Apple Cider Vinegar also helps with satiety. If I feel a craving to eat just a little more at the end of a meal, I instead reach for a glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and a pinch of salt. Does the trick!

I blenderize a peeled lemon in a Vitamix blender and pour this into ice cube trays. When I prepare my cup of white tea in the morning I put one cube of emulsified lemon into this tea to activate more of the antioxidants in this tea. Milk/cream in tea will destroy some of the antioxidants making the tea less healthy

Dr Becky, five years ago I went heavy into stopping sugar and low carb. I found it relatively easy to do and keto sticks showed that I was definitely producing large amounts of ketones. However a few months in I started to get bad heart palpitations that became diagnosed as AFib. This scared the hell out of me TBH as you can imagine. Since then I’ve gone back to eating carbs as before, I do limit sugar intake though. I read that because low carb diets can mean the body tissues can not hold onto electrolytes so well may have been a cause of my AFib - over the last 4 years magnesium taurate along with a balanced diet has meant I haven’t had any more AFib episodes.
I have notice recently that my sugar cravings have gone up hence me watching your channel - I don’t want to go full keto again in case I’m predisposed to AFib when on keto but I am keen to follow your sensible advice to cut sugar cravings.
    Great channel ❤

Try the supplement magnesium L-threonate. This helps with stress, anxiety and sleep and is best taken in the evening. Try to consume a low carb diet with lots of vegetables and no processed food. Do a bit of simple yoga and breathing exercises as well. If you feel anxiety or a panic attack, sit down, relax muscles, close eyes and do slow deep breaths.
If you do 2 minutes of deep breathing per day you'll notice improvement in your blood pressure!!

I always hear people say don’t use stevia or monk fruit because it will make it easier to slide back into regular sugar. But what if I have the discipline to prevent this? Because I’ve used stevia and monk fruit regularly, and I find it very easy to stay on course. I haven ‘t touched real sugar for years now.

Thank you , Dr. Becky for your videos. I’m a long term time-restricted eater but I’m now taking medications that require some intake. Current life doesn’t allow true fasting. So, I call it time restriction instead and found small drinks of keto coffee and broth have helped me loose weight, stay in ketosis (most of the time) while staving off hunger to get me through 18-20 hours. Blood sugars are maintaining well enough that I’m off all injectables and working on coming off a combination drug that I needed to qualify for surgery. I’m healing well, losing weight, and I’ve found a lifestyle I can and will maintain because it maintains me.

I like to fast when I go fishing because I'm distracted from thinking about food and because I can control what I drink by simply taking only green-lighted liquids with me. I also burn more calories while fishing, because even though it's a low-impact sport, I stay active for the length of time I'm out there and I get plenty of fresh air and sunlight, along with stress reduction. I love monk fruit sweetener and when I feel like something sweet, I make sure that's all I use.

Its becoming difficult to find cream without added ingredients that raise blood sugar. I switched to mct and ghee but a blender is required to have a creamy effect. Just want to bring awareness to look at all ingredients in seemingly previous clean items. Adding stabilizers, thickeners, and preservatives that work against us is really on the rise.
I heard a microbiologist (Kiran Krishnan) mention that coconut oil can work against our microbiome due to its effective antimicrobial properties. Im in a difficult battle with sibo dysbiosis so had to give it up. Have you heard this?

If I fast for a minimum of 48 hours the soreness in my joints is greatly reduced, almost to nonexistent. However it's temporary, maybe a couple hours. When I eat all of it returns. What is going on in your opinion other than the most obvious the food I'm eating is feeding the inflammation. Incidentally the food is organic and or grass feed. This is really frustrating. Plus the 48 hour fast presents its own problems, I lose weight very quickly.

Fasting , addiction and allergies. It has been studied that some addicted are actually allergic to what they are addicted too. I wish I could remember the books I read on this but it's been to long and are more than likely out of print. If you are fasting it may be a good time to see how your body reacts to different foods. I did this years ago and helped me greatly know what was going on with my caloric input and also when I started felling 'sick' to know if it was diet driven. That said under an allergist guidance you fast with water for 5 days. Then introduce pure food into your system , one per meal, and record your recation . The foods need to be pure so example no cream corn, only washed plan corn. As it is impossible to test everything you do a food log beforehand and read labels to get what is the main ingredients you intake on a regular day. Example so many products have corn meal in them , so if these are intake, test them. I use corn as an example as I am highly allergic to it but really could not get away from it but also crave it. In the end the thought process was to cycle out any trigger products no more than 3 consecutive days staying away for at least 2 days. I can't tell you how many times I looked back when I got a cold and instead of going to the cold medicine looked back at what I had been eating and stopped the cold by changing my diet ( reality was I hadn't been paying attention) . It's just good to know what is going on with your cravings and system , it's not just sugar. That said there must be more of late on holistic approach to food allergies so read up on that b4 trying. All good , stay well, blessings.
Ps. I'm allergic to basically everything so this was important to me.

I drink a lot of water but it gets boring. I did some research online to see if I can use a flavor enhancer. From what I have read, STUR is considered Keto friendly because it is natural using stevia as a sweetner. So I use that for my water every day. It sounds like you suggest that should be avoided. Am I understanding you correctly? I love STUR. It helps me increase my water intake to 64-96 ounces. Thank you!

When I read Himalayan salt I cringe. Why are people so gullible into thinking Himalayan salt is something special? It is not. It is regular salt from mines in Pakistan, hundreds of miles away from the Himalayan mountains. Just get yourself normal household salt for the normal price. And if you must, Fleur de Sel - at least there you know why it is more expensive and the nutritional added benefits.

    • @feelMYmeat
      @feelMYmeat 8 месяцев назад +1

@@wakeupcall2665 You cringe ; ) Table salt is bleached and is stripped entirely of it's natural trace minerals. Also, anti-caking agents are added to prevent the salt from clumping together. No one should ingest table salt EVER!
I'm not stating that HPS is the best salt out there. I'm championing all natural unprocessed salt for human consumption.

HELP! Question, please: I made Jamaica punch with no sugar, adding mineral water, lime, and salt. But I put in 4 ounces of apple soda pop sweetened with fructose. Did I blow it? Did I put myself out of ketosis?

Torani's sugar-free coffee syrups have sucralose in them. Will that break a fast? Thank you!

    Hi Dr. Becky,
Can I add some collagen powder (sugar free, no flavor) into my coffee/tea in the mornings?

All right!! I drink ICE fizzy water one or two a day. During fast cooled boiled water with lemon juice.
At 75 holding well at 180# with a new drop in morning fast prick glucose.
NOTE: A Doctor on YT noted that over 500mg of ascorbic acid a day can cause a false positive in glucose readings. I stopped my 1500mg two weeks ago and dropped 10 points... Now reading high 80s. 😃

Currently in a 24 hour dry fast, 4 hour left to finish, nothing to eat nor drink, not even rinsing mouth.
Weather is 33 degrees celsius/91.4 degrees fahrenheit, 50 percent humidity. Probably drove roughly 40 km/25 miles and walked perhaps 5 kms/3.1 miles today, mouth is very very dry but thirst is gone, as if body has made own water, no real hunger to speak of, energy is well, not drained, feeling good.
Have people eating and drinking all around me, not feeling any discomfort.👍

@@zaragray6199 Actually I wasn't starving at all. It is not normal for out bodies to eat every day. It never was normal up until food became a factory produced product that brings profit to people who can afford to establish and run factories, so they had to make us believe that we need to eat each and every day.
