So many people commenting on her obvious physical beauty whilst ignoring her most beautiful asset...her hands. Yes she's very pretty and has amazing hair, but many young ladies have those qualities. How many have hands that can create something as phenomenal as this recital with such grace? I can imagine just how proud those who love her are. This is talent and passion at its very best.

I feel, Mark, that composers of the past have missed the magic of watching hands producing their work - it adds a whole new dimension. After all our brain ties the audio with the visual as a matter of course. We owe a great favour to the video recordists talents who allow us this too.

Aren't her hands part of her "physical" makeup? Yes, I agree that her hands are beautiful... but you're sadly mistaken in questioning the talent of other "young ladies". LOTS OF YOUNG BEAUTIFUL GIRLS CAN PLAY PIANO BEAUTIFULLY!!

This is literally perfection. I have never heard an interpretation of this that is so emotional and powerful. THIS. This is the pinnacle of what humanity has to offer, truly and absolutely. The entire second movement, and the finale of the third movement, are absolutely transcendental and astounding. Realising that this performance is relatively unknown is quite upsetting to me personally. This talented woman deserves far more praise!

I have listened to Huppman’s interpretation of Pathetique numerous times as well as other highly regarded pianists including Horowitz. Just to determine why I love her interpretation.
Of course, various nuanced interpretations are subjective but I love the contrast within Pathetique between the bright segments and the sensual moments. Huppman’s bright segments strike me as brighter as she plays with authority. Then the quieter sensual moments are even more sensual so the contrast within this sonata ilia enhanced to a point I love.
I just hope that Beethoven is in a place where he can hear Huppman’s lovely interpretation!

You have the speed that does not overwhelm, unlike so many other young concert pianists who think that playing things at breakneck speed is what it is all about, but have no emotional connection to what they are playing. Terrific performance, crisp, well articulated, great dynamics and real feeling. She also gets my unofficial Wilhelm Kempff award for fidelity to the rhythm - so many pianists these days seem to be trying to create a unique interpretation by artificially meddling with rhythm and for Beethoven in particular that's a great way to ruin a piece.
One further word - though I hesitate to comment on the appearance of a female pianist given the usual excessive commentary on this aspect on youtube, the hairstyle, outfit and body language really complemented this performance. Often I prefer not to watch a performer as it's a distraction but in this case found the visuals to be an enhancement to enjoyment of the piece and quite mesmerizing because of Ms. Huppmann's obvious absorption in the music. There is a star quality about her presence here and one can see why she has won so many competitions. Thank you Ms. Huppmann!

I'm not, anyway. There's nothing wrong with it, but that''s not what this video is about. It's about the music she plays, not about her hair or her attire.

There's great camera work at play here. I can appreciate the multiple angles as well as the traveling shots. It meshes well with your dynamism and piece.
Also, Ms. Huppmann, your new look is simply fierce! It suits you well. And your hairstyle--so bouncy and volumous. It's gorgeous!
Your beauty and talent are enough to make all living things jealous.

Beautiful interpretation of Beethoven, I played this in the Guild and on many stages here in America many years ago. With sadness I can't play the piano anymore, lost in time...had to work to build career and now it's lost to a time lapse of memory/arthritis. Don't ever let it leave you dear!

My dear Lady. Some consolation in the face of tragedy must be in recognizing that it is not for all humans to be able to touch the soul in a chord that comes out of the creative depth of the human spirit..

Anastasia Huppmann is now the best pianist in the world. Her beauty is also the best. Concerning Her piano technique, First, clear melody line. No voiced pedaling, every left handed chord is carefully down. Her Chopin Nocrurn No 2 , 7 measure from the end, E♭ーF , though general pianist play 8 notes, she played intensively 6 note. This is also very natural in her performance. She is also my ideal piano teacher.
