      I too think this truck looks sick, especially with factory 35s. You have to do a lot of cutting on a Tacoma to even make 33s fit well without rubbing off road. Oh, and side note, these are definitely 35s, not 34 point whatevers. Tires labeled 35 (usually 35x12.50r…) are also only 34 point whatever inches tall.

    • @mathieuk119
      @mathieuk119 9 месяцев назад +2

      The Colorado version is atleast pretty special. Dual lockers, longer travel suspension, active suspension, bumpers and unique interior. I think that qualifies its trim level....other trucks idk

    • @kabloosh699
      @kabloosh699 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@mathieuk119 I'd definitely consider the Colorado variant to be the center of the two. The Silverado and especially the HD models just look like mild upgrades from their other trims while the Colorado ZR2 is much different than the lower trim models.
      It is also the first name plate to have the ZR2 trim as well. All they need to do is slap an engine in it that would separate it from the lower trims to make it truly special.

    On the transmission going into park when opening the door, if yours eat belt is on they usually won't go into park. I get seat belt extenders on all my pickups and it defeats the nanny that places transmission into park when the door is open. It also eliminates the annoying beeps. I like the half ton ZR2 with the diesel for the best all around package.

      Fuel economy was never mentioned for the Colorado ZR2 Bison. With the 35’s I expect to see 17-18 mpg from the 2.7L 4-banger turbo. That poor fuel mileage is unacceptable for a midsize truck. The upcoming 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro hybrid should get 25-27 mpg.

    • @PeakDecline
      @PeakDecline 9 месяцев назад +4

      @@mini2nut67 You're really comparing dramatically different levels of off-road performance. The Tacoma doesn't have long travel suspension, doesn't have a front locker, doesn't have a winch capable bumper, has smaller and much less aggressive tires.

    • @whocaresjustdoit
      @whocaresjustdoit 9 месяцев назад +1

      I agree on the Tacoma TRD Pro vs. Colorado ZR2 Bison capability. By the time you upgrade the TRD Pro performance to the ZR2 Bison level you’re probably gonna have similar mpg. I love Toyota (as I own a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro now) but I just don’t think they’re offering anything comparable to Chevy and Ford (with the Ranger Raptor) level of performance this generation.

      This is the large wage inequality that US Corp execs make 436x the ave company worker when in the 70s it was 6x. US ranks 4th worst in the world for this most important wage metric. And GOP will even fight to the end to stop Min wage increases every year. But they'll have us focussed on cultural issues to fight like wokism or Merry Christmas or bathroom use... we can vote smarter.

      Corporate Executives have that kinda money that's who. For the last 45 years those execs have voted for their own pay increases while holding down employee pay and benefits at every turn. In 1980 Exec pay was 6x the ave employee, today it is 436 x what their employees make. That takes planning and consistent fights against labor like busting unions and GOP corporate handouts of lower taxes. The actual Pandemic inflation was only 30% of the price increases you see, the rest 70% is corporate price gouging. The saying in the board room is never waste a good crisis. They gouge -then blame the issue of the day. Remember what they say when the minimum wage ever has a chance to be raised, they threaten they must layoff employees. Don't buy their BS nor their products if you can help it. That is why they want monopoly power and this quasi-Capitalism (actually its a Mixed Market economy with subsidies for several industries) always ends up with less competition, not more...

      OK. This was not meant to be turn into an argument about Capitalism, Unions, Communism, whatever. Just trucks. In the 1980s & 90s, GM & Ford sold the most piece of shit cars. Why? Because they could get away with it. 2024. You can get away with it. Why? Because idiots buy new cars. The Public is either stupid as shit, or the Public is insane. That is why. Only an insane, idiot, fool, filthy rich dumb-ass, would pay $80,000 for a new truck.@@jr.6199

    Not sure why you mount the spare in that location, why not on driver side bed or on tailgate?

      @is6566 9 месяцев назад

      On the tailgate? That spare weighs about 150 pounds. Do you want to catch that whenever you open or close the tailgate? 😅

    GM really went to shit the last few years, I basically can't recommend a single product they sell anymore, they're all just piles. Even high end stuff, my friends CT5-V BLACKWING literally blew its motor before it even hit 1000 miles due to manufacturing defects, endless issues with the new Z06 Vette, the crossovers are total junk, Camaro is dead, and the trucks arnt exactly super reliable these days either. I really used to support GM but I have to say, they're one of the last OEMs I would even consider at this point

    The Bison is $9k on the heavy duty but only $8400 on the Silverado, soooo maybe just maybe only $7500 on the Colorado? Hopefully, fingers crossed.

    I feel like you all are working too hard on too many things. You all have 20 different things going on. I wish you would just focus on Trucks/SUVs, how well they perform on-road/off-road, Colorado trails, towing, and VALUE. My favorite videos are things like the 2006 Touareg/MB vids. I will never buy a $70K vehicle and bash it around off-road. I wish you made videos of used Trucks/SUVs with 100K miles on them, and put them to the test. We are poor people, we don't have $70,000 to just spend. Thank you.

    Great trucks. You speak to GM - get them to up the power in their engines. 6.2 - 450 Diesel - 500 4- 340 let’s go!

      😂 Nobody's ever satisfied. Do you really think it would be that much of a difference?
      Do you think that you will be in a situation where you think " if I only had 20-30 more hp" I could get out of here 😂.

    • @johnmorris77
      @johnmorris77 9 месяцев назад +1

      I agree about the 6.2 it’s had 420 hp for 10 years. The ford 5.0 makes 400 and is 1.2 liters smaller.
      Also only makes 25 hp more than the 5.7 hemi being half a liter bigger. It should be 450-475

    GM would have great off road vehicles if it wasn't for the 💩 front suspension! They have the most skin in the game as far as IFS, yet refuse to change the design for their off road vehicles!
    Yes, it makes for a great on road tow rig but it does Not have the travel nor strength for a competitive off road desert rig...

    Colorado bison is 52k at my dealer, drove one yesterday. On the articulation rack it did ok, not great, my Tremor did better. I only have added 35in nittos and DV8 bumpers.
    No reason they couldn't do integrated tips like sierra. The 3.0L is $3000, the y.2 is 3800

    Wheel size on silverado smaller than the Colorado. Very big fail from GM /Chevy part. You can't even squeeze a 35 on the silverado without major rub. The second issue is if you do lift the truck, you lose the 4 high capabilities. Another failure. The third issue is they still have the worst fuel mileage. A ZR1 corvette gets better fuel mileage than this truck. Very sad day for the silverado.
