm and 2nd meal at 6pm. I drink coffee with no sugar and mineral water in the morning and keep busy throughout the day.

I fast with ACV ( 1-2 TBS) mixed with 8 oz of green tea mixed and with a Tbs of psyllium fiber (which has a trace amount of tureric in it) mixed into the ACV green tea mixture. Sometimes I nibble a small slice of ginger root (1-2 grams).
I use a pat of Kerry gold salted butter and a tbsp of mct oil in my big cup of coffee every morning and then I don’t eat anything until about 11 am. It’s working for me. I look forward to it every morning.

Glenda Last Dr Berry just taught us that all sweeteners break a fast because they release an insulin response. Depends on what your goal is. Autophagy? Water only! (with electrolytes, look up snake juice recipe)
@@cathylarson54 I haven't watched this video yet, but no matter what you consume your insulin will be spiked unless it's something like water or BLACK coffee. That's including butter coffee.
Water, fasting 16 to 20 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week.
Talking of pickle water, I use some of liquid from sauerkraut to bolster the warm water I normally rely on. Taken on an empty stomach, the bacteria within will stand the best chance of getting through your stomach in one piece. The cabbage itself can wait for later.

Make sure to get Japanese green tea if you're using green tea. Just a tip it's the best quality without any harmful pesticides. As for the coffee you can also add in coconut oil and a pinch of cinnamon.

Oops! I'm glad I subscribed. I just had a delicious(what I thought was keto) coffee with a teaspoon each of mct ,butter, heavy cream, and collagen before fasting till mid afternoon. Tomorrow will be different! Thanks Dr Berry. I'm trying to get this right this time. I have a history of hashimotos. My last keto attempt I had hair loss a few months in which I'm hoping to avoid this time. Trying to educate myself in this long difficult journey.

My fasting liquid of choice is coffee with 1 TBS of MCT oil, a pinch of sea salt, 1/2 tsp unsweetened cacao, 1/2 tsp mushroom powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp maca powder. I don’t think that meaningfully breaks my fast and helps me easily do a 16:8 intermittent fasting pattern... sometimes 18:6. I've been doing well with that for about a year now. Your thoughts?

I started with water in the morning, then a cup of black coffee, then sipping on cold water with a green tea bag in my cup. About 3pm I was thinking now is lunch time. I started with a cup of bone broth and felt good and was thinking now I can wait until 6 pm to eat and just have one meal today. I went searching for information on bone broth and fasting and came across this video. After watching this I might as well go eat my salad and salmon, since there seems little point to waiting another 3 hrs before eating.

So glad I watched this after your video post a few minutes ago. I am pretty much a newbie to real fasting. Listening to internet “experts” can certainly throw you many curves. Like Stevia is ok during your fast. For me, my goals are twofold. One is weight loss, about 75-80 lbs. But also, which is most important, to achieve autophagy for better health.
Hi there. I love your videos as they are very informative. I've been doing a 16/8 intermittent fast for about 3 weeks now. I eat between 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. After that, I fast with water and at around 10:30 pm I have a cup of hot water with some freshly made lemon juice. (About 1 tbsp of lemon juice) and in the morning at around 10:30 am, I have a cup of lemon/ginger herbal tea with a bit of lemon juice. This works for me. I know I'm not supposed to eat bread and cereal but I do. After a long fast, I cannot stomach meat so I break my fast at noon with either cereal or a sandwich of some sort. At dinner time I have my meat and veggies. For me, meat once a day is enough. I did however lose 5 lbs. Thank you for your very informative videos.
My favorite fasting liquid: about 1/4 cup of coffee in my 32 oz water vessel with a bit of ice of course. It helps me tremendously. If that fails sometimes just a smidgen of Kerrygold butter will help. I have completed 3 72 hour fasts over a 3 month period and look forward to the next.
I just did a 24 hour fast and I was worried but I did great!!! I drank coffee and hot tea to suppressed my hunger all day! Wow it's easier than I thought to fast all day. I feel great! It's amazing! I cannot believe I've never tried it before. I got scared at first but I did it today and I feel wonderful. I have so much energy! I even did a quick jog or run for half an hour and not feeling exhausted or tire. Wow I'm gonna do it again but gonna try 2-3 days next time.

Iʻm starting my 48-hour fast (well, started it last night at 9) and this morning Iʻm drinking black coffee with a half teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon stirred in. Dr. Berg talked recently about the weight loss benefit of Ceylon cinnamon. Iʻm 65, keto full-time since July 2017, LOVE the heavy whipping cream, which now, okay, Iʻm quitting for a while, because I still have the belly fat that hasnʻt budged since early 2018.
