Oh wow, the scale bit was so true!!! When I stand on the scale I get so hopeless and depressed! Frankly, I have just stopped weighing myself. I am still working on weight loss of course, but I just can't handle the number situation. When my clothes fit better, I feel better and have more energy; that is more important than some stupid number on a scale.
Also, I loved the looking in the mirror part. It is hard. But I have prayed a lot about this because I am naturally negative. Not just being honest with yourself but also positive affirmations!! This body gave birth to 3 children! It has taken me around my whole life for 34 years. This body is a GIFT from God and I am the one who has defiled it with junk, garbage and idleness.
SMILE is great advice! I will do that! Thank you, Dr. Becky!!
    🙏🏻👏🤗❤🤩

I was looking for keto recipes to share with my cousin and came across your videos. I have always been thin but after a series of events I gave up. Eating bad, drinking & gained a lot of weight. I ended up in the hospital on an unrelated illness. One visit to my Dr changed my life. My anxiety was through the roof along with my weight, 226lbs. We discussed keto and under his supervision, I started. May 29th, 2020. I lost 86 lbs by the end of the year. We were both amazed. You have so much information that I've been spending hours watching your videos and taking notes. Thank you for your videos. I can't wait to share with my doc on next visit. ❤

I have been hovering on a weight number for 2 weeks. Just won’t budge.. I did the tip of the post it note. The first 3 days, I had the note about 20# lower.. thought maybe I should just do a few pounds. So I changed it and went 2 days without looking. Omg! This works. I can’t believe it. I broke the plateau and was 2# less. The scales was on the number of my post it. Thank you so much. And I even had a reason to do the 1 minute of smiling. 😊

I would like to use lmnt, but it simply has to much sodium for me. I wish they would make one with reduced sodium ( by half); and increase mag & potassium. Dr. Becky is a wonderful teacher she explains things so well. I now use a cup of green tea for my stopper. Afterwards, I floss & brush my teeth. That alone discourages me to sneak a snack. It signifies that eating for the day is over.❤❤❤

Hi Dr. Becky, have been following you for several years. Always interesting videos. Glad your husband is doing well now, he looks good. Here's the thing - do you think that genetics have a large say in your body composition and health. I have always hated sugary things and dislike most vegetables. My weight has been constant for the last 50 years. Am 6 1 and 164 lb. It never changes - even if I go on holiday and drink lots of beer - never changes more than a couple of pounds and a few days later it is back to normal. Very weird. I see people on youtube who lose 50 lbs and it just seems amazing.

    • @beckygillaspy

I personally don't think you tips are helpful for me. I do want to say, you shouldn't loose weight to look prettier or to fit into a piece of clothing. You should instead eat healthy so your body will work at it's best. You should find moving activity that you love and gently stretch to keep your body in shape so you are able to reach for something you want that is up high, and be able to lift something down low. You need to keep your balance for washing your feet and the shower and traversing uneven ground so you don't fall. Keep your arms and legs strong, so you can fight if you have to, to keep yourself safe, and breath deep to keep you lungs working properly. You may or may not like your looks or your life, but by doing the above things you will be at your best to do something about it.
